if each and every state starts killing people of other states then we are definietly ending the nation but making nations of state. wat i don understand is the shortsightedness of political leaders for their short term gains. and i also dont understand wat do activitists of the party do?? they consider of individuals dont they have a thinking of their own? dont they have brain???

yes we as Indians have been great so far...look at our neighbours pakistan...they are fighting amongst themselves... lets not be even 1% like them...we r in a great country and economy and shud unite to see our country prosper...
Indian can live anywhere in India and if any local get hurt such idiots are not Indian, but a terrorist and such people should leave India immediately. If a Maratha or any one cannot accept other Indian irrespective of his language, region, etc., such fellows should leave India%u2026 because he is a terrorist, who cannot accept the Indianess and her rule of law. There is nothing LOCAL to give preference in any matter, but Indian is enough for a citizen of the country%u2026. Shame on such non-Indian mindsets and politicians are a shame for such State%u2026. Punish him%u2026
Good article.Perhaps, many Indians might have been thinking or have already thought and given up by doing nothing in frustration.
Having said that, people always tend to blame it on others for their inabilities, rather than stepping up in front to contribute in resolving the outstanding issues, where giving speeches and writing articles not just enough to current situations.
When there is a border issue with neighbour countries,Army is always blamed.Neither Media or Citizens care about our Soldiers problems when Cinema icons take the centre stage in Media,Politics and Crimes committed by them(no need to give example,as Amitabh related Maharashtra violence which is ongoing,Sanjay Dutt,a criminal who involved in bombing & killing hundreds of his own people, being treated as a God in Bollywood,Salman Khan for killing people in a 'hit & run' case etc.)
Why it happens?Indians often forget to know the limits, neither in controlling their emotions nor in celebrating their Icons, exposing themselves at others' disposal. There is a tendency to accept blindly the Cinema actors as their National leaders.
Along with Bollywood, now Indian Cricket is something to watch in the future.Sooner or later,it is becoming a threat. Fans are prone to violence if their favorite cricker don't play or got out with no runs. There is no surprise if Sachin fans and Ganguly fans are getting clashed. We have enough reasons to differentiate ourselves within same community.

I agree that India is one nation and the constitution provides free movement of people and settling down wherever they want. However, the recent development in Mumbai has to be carefully looked in to different perspective. Mumbai has been a welcome place for anyone at any time for any kind of survival over the past, except the situtation which existed during the early 1970s. Mumbaikars (Maharashtrians or Marathis) has been very affectionate, co-operative and peace loving for anybody ever since. However, during the past 4-5 years, when India is on its fast track of development and Mumbai has been forging ahead with growing business, buildings, infrastructure, employment etc. there has been a large scale migrants in to Mumbai, which the locals did not protest. everything was going fine till recently. However, there has been some unrest in Mumbai about the growing law and order problem, encroachments, goondaism etc. involving people of other states. Not only that, celebrating a festival/puja of another state by the people in a large scale (for the sake of showing the strength - vote power) has evoked some mixed feelings amongst the locals, which the politicians have taken advantage of.

Navratri is a festival of mainly WB and Garba is from Gujarat - has any maharashtrian opposed these festivals, which also happen in open grounds, society compounds etc. namaz is happening on the road, because all of them at one point of time cannot get accommodated inside the mosque. religion/religious belief cannot be the reason for fighting each other. muslims were never a threat to any one else's employment - It is sad that the entire ire went on to the poor vendors, and I do pity on them. but, the reasons behind the arson is totally different.

what is wrong%u2026 let the migration get reduced naturally and not by Idiots and mindless politicians word and honouring such idiots words are like following BIN LADEN%u2026 Now no one prefer Mumbai as much as it was in early years.. so nothing to worry %u2026 everything should be left to a natural process%u2026. Indian can live anywhere in India and if any local get hurt such idiots are not Indian, but a terrorist and such people should leave India immediately. hari - I totally agree with you on what you say as far as politicians are concerned... they are up to only vote bank creation/split. sadly, common people don't understand politics and they go by what the leader say - for them the leader is the protector and savior.

contd.. As far as I know (being in Mumbai for the past 35 years - Mee Mumbaikar - Jai Maharashtra - Jai Hind) not even a single local, I mean Marathi, would like to harm a local by taking law in to their hands and disturb the well knit culture of Mumbai's co-existance with other people. It is the pride of the loacal people which was effected by the show of strength by a particular states migrants made the unrest in Mumbai. While every citizen of India has the right to celebrate his/her festival/puja wherever he/she wants, it should not be for the sake of mere show of strength - and there was no reason for the leader of another party to lead a morcha etc. on that day. In this context, I am with the Mumbaikars.
