Really speaking being Indian is very complicated. In our country we complicate things and make controversies about smallest thing. All this is happening due to petty matters of people seeking cheap publicity or politicians trying to get a mileage out of any given matter. E.g. re the flag, so many are thrown on the roads and dustbins once the show is over but a for a person to simply hold it upside down by mistake is a major offence!! Indians need to be simple and go happy people. Too belligerent e.g drivers in our country never give a pass to a turning car or way to even pedestrians ; even to old people and then on the other hand we claim respect for elders. So much of bullshit. High time Indians did not show off too. You can see lots of page 3 kind saying " EXCUSE ME" and forcing their way while this courtesy is only for the other person to allow. if done it must come with a thank you afterwards. But these are show off Indians. No wonder people talk about us negatively.

What Akshay said is a very serious issue, not at all casual. Anurag, your reaction "What the hell.." says it all. The typical reaction of a rude Indian..decency and respect have gone to the dogs..
I also have some similar background as your, hence i do realize that being an India is enough to stay in any part of India and we should be proud to be an Indian( as Chitanya Mahaprabhu say's it is a great fortune to take birth in India). I am now studying in Finland, i believe Indians who stay abroad will agree with me, here i am always recognized as Indian and not as Malayali or bihari ...and when u are away from India then u realize the importance of the land... plz remember that this feeling of difference among Indians on the name of religion cast, state was build by Britisher to rule us ... hence if we continue to fight like this days are not far when any other country will rule again on us... BE AN INDIAN AND BE PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN.. Jai Hind. Pramod

This is for the first time that I have read an article on the rediff board which comes out for nationalism rather than communalism or anything else for that matter.
I really expect something like this which speaks of plain and hard facts which people should know of rather then usual vanilla and gossip stuff.
I totally agree with you.. I am from a TAM-Bram family too , but I am more comfortable inHindi and Punjabi as my father worked in public sector in the north all his life.. Am married to a Telugu and my kids speak six languages with ease..My Bro who cannot speak tamil to save his life is married to a kanndiga and we all sit down to Bisibele with relish.. Now he is in Mumbai.. and if they ask him to go home.. where will he go.. I ma seeing similar questions being raised on the Telengana issue here at Hyd..
