Interesting to note the extent of ignorance among Indians regarding the gay nature. And not just ignorance, but also the mindless hatred accompanying it.
I'd like to comment on the word "choice" that keeps coming up.
Some people claim that being gay is an evil and disgusting "choice". Some other, "open-minded", people like to say that they "respect" your "choice". The attitudes in both cases are wrong, whatever the intentions.
How is this "choice" made? When? Where? Is there any "choosing ceremony" held anywhere, like a wedding ceremony?
If you yourself are not gay, why did you not make this "choice"? What was it that prevented you? Did you "refuse" to accept this "choice" at any point in your life?
What criteria decide which people make the "choice" and which people don't make it?
What makes some young children "choose" to be gay? Do they enjoy being attacked and ridiculed by their classmates?
A gay male has no interest in sexual relationships with the female sex. Why? If he wants to "enjoy more", as you say, why not have both men and women? Why would he reject women without even "testing"?
After all, we Indian men are crazy about women, aren't we? India has one of the highest rates of rape and sexual harassment of women in the world. How is a gay man "enjoying more" by giving up this greater pleasure? Except for a small number of "bisexuals", most gay men are only interested in same sex relationships. Why?
Rediff: If u want more no. of hits on ur website, post some good articles. We can tolerate even if it makes sense to certain extent. Reading such such articles make one feel that Bangalore is now totally screwed up and comparable to western cities. I have been in Bangalore all thro and discussions on homosexuality among common people still raise eyebrows. Take responsibility... dont talk bullshit.
