The Musharaff Dilemma
by Sebastian Thomas Cherukanam on Feb 19, 2008 12:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a situation Musharaff is in! If he uses the Army against the terrorists, extremists and fundamentalists, he will be called a dictator. When he doesn't do so, leaders like Benazir blame him saying that enough protection was not given to her. When he vowed to conduct the election, all declared that he would rig the election. If he deploys Army for a fair election, he becomes a dictator again. If he doesn't do so, he will be made responsible for the law and order situation. If he wins the election, all already declared that it would be through rigging. If he doesn't win, no one is there to appreciate him for conducting a fair election, instead will start talking of impeachment or execution. Can anyone tell, what should he do in order to please everyone? Don't say that he should step down because stepping down at this juncture will only help to double the trouble in Pakistan. Now it is certain that he or his party will not win election and please, at least now appreciate him for his bold steps to bring democracy in Pakistan even putting his life in danger. Hearty congratulations, Musharaff. I salute you.

I predict more tension in the Indian sub-continent in his absence. There will have not much difference if it is PPP or Nawaz Sherif, which forms Government there.

I have changed my thoughts
by Vinu on Feb 19, 2008 10:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I use to think Pakistan is a unstable country because they supported Terrorism, they belongs to one religion etc etc.

But friends I have changed my thoughts, I understood one think that it doesnt take much to destroy a country. The way Naxalite, J&K and small groups are rising day by day, and the way Mr. Raj challenged everything and did what he wanted to do, I feel the dirty and selfish leadership will take us towards Pakistan System. One day some General will take over, people unrest is well known everywhere in the country. I am sure people will make small small group and will fight on some issue, thats all. Think, think hard I am not day dreaming.

Even now in India we dont have good leaders, we have leaders like , Lalu, Mulayam singh, Mayawati, Karuna, Buddhadeb, and now we have Raj Thakerey like leaders who are directly challenging the system, law, Indian Integrity, they have lot of excuses for that but they are taking us towards Pakistan.

Dear Venu,

Raj Thackrey is the product of Indian political system. Even the new generation of politicians will be like that. Raj is no different than Paswan, Laloo, Communists, Congress, Mayawati et al. Don't these big names do the same kind of politics. Worse them is Congress which has given half of Kashmir to Pakistan, thousand of km of Indian territory to China, donating hard earned money of tax payers to kashmiri terrorists, nothing for pandits in Jammu. When we shamelessly vote for a party like Congress, it is we who are responsible and not Raj thackrey. When he created party, he invited all even migrants. But the politicians of UP and Bihar are responsible even here. They can't given bread to their people but when they earn in other state, they see them as vote bank. Whatever Raj Thackrey did was right? You will observe that now every Bihar and UP politicians is speaking in a low tone. Amar Singh who was shouting is now using term like Marathis are good, I can only request etc.

It is only in India that a woman who became legal citizen of this country just 13 years back is heading the party and sitting in parliament. Didn't we pay for those among us, who know nothing about the value of politics and vote.

Rajinder Katoch

Nawaz Sharief and PPP are worse than mad wolves. Musharraf is decidedly a better ally of the West than these insane dogs
