there are many studies which show that people are born with a particular orientation. A friend of mine knew he was gay when he was 4. One of the smartest people I have met, he is very normal and ordered. Most of us make our opinions from what we hear. We should try to experience things ourselves and see if what we believe in is actually true.

WRONG... Majority of the American society is ANTI-GAY... In Christianity, homosexuality is an enormous sin so it is not an American thing.

yes, this is utter non sense......guys, god created man and woman in this world, so that the purity of life is fullfilled by uniting a man and woman. if there could've been unity between two men or two women, god could've very well created only men or women in this world. Try to understand this basic fact. There can only be friendship between guys. Dont misunderstand friendship with sex!!! You'll realize that love is so pure and divine when you see it in the opposite sex. Sad that our culture is changing and rediff has to avoid putting such articles in the future!

The problem with most of us is that we think, once we allow homosexuality, everyone will turn into it. Obviously not. Could a predominant hetrosexual population make gays not gays? No. So just relax and be compassionate. And as far as natural or not goes, nature is full of animals where homosexuality can be seen. So it is not just us. Try to accept people for who they are.
It is people's choice to live the way they want to. I have no problems with somebody being a GLBT. People, please respect others' choices. And those who wonder what is happening to the Indian culture, our culture is strong enough to accommodate everyone so be compassionate.

Nahi thu itna support kar raha tho socha puchke doubt clear karlu, if it was truly an objective thought or just trying to start a support network. BTW, I am not. But kush rah.
I am not talking about morals. Nor it is rejection of diversity. But how can Govt or NGOs support Bisexuals? If a married man has relationship with another lady than his wife, it is considered infidelity. Then, Bisexual behavior is also infidelity. Don't promote or support it

Few things... A person can be bi-sexual before marriage. Also, since man-man relationship is not regarded as marriage, it will not be counted as polygamy. You are right it is a loophole but it cannot prevent people from being bi-sexual before marriage.
I used to be prejudiced, just like most of the Indians, against gays but after knowing few gay and lesbian individuals at work, I realized that it is just normal. All this thing about mental disorder is BS. They just have a different choice and we should accept them for who they are.
I have gone through the comments posted about this article. Its funny people responding with such a sense of "shock". Let people be what they are - Noone has the right to judge another person.

There is a difference Krishnan, in the case of animals. Those poor things don't give you their consent. And incest - if the parties involved are majors and are willing, what is your problem? They are not violating anyones rights. Please use your brain only for yourself.
And all those who say that these things are against "our culture", please at least search for pictures of the sculptures from the temples of Khajarao.
If homosexuality is unnatural so is oral or anal sex. People most opposed to homosexuality are suppressed homosexuals themselves (waiting to see some replies). Any progressive society is sexually free society.
