The Society is controlled by 'black mailers' acting as guardians of religion. Look how they hound voice of reason and sanity! Look at Taslima, how her voice is suppressed.
In a society, where women are treated as doormats, hidden from top to toe and treated as a commodity , there can be no hope.
Does Rediff.com belong to Pakistan.. They are covering each and every note of its election... Not sure if this ( rediff ) will act same in India elections...

Please try to undestand that Pakistani election is also crucial for India; in fact it is crucial for the entire region. For the first time in history none of the major political parties has said anything against India, which was always a regular feature in each election in Pakistan. Prior to election, in one occassion, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto declared thousand years of war against India and on another occasion, Zia Ul Haq called for thousand cuts on India to kill it by bleeding. On the contrary they have said friendship with India is a must for Pakistan's prosperity. None of the three major parties is likely to be able to form government on their own. It is expected that they will join hands to corner Musharaff. Off course Musharaff will try his best to rig the election. If that happens PPP has warned that they might decide to break up Pakistan with their strong support base in Sindh. So it is a very very critical phase not only for Pakistan but for the entire region. It is a moment of truth for Pakistan and is likely to have a profound effect on India. Terrorism may go up or go down. Economy of both the countries may get a boost. In turn it is likely to have effect on the economies of all the SARC countries. So the election in Pakistan is of vital importance to us as well. Wait for tomorrow and you will be astonished to see the coverage in the major news papers of India on this election.

Dude Sankar, They talk of freindship cuz they can't afford to be enemies anymore. If their financial condt was ok and they hadn't gone thru all this political parties wud have been trying to get the votes on anti-indian agenda.
Infection can be treated but when it turns into gangarine, there is no other option than amputating that part. Same holds good for Pakistan. They were born some hours before us - India. And look at them. The most pathetic state on the back of this earth! Somalia and Rwanda and Burundi in Africa must be a whole lot better. It is high time usa joins hands with India and taking help of Afghanistan and USSR, we all together must crush Pakistan once and for all. This will put a full-stop on all terrorist activities or at least 90% of them because Pak is the epicenter. Na rahe baans, na baje bansuri...hahahahaha!!!

Give them a chance fellows. The aam aadmi is suffering there. A kind of Emergency imposed had to be lifted and the citizens had to suffer the brunt. India has lived through this emergency, but for good purpose. Those days you can see a self imposed discipline on the streets, buses, trains everywhere. Let Pakistan have a good administrator, not another lalu,Bahenji or Mulayam. God bless them.

Pak will become another Iraq, and US forces will barge in and stay in Pakistan. Anyway the Pakistan goes, but all those terrorists will definitely enter India to safeguard themselves against US forces, and to take a shelter in soft minded India.
The darker days are not far from here if India does not take precautions, and appropriate actions.
Democracy is a great idea. But its workable only where the mass have some maturity. It will take not less than 100 years for pak to reach such maturity.

Maturity ..India has maturity?! See what happended in Mumbai last week.. see what happened in Mumbai on New Year Day.. see what happened to Dr. Amit..what about Pandher.. what is Lalu, Mulayam and Bahenji doing to mature India. Looting what is meant for people and poor cattle is not maturity. Pulling these cases for years together is not maturity. Selectred amnesia by CBI is not maturity. Kris.. grow up.

..but ours was a truly democratic society before invasions destroyed all democratic institutions of India...system of Janpadas,Nalanda university,Taxila etc all were harbingers of democracy in India...can you expect a smooth growth and coexistence of many religions like Hinduism,Buddhism or Jainism any where other in world...in Ramayana there is a whole chapter dedicated to Jwalihi(sorry if spelling is wrong) who was a strong critic of Ram,can you expect this in an undemocratic society... is it not a proof of democratic values of Indian society...if one can find audacious philosophy of Advaita Vedanta in India one can also find Charvak's Lokayata which emphasises on material well being and discards all sorts of spiritualism....basically Indian society has a very strong basis for democracy but we Indians have forgotten this treasure...we are always looking towards others for new ideas and solutions...no doubt other societies also have very much to offer but ours is also very rich in terms of values and ideas...we just need to recognise our potential....
