UP Bhaias and Biharis have been living in Mumbai sine long.Unfortunately in reacent years their numbers have multiplied beyond decent limits thanks to politicians like Mulayum and Laloo Prasad,who have misruled UP and Bihar for decades.now mayawati too has joined the party.Yet,these people living in Mumbai have started patronising the political ambitions of SP,RJD and BSP in Mumbai.Instead of quietly earning their livelyhood and shunning politics they became arrogant with incresing numbers.The result is for everyone to see.It is ridiculous to talk of the rights enshrined in our constitution.There is a limit to number of people that other states can accomodate from UP and Bihar.The time has come to regulate movement of people from one state to another otherwise disintegration of India followed by huge human tragedy will be inevitable. There is large scale migration of these people into South also.I will not be surprised if there is a back lash there too.Large scale infiltration of Bihari muslims from Bengladesh has added fuel to the problem.The nation must take the present symptoms very seriously otherwise history will repeat itself.

Being from Bangalore, which has seen very large scale migrations from all parts of India, Ithink there is a valid point in this. The migrants in a new place, initially small in numbers blend well with the local populace and culture and become integrated. A case in point are the substantial number of Iyengars in Karnataka, who spoke tamil at home but were gaints in the field of kannada literature (G.P.Rajarathnam, Gorur R.Iyengar). But the recent entrants into Karnataka, be they from Bihar or Bengal or U.P. come en masse, care little for the local sentiments and because they enjoy local numberical superiority, act in a manner that says "three hoots". Such actions may be from a minority of the migrants or majority do not endear themselves to the local populace. I have seen the change in attitude of commuters in city buses change in a little period of 5 years from people who listened to the conductor or other passengers to get away from the door so others can get in or out to those who stare at you with indifference when requested to move. Not all of them may be migrants, but this culture was defninitely absent earlier. Speaking loudly so that all the bus can hear your converstion is another trait that marks the N.Indian migrant instantly. Migrants should be like the parsi sugar in milk, not drops of lime which break it.

Dear Jai Maharashtra, I was born in Mumbai. My parents are from Gwalior, MP which was ruled by the Shindes (now Scindias). MP has cities like Indore, Ujjain which were all under Maratha rule. Now for Mumbai. Mumbai was a swamp till the earlier part of the 21st century. It was developed by the British as a port. Later, Gujarati and Parsi businessmen opened textile mills and other manufacturing units. These individuals developed Mumbai and Maharashtra. What have the people who call themselves "Maharashtrians" contributed? Strikes, sectarianism and ethnocentrism. Other states are getting developed. British were not kind to other states. Corrupt politicians take their time. So farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha. British did not develop these areas too. However, I agree with you that influx of migrants from UP and Bihar has increased drastically everywhere ( even in MP). But violence is not the solution. Suppose (very unlikely), India breaks up into its constituent states, what will happen? Can you imagine to fore go your Indian identity?
Why Raj Thackeray is talking like a Hitler. Are Maharashtrans not going overseas countries for finding job. If Maharashtr is so developed that it can't accept backward Bihari then then why they are also migrating to US, Europe, Saudi,Canada Australia etc. All 30 millions INDIANS NRI's out of which 5 millions are Maharashtras Indians(NRI's) should through back to India by overseas countries. All countries like USA,Europe,Canada,Australia etc are become so crowded and dirty because of these Illiterate and uncivilized Indians. Indians who don't have unity in their own country they don't have any rights to live overseas countries. These Indians send all money earn overseas to their native states in India.

Agreed that the state and city is overburdened with Migrants. Agree that the migrants have screwed the infrastructure and the city is drastically overcrowded. Do you as an educated person think that dragging out peo0ple from cabs and beating them and boasting about it on TV is right thing to do? This same Raj Thackrey had projected inclusive polictics when he started his party and when he did not gain much in BMC polls, this is his new cheap tactic. Do you realise the repurcussions? Tommorow everything will be seen on reigonal basis, a Marathi wont get along with a North Indian and so on. e is creating hatred amongst people for his own gain. If he has guts, let him start a movement where Work Permits are issued and strict measures are implemented to check the entry of Migrants to the state. I not a marathi but I am all support for that. What he is doing is a dangerous thing and will definately cost the country dear in future. Ask the family of teh Man who died in nashik as result of their stone pelting what they feel about this. And, ironically the MAN WHO DIED AS RESULT OF MNS STONE PELTING WAS A MARATHI !! SO, stop spreading hatred and rack your brains !!

Obviously. maharashtra is under foreign rule. Previously it was under british now it is under indans. gandhi is a foreigner so dont use his methods. fight using ak47 to eliminate enimies from maharashtra country. declare independance and be an allie with pakistan to fight india. jai maharashtra.
