I guess the Hindi speaking and the Marathi speaking population are not against each other. In my opinion, in any organizations in the state, both these pupils sit together and have lunch, breakfast together. The tiffins are shared amongst each other. So, where is the question of fight and agitation against each other? It is only Amar Singh, Abu Azmi, Raj, Lalu & other stupid politicians who are raising the issue. As a common working person, in our day to day life, where do we see such hatred? OR do we get that much of time also to think about hating each other?

You dont understand the issue dear friend. Its that this same tolerenece is taken as Marathi weakness. How in the world can you you justify and accept a demand to have Hindi as working language of Mumbai corporation? Can this be done in Chennai? If not then why and how in Mumbai? Just because we accepted Hindi as our national language? We areproud of Hindi as our national language but that doesn't mean that we are ready to replace Marathi with Hindi. Thats the issue.

I agree with you in totality. In fact Hindi can never replace Marathi. No Way!! However, this problem is to be sorted out politically. The working force of Bihar & UP should now be asking their representatives forcefully to open up the doors of employment in the Home State itself where they can work with Head High. This is the only solution.

Dude I am not saying there is difference but go to Pune or Mum you'd see a significant population is too over proud of being MHians and racist. These ppl are using their emotion and believe me this unconstitutional step would break us into pieces where you have to get permits to enter into different city/state... cheap politics man!

So... Are not people from UP & Bihar proud of their being of that state? So, are they also racists? When we go to US or other countries, we feel proud to call ourselves Indian and that we are having the oldest & purest culture in the World. So, being Indian means racist? Common Grow up. Being proud of self culture do not mean racism. In fact people new to this have to accept this.

Dont talk nonsense like constitutionality and all. In TN, they dont even recognize Hindi and you are telling us about constitution. We are proud of being Marathi and we are proud of our culture and achievements. You guys and your leaders didnt do and achieve anything in last 60 years and now you are jealous of our achievements. Only achievement for your leaders is the illegal recruitment in Railways. That is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and NOT our self esteem.
Looking long term without acknowledging history, or indeed, hoping it goes away gives rise to extreme reactions. Many of the present day conflicts, whether internal to a country or external, are a result of history not being reconciled (for want of a better word).
Extremist Islamists will cry Palestine and justify suicide bombers. Extremist Hindus will cry past Muslim rule and justify Gujarat. Extremist Christian groups will cry Christoslavism and justify Bosnia. And similarly for much ethnic strife in Africa, Asia and elsewhere.
If we don't want to be condemned into repeating history, we have to first understand it. Else it will be hijacked, once again, by people with bloody agendas.

Let us not tarnish good image of our motherland by encouraging caste, creed, religion & provincialism!Lallu Jie's speech of performing chhat puja in Bombay should not be misunderstood.Chhat Puja is a very holy & sacred puja & it is done to have bliss of the Sun God & purify ourselves!Let us search our heart as how far we have gone to integrate our country and strive hard to achieve our goal to make our motherland a prosperous one in the world!
