Shariff was arm twisted by Clinton to begin withdrawing from kargil. Shariff agreed and that cost him his job, in a coup.

I am sure that whether it is Bush, McCain, Clinton or Obama, Pakistani leadership will have to dance to the music played by Washington, as they always had, for the aid money Pakistan gets in compensation for being a good doggy.

Obama has already announced the unilateral bombing of terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. So, you guys watch out and take cover before it's too late ... LOL.

Those who think that military will allow democracy are living in fool's paradise. Nor will allow political leaders to master over it.

now islam will rule pakistan...
i still remember it was Nawaz who defied USA's call for not to conduct any nuke test but he did it just one week after india's test and two more tests than india's.
also before his dismissal it was he who had announced that he is going to make shariyah as supreme law in pakistan and that had angred USA.
after that very soon he was dismissed by USA rat mush-bush combination. but now public has awaken and lovers of islam are now on the road to take up any challenge these bush-mush combination poses to islam.
pakistan is very much on the path of what israel feared long back when israel's then pm told that they fear none of the arab countries but only pakistan. and now pakistan has started utilising their potential. majority of the public who love islam is ready to die and pay any price for their very basic right of islam and this election is just a small glimpse of what they actually want and how much they can tolerate USA interference and Bush-Mush combination in pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif runs an Islamist party which tried to impose Shariah in Pakistan last time around till Musharraf cam and turned it around. Democracy was taking Pakistan down an extremely dark road - much as it is happening in Turkey. This time around Nawaz will find it difficult to impose non-secular laws only because PPP won more seats and Musharraf is still the President. Also - the army will undertake a coup to prevent total de-secularization of Pakistani society. Nawaz Sharif is the trojan horse of Taliban in Pakistan.

Pak Elections
by BS on Feb 20, 2008 07:07 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Nothing will change in Pak. If the new Government deviates from the set path of 'Anti India' propaganda and/or terrorism (to extract huge cash from USA and rest of the world for 'fighting' terrorism'), the military and ISI can topple them any time at their convenience. There was never a true democracy
in Pak.

The best thing that Mush did
by Minto on Feb 20, 2008 06:37 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mush made sure that neither Zardari nor Nawaz can become PAK PM. Pakis should erect a monument for Mush because of that. If Nawaz make AQ Khan president, then USA will occupy PAK the next day and take away their most valuable toy.

USA influence in pak will go with bush-mush combination eradication. now bush is in danger in USA and mush in pakistan. it is not easy to occupy a nuke country like pakistan. even little iran did a bamboo already in USA, thinking any occupation in pakistan is just an arrogant idea to show the frustration with pakistan's recent development and nothing else.

Modi will be changed some day, but
Communists are top ranking criminal than Modi. He is merely a sand particle are compare to desert=communists.
Communists killed 100 millions within a century just to oppress any form of opposition.
No notorious dictator has such record except Communists ruler !
