I find it a bit funny...i mean not the article...but...we proudly state that NASA (an USA company) wouldnt be what it is without the contribution from the Indians(it is another issue about how true that statement is)...and also also say that one can see Indians being the major contributors to the development of many of the companies worldwide...and in the same breath we say...UP and Biharis are staying in our state...so lets throw them out.i mean...if u guys want to feel proud of being the major contributors of some OTHER COUNTRY's development...then u bl00dy well keep quite when ppl from other state (OF YOUR OWN COUNTRY mind you) are staying in ur state...how much more of this crap are we to see and tolerate???
I want to say - I told you so. See, there is no identity called "Hindu". The reason we were glories and great in the past was because of Casteism which doesnt separate people but classifies people based on their deeds and karma.
Why is hard for a Kshatriya to respect a Shudra for his work and a Vaishya respecting Brahmana for his work? In Tamil Nadu, every Temple work is sponsored by Vaishya caste, maintained by Shudra castes, protected by Kshatriya caste and orchestrated by Brahamana caste. There is no bloodshed or hatred resulting for one doing one's job.
This whole thing is started by Brits. Even under Mughlas, Hindus suffered but still maintained their identity.
There is no use to calling oneself Brahmana is he doesnt chat the Gayathri Mantra three times a day. Last names like Sharma or Dixit is just phoney-balogney historical names carried on from ancestors. Same way, a Kshatriya is not a ksatriya just by name. It depends on his/her duty and sense of religion.
I can scream all I want...but no one will listen. They will pin me down as a casteist. What to do? Its Kali...

Dude, Thats an extreme case.. Hate crimes are on rise.. a gora gets treated like this in some southern US states and kalla gets beaten up in some white dominated places.. But as an educated its our resposibility to understand are we those ppl who are involved in hate crimes??? Its the ppl who make country and country dosent make ppl..
Its a wake up call. Individuality and identity is good, but in the end, its a symbiotic life.
History has numerous examples that politics is to rule, for governance. We cannot expect politician to unite ppl. We keep blaming Britishers to have started divide and rule, but what are we as Indians doing? Rule of jungle dosent apply for humans, cos we have brains and we can use it wisely. Can expect from an under-educated or uneducated though.
Not to boast, but we have survived much better than any western civilization, having all this diversity. Differences are bound to happen, but we need know, as educated individuals, where to draw a boundary. At least we shouldn't hate someone for differences. In the end we have to live on this planet earth.
In this era of Global village where people are moving across the boundaries to sustain themselves and live a quality of life this things happening in Maharashtra are absurd and done for political mileage and nothing beyond it.It is the time common man realise this and move ahead to make INDIA a super power. This is possible only when such things are kept aside and we all work in unison.
Hi Tarun, nice article.. But may not be easy enough for great thinkers like, Raj Thakrey... In fact people like them do not have vision for India. they even do not have vision for Maharashtra. They just want to have their name in news channels and newpapers for sometime at least. Unfortunately they cannot understand that you are Indian and you are free to go and work anywhere in India.
