The value of Life
by sharad kumar on Feb 15, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink

I consider the value of life of the person (marathi) who has died due in Nasik is the same that of Raj. For just his political benefit and ego he has created so much goondaism in the state. I make Raj personally responsible for his death. People should see the game plan of these politicians and goons and resist any such activity. Mumbai is progressing because of joint efforts of every one living here. We should not devide ourself and keep hamony. It is in the interest of every one.
Jai Hind first then Jai Maharastha or any thing else.

CONGRATULATIONS TO TARUN VIJAY. Excellent piece of article. In-depth analysis of the goings-on across the states. We are deviding the country by statehood, caste, regligion, etc. Who says partition happend in 1947. Even today we partitioning (killing) the country in various ways and names. Politicians should stop getting into these things and do the jobs they are supposed to do and leave the rest to people to manage and live happily

Ramky,

In my view there is no differance between what Raj Thakare think and what u thinks. i am seeing you are more sick than him atleast he is doing this for vote.
you dont have any right to say such thing about any community. so better to think twice before make any statement.

Why I am this thing? Dear Sir, it is because I lived in Maharastra for a quite a long time and all people met were good people helped each other as routine business.I belong to M.P. where such kind of feelings are not there? And if RAJ Saheb is doing this for vote bank then congratulation to him and you as you support everything which was done for vote bank even attack on poors in streets? I am really sick from such happening but I has medicine for it. Do not do anything which harms anybody. What is the harm if everybody lives peacefully anywhere in this country? Is it necessary to destroy everything on the name of votebank i.e. only self interest?

That's not true. Not everyone is the same. I'm a proud Maratha myself. But I'm an Indian first. My national pride comes before my regional identity. I'm living abroad for past 6 years and I pride myself being an Indian. People like Raj Thackeray are creating this commotion for the cheap vote bank politics. Raj is "conveniently forgetting" that it's not my North Indian brothers who are a problem to Maharashtra but those OUTSIDERS: Bangladeshis, Pakistanis living on the streets of Mumbai spreading filth and creating communal tensions. All of us Indians must unite to oust these foreign filthy elements out of our country and make India paradise on the earth.

But we must face it.

The problem of those OUTSIDERS:
Bangladeshis or Pakistanis
is a creature of our own creation.

Started by Indira Gandhi during 1971
-- now itis the problems perpetrated by our
corrupt netas themselves, who have built their
own vote bank fiefdoms and abused their power
in the name of the aam admi.

Let us not blame anyone else.

Stop taking sides with Uddhav or Raj,
or Azmi / Amar / Mulayam or Lalu.

Don't vote for them and, instead, work
towards improving the quality of netas
and leaders first.

May we always be a United India where each
and every one's dream is fulfilled.

JAI BHARAT !!!

by Paras Tandon on Feb 15, 2008 04:21 PM  Permalink

I think Each stated should have a Visa system. Just like H1 B Visa. that way whomsoever is trying to go into another state wold apply for a visa and will have official approval. After India is a 'DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY* with conditions apply with that.

We the people
by XYZ xyz on Feb 15, 2008 04:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Has any one thought why politicians succeed in their divide and rule policy.

It is because we the people allow them to do so. If we the educated class raise a voice against such statements at the first instance, if we do not support them, if we do not go to their rallies, if we do not vote for them, or to say SOCAILLY OUTCAST such POLITICIANS, then no politician would dare to do this what Raj Thakray is doing - sowing the seeds of hatered.

But we do not do this. Because we have our own vested interest with these politicians for rising the social and economic ladder quickly.

It is our country, country of common people. It will become what we like it to become.

reality sucks...
by humanist on Feb 15, 2008 04:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Writer have well exposed a weak point in our country...

Anyway, one needs to look at reality also.

The states like Maharashtra and all southern states tolerated for decades industrialisation and openness compared to North India.

It is a fact well known in southern India and Maharashtra that the tax and monies paid to Govt. of India is uselessly spend on North India but not is west or south where people work hard and lead a better life.

This notion is very prevalent in states like Kerala where millions travel all over India and world for work and earn not only their living but pours foreign currency to the country. They consider their opinions are never heard in country capital since they have very less number of MPs and are low vote banks.

Lower performing North Indian gets much from Govt. and lot of problems in India for which country is spending money in from North only. Now terrorism is also being exported to peaceful states like Maharashtra and south where people till date lived peacefully.

So, anger is obvious.

Now, for Maharashtrains, they also have to check their attitude. Bombay /Mumbai is in Maharashtra for decades. Till date, even with all regional and community strong parties, why didn't we evolve economically better than others who came and stayed /went back ? One needs to think on that aspect more deeper.

well....
there is no doubt that mumbai is doing gud from a long time ... people who thinks tat they have caliber come 2 mumbai ,work hard nd fulfil there dreams tats because mumbai is the financial capital of india ... if u go back to history of mumbai people from different states start coming 2 this place to work in different industry .. people from south u have come here in 1930th have worked hard nd become rich here .... they invested in mumbai ... same is the case with the north indian people .. people like amitabh ,saurakh khan all come here with some dream and fulfill it here by there hard work .. these people have contributed very much to the economical growth of the city ... but suddenly some people just for the political gain start raising the marathi issue ...
i agree that people who live in mumbai shuld respect it ( i think most of the people do so .. every 1 keep there flat clean whether its rented or their own ..)

So if u r talking on the taxes .. people from other state who are working here pay there tax properly but some businessman who natively belong from here .. i doubt they pay their tax .. y the real sector is booming in pune nashik tats becaouse there is a demand ... who is creating the demand the people from other state who have money ... tats because they have worked hard ...
So the people from other state are also contributing to the financial growth of the city..
If u start distiguishing the people on state then the maharastra will be next assam wh

This is the matter of identity, not just the matter of paying taxes or making money.

If all big men came here and made it big, its because they can't do it in their respective states and maharashtra allowed it to happen.

Its also about attitude problem of Norths on other states in country.

Also, problem with security - like increased terrorism, criminal activities, etc. being propagated by norths.

sorry my dear friend mumbai has not developed all alone. Sixty percent of the devlopment fund goes for four metroes. Secondly you are boosting so much about taxes from mumbai. Just think tomorrow leaders of north say they will levy 20% extra duty from goods brought from west and south, how long you will be able to continue with profitability. mumbai has high tax xcollection since it has head offices of all units in india. MY ADVICE IS BE INDIAN AND THINK LIKE INDIAN.

Hah, hah, How can north leaders sit up and say "they will levy 20% extra duty from goods brought from west and south"

Ultimately, world most extremely poor people without income from south /west - in their respective states /people will have to pay up for that tax. And terrorism will increase and they will bomb each other to oblivion.

People from west /south are produces of resources. they won;t go hungry.

Same with Hindi language. While hindi is only an official language, norths are force feeding marathis or others saying its national language - which its not. OK, people will learn it as and when required.

I have found the expression of elders standing in nationalised banks or govt. offices without any idea on what they are looking at. for sake of being 'hindustani'

'xenophobia' is point well taken.

But, what about extreme cultural impacts - like effect on language marathi, lifestyle of those people ? Govt. needs to think in that angle also. Or else maharathis will have to suffer like Australian aborgines or american indians.

Norths must take this point that this is the same complaint in other states like TN /Karnataka, etc.
