election commission wake up!!!!!!!!!......
by akjha jha on Feb 17, 2008 01:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the best thing to prevent these things to happen in India for politicians like Raj thakrey is the election commission should announce, the people who talk or behave discimination among Indians, they or their party will not be allowed to contest elections, this is enoungh to close the mouth of political traders. The media should come in big way and educate the people for unity among indians, language is only to converse, it does not have any extra quality or religion.kindly dont encourage people like Raj thakrey then we will have the danger to face many more in other states. All like minded people must stop this here, otherwise the next generation will have to live in UNITED STATES OF INDIA

We oppose Hindi
by Terminator on Feb 17, 2008 01:28 PM  Permalink

There is no need to impose Hindi on non Hindi speakers as the national language.

Why do we need a national language in a democratic multi linguistic country?

If we need a national language then make English as the national language.

All languages like Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu are being sidelined and Hindi is being promoted. Soon our children will forget their mother tongues and will know only English and Hindi.

All non Hindi speakers should take a stand against Hindi and save their languages from extinction.

Bhayyas have made Hindi the national language after breeding like rabbits.

At this rate Mahrashtra will be without Marathi, Punjab will be without Punjabi, Bengal will be with out Bengali...

We need to take a stand now before it is too late.

Be a roman in rome
by Rajesh jagtap on Feb 17, 2008 01:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is true that cities are supposed to be cosmopolitan and mumbai by all means has been a cosmo place since ages. It has been so due to the Marathi culture which is very accomodating friendly and down to earth. A common maharastrian man is truly a depiction of RK Laksmans common man and is law abiding and likes to live in peace. I have travelled throughout India and there are very few places in India where local people are so accomodating and down to earth in there own dens . Attitude of a common maharastrian is way too good to be true. But over the years the influx of people from outside the state has become so high that the infrastructure is unable to cope with the same. Law and order is becoming worse in Mumbai . I used to be proud of the fact that a girl could walk the streets of Mumbai at night and still be safe . Now I am ashamed of the fact that on on a crowded street on new years girls are molested out in the middle and i am not blaming the north, south or east indians for that what i am saying is that the infrastructure is unable to cope . we want a cleaner Mumbai since a long time but how can we get a cleaner Mumbai when thousands of people are coming in to build more slums everyday. And these are the same people who get estableshed in the city and then blame the people of the city and state for being dirty. Its high time the influx of people is stopped and we make Mumbai the beautiful place it deserves to be. I agree that Violence is never the way to do things but

Raj's Security
by MOHAMMAD IMRAN on Feb 17, 2008 01:23 PM  Permalink

In order to cool down Raj Thackeray, Govt. of Maharastra and Union Government should implement one line formula to enable Raj to shut his dirty mouth:

"IMMEDIATELY WITHDRAW ALL SECURITY COVER FROM RAJ AND HIS FAMILY MEMBERS".

You all will see, he will like "bhigi billi". I bet everybody, it will be most effective.

Raj and his goondaas are trying to divide India on cast, creed, religion, language. Kashmir se Kanyakumari Tak, Bihar Se Maharastra Tak, Bengal Se Punjab tak, Arunachal se Mezoram Tak, Goa se Andman Nicobar and Dadra and Nagar Havelli Tak Bharat EK hai.

Raj's act is shameful and must be/should be condemned by all means. Even his uncle, Bala Saheb did not like his way. Raj first teach Maharastrian people proper education (to all poor and below poverty line people). Raj has lot of money. Did he ever come up and spoke about the plight of Maharstrian Kisaan??? Who are dying just due debt and drought in their area. Why Kisaans are making suicide? Did Raj ever think about? All Kisaans are Maharastrians, where no outsiders are involved in farming. Raj does not care all these poor people, because he know there will be no political gain, so he is just trying to disturb Mumbai and its security and stability.

I CONDEMN AND WILL ALSO DO SO.

Good Morning...!
by Milind on Feb 17, 2008 01:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is the government of Maharashtra and Central Governments total failure that we have this situation today, that all of us have to cover our bread and see to it that someone else will not snatch that away from us...

It is State Governments duty to make some moves in the direction of safeguarding the local Interest instead of giving foolish open invitations to the 'outsiders'... and the Central Governments Duty to put their act together and pump in some confidence (Not loads of blind Money) in the sick states... and see to it that these sick governments are performing well towards the betterment of the people living below the poverty line as they are the one who come in the line of fire where ever they go...

These flare-ups are common sentiments of the common people in the state of Maharashtra which are surfacing with the outbursts from Raj. So holding only Raj responsible for all this is not correct...

And anyone who wants to celebrate UP Divas... do it but keep it to yourselves do not use it for other purposes... and nothing great about it anyways...

by amit sharma on Feb 17, 2008 01:36 PM  Permalink
Industries in the area have suffered a combined loss of up to Rs.4 billion (approx $100 million) in the past fortnight of violence.

The immediate fallout could be a steep increase in the cost of labour, which in turn would lead to a hike - almost double in some cases - in the prices of goods manufactured in the industrial belt.

"The prices of steel products, electrical equipment and automobile parts are expected to nearly double in the coming weeks. The situation is a direct fallout of the non-availability of cheap, unskilled labour," Nashik Industrial Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) chairperson Abhay Kulkarni told IANS.

According to NIMA's estimates, nearly 30,000 labourers have left the industrial belt in the past two weeks of unrest sparked by the Raj Thackeray-led MNS. Many taxi drivers and street vendors were assaulted in Mumbai and a man in Nashik lost his life in the violence.

Apprehending more violence, the migrant workers have gone back to their homes in Bihar or Uttar Pradesh
