Hi I am a Mahrashtrian and I am ashamed by the course things have taken in the recent past. However I think majority of the maharashtrians do not feel this way, irrespective of their status in the society. In fact I was had a discussion about this with a Marathi autodriver and he said he and others like him are of the opinion that if some people want to play politics (read dirty politics)then they should do so in elections and against other parties , why drag poor people into this and deny them their daily bread and butter. Friends, this is nothing but age old practice of this and some other parties to "make their presence felt". People "employed" to take part in such violent activities are unemployed youth who would do anything for one day of free food or money. They do not understand the value of hard earned money since they havent ever "worked" for it. Hence they do not give a thought to that middle class individual's sacrifices and dreams before smashing his car. This is not new and yet we fall prey to these antics is what surprises the sane part of me.
As soon people of India (maharashtrians and others)realizes that this is just a political stunt, the better it is for all of us. 2 majorly unknown ministers, (Abu and Raj), created a controversy, even after promising they wont take bail, gets out of court in 2 hours, and they both are heroes in their respective areas. Isnt this too easy? And in the process if some innocents get beaten, looted, killed, well.... who cares about them. The leaders got what they wanted, and its all that matters to them

deepa the problem is he is igniting the lesser educated , unemployed youths who feel their life will imporve automatically once they ve sided with raj. they will still remain poor even after this fiasco only raj will add some more crores to the existing wealth of 5oo crores. rajs mother in law is worried about amits exam but she has no concerns for the thousands of poor innocent people and their families. nothing will happen to raj but ultimately he has to answer that why his hands r soiled with blood of fellow indians in the biggest court of GOD.

Its truly a great to hear a maharastrian saying that....if actually you all think Raj was wrong then the next elections should be his last elections and that will send a message to all politicains that people are not a party to such cheap things and dont want their already diffcult life to make more difficult by all this crap.

China wants our Arunachal, Pak wants our Kashmir, LTTE wants Our Tamilnadu is that not enough.
Do we also need to contribute our enemys efforts by infighting.
I think its just a political stunt to get appropriate publicity and popularity before the next assembly elections. There is no real non-Maharashtrian issue. I dont think any Maharsahtrian has any problem with any other state person. No body has time and energy left at the end of the day to spare for such trivial and non-issues.

yes its all the strategy of politicians for vote bank...but we shud not pay heed and instead of looking into these matters what is the need of the hour is to unite and help our country develop and go to even greater heights...that wud help everyone's cause...
You are talking about indians or hindus. When you talk about Indians don't stretch on any particular community or religion. You too are doing the same. Why not its the same coin with TWO FACES.

When partition was mainly on the hindu-moslem divide, with all hindus from pak driven out, what is wrong in excluding only moslem infiltration and inviting only hindu refugees? Indians can be only those committed to india, irrespective of religion. Such indian-ness cannot be given to bangla-desi infitrators coming in only to serve as votebanks for leftists, salam-vadis, babaree-laalus, paswans and gaudas with basically antinational agendas. You should augment your christian nuetrality, betw hindu and moslem, with some real national interest also.
Excessive votebank-politics of state-level parties is making the people forget that they all belong to one country called India and that state govts are just conveniences for administration. Perhaps, we should have a 5yr president's rule in each state betw one admn and the next election. During this period, an a-political admn, by the best available bureaucrats of the country as 'advisors', could bring the state on to an 'indian' consciousness and also take care any special infrastructure needs of the state with additional central funding and execution, without the corrupt extractions by state level politicians of competing parties. Decisions on the formation of some cetrally administered city states could also be taken during this period.
Perhaps, president's rule in karnataka should be extended for 5 years. The padma-awardee who built the underground train system for Delhi could be put as an 'advisor' there to build the infrastructure for bangalore region properly, without political pulls on decisions. Decision on separate city-state for bangalore could also be made, in the mean time. Selfseeking politicos like the Gaudas will lose the clout by the time next election comes after 5 yrs. Some honest and economically purposeful politicians may emerge, in the mean time.
The kind of hate politics with lowest of its level the entire nation witnessed in Maharastra, will put every citizen on shame. Shame for manything, but more over the kind of governance and polticians they have to elect to runt hsi country. The silence and shrewed poltics played by Maharastra government and central government, who looked for like favoring MNS and Raj Thackray, did nothing but a 2 hour drama of arrest instead of putting this guy behind bar for 3 years for antinational activities, continued violence and fleeing of migrants for past few days...this all put stamp over the suspecion that coutnry is not in the safe hands. Our government is more a political party than caretaker of India. Our opposition is more bothered for Rath yatra than national integration as most of the political parties too side with very calculated comments. Politics is going to break tis country is now clearly evident and now its upto the public to save this country. Only they can save it from being torned apart into pieces like dogs do with a piece of meat!

he seems bothered by the fact that most are hindus. I feel he should have been more bothered that all were Indians!
