What a drama! Raj, you've surpassed your Uncle already!! But do you know the buses and public property damaged by your supporters belonged to Maharashtra. A Maharashtrian is killed in Nashik as a result of violence by your supporters. His family is scarred forever...but you are back home, elated and satisfied after an apparently successful court yatra.
A Maharashtrian is killed in Nashik while a panic stricken North Indian woman, Nagma Bano, had to flee Nashik in the wake of increasing attacks and gave birth to a child in the toilet of the running train ( Bhagalpur-Lokmanya Tilak Express) today.

The judge at the Mumbai court did not find that any case against Raj Thakeray necessiating his judicial remand and hence let him out on bail.Eveery thing in Maharashtra incuding Law and Order is healthy !.

India got democracy on a platter with out working for it by Calspadeaspade on Feb 13, 2008 08:57 PM | Hide replies
The trouble with India is India got democratic rule on a platter . that is why they do not understand the responsibilities of the citizens of democracy. The western nations what ever you may say about them they worked very hard for and framed the laws together and abided by it strictly. There is 0 toerence for breaking law. In India laws are ment to be broken at every level. The reason is the GOVT and its politics. Deterioration of democracy started with Indira Gandhi. We are paying for it. We got democracy before people are educated or taught to respect laws and think logically. We are all ready to follow and fall at the feet of some saint like Sai baba or SriSri but have no respect for laws and rules.

Mr. nameless, All you are saying is nonsense brain less etc etc. Are you aware of how Indian public violates law and rules in every aspect of life. Democracy can not be a success unless laws work and people have respect for rules.

Hi, sorry that it hurt you but i completely agree with the author. we did get democracy very easily and that's why we dont respect it. dont forget that india was a gold mine for british raj and they would never had left if second world war would not have taken place. I am not denying the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters but again no one teaches us about the role of second world war in our independence. Everyone knows, how many educated people we had at the time of the independence and basically we entered into another raj era which has a face of democracy but truth is far from that. It is true that rules in our country are meant to be broken and we still spent time in worthless issues then something worthwhile, lets talk about you it dint hurt you that author said something about the country and the system but you are angry because he mentioned sai baba's name. We do need to understand the meaning of word "country/motherland" and learn to maintain its integrity. We do need to accept the reality. and last but not least we are getting westernised learn why they are successful as well along with their clothing style, learn that they are happy without babas and successful as well. Go and spend your energy in developing something which can feed and provide water to 1 billion people of india and then if you have sometime left go to babas.I am not saying that i am the most patriotic person in the world but yes thought of my country comes first well before thinking bout babas

Thank you Vivek. Our first crop of leaders after independence understood democracy and they had class. they were honest and they built great institutions for us. But the leaders that followed started ruining what was started with hard work and the ruin continues.
If North Indians wont invest in Stock exchnage and Hindi Cinema than Maharashtra Govt will bankrupt, and Maharashtra become worse than SOMALIA. Remove these two biggest assets(Stick Exchange and Hindi film Industry) of North India hindi speaking people from Maharashtra and than see the economic condition of barren land Maharashtra. Raj Thakeray will forget to wear white clothes.

the way few ppl here debate is because of thie non sense!! if u remember the same things happened in jharkhand and chhattisgarh against these same ppl!! why!! i never want that north indians should leave this place but you should remember the partisan behaviour of indira, lallu and mulayam toward the ppl of other religion and caste during previous rule which has created permanent rift in india!! only god / allh can save this nation now!! why dont north indians forgive marathi ppl and live peacfully with them instead of hate discussing and its repurcussions on tv.
If this regionalism continue, our state will become backward like up/bihar one day. we have taken best of everybody to develop maharastra, let us not ruin it to ash. there various ways to protect marathi interest instead of this hooliganism .

You will be blessed if your state becomes like Bihar. We aren't so immature to kick out Marathis from Bihar. Besides we are a state that is trying hard to move ahead. We DO NOT live in the PAST, though we have a great history. If Marathis are so worried about protecting their interest, there is obviously something seriously wrong with the community - atleast in terms of mindset. So hope you find out soon and stop being so insecure
All non-marathas living in maharashtra should try to contribute to marathi culture and economy, as that part of India, maharashtra, was a a mother to them, and gave them refuge and a livelihood.
I would appeal to all marathis to be proactive, and give vent to their sentiments in a proactive and non-violent manner.
The present problem should be solved in a harmonious manner, without causing any bitterness.

ms shalini refrain from using wrong words, all marathis are not doing nonsense on the streets, just like all jharkhandis have not partitoned bihar and up!! it is because of your upbringing u ppl feel that the whole india should talk the wau u talk!! but still i feel raj is doing harm to himself and to our community like bhindarawale!!
Dear all non maharashtrians, please dont spread hate messages against maharastrians. This is indirectly helping people like Raj Thakre. Earlier in this controversy, there was no support to Raj from common maharashtrian. But as people started abusing marathi community, now maharashtrians have started supporting Raj and his policies. I have observed many people refer them as ghatees...why? if ur behaving like this then how do u expect respect from marathi community. I have worked in many states and cities in india and my observation is that there are only 5 major states which provides conducive environment for industrial growth: Maharashtra, Gujrat, AP, Karnataka & TN. If u have experience with the other 4 states people, u will blindly say that maharashtrians are the best among all of them. I stayed in Mumbai and Pune for more than 5 yrs and never experienced even slightest of discrimination. Whereas if u go to south, u will really see the differnce. Perticularly in mumbai, marathi population is just around 25 percent. why cant they be accomodated with priority...(few people talk about merit and talent but that generally does not apply to small jobs...we all know that) This is all politics...dont fall prey to politicians. Why are we supporting SP leaders when we all know that they are the one who are responsible for our this condition. Though UP and Bihar are rich with natural resources we have no industry..we have to migrate everywhere... Think guys...hatred will not s

Hello Deepak, Do not put down other states just to support your own cause. BTW, why don't you say what discrimination you faced in the southern states, just to help the readers. Sorry to say this, people like yourself are know different from Raj Thackeray. First look inward to clean-up before starting to preach to others.

Hey Deepak, Dont try to divide India and prove that Maharashtrians are best in behavior, we all have seen what kind violent brain you have, people were already divide they were just waiting for ignition against hindi speaking people and Raj Thakeray did that, I dont see any single Maharashtrian person/leader condemning Violence by Raj Thakeray, everyone is considering him as Heroes of Folk. We all know why this anguish Maharashtrians have against North Indians, because they are ruling almost in all sectors and this is fact, Raj Thankerays and his goons do not have courage to attack IAS, most of them are from UP and Bihar, Raj Thakeray Goons do not have Courage to attack on MNC CEOs they are also from the North. Raj Thakeray and his goons they do not have courage to attack on all Mega stars in hindi Cinema, which are 90 % from UP, Bihar, and Punjab. That can attack only on poors, like Taxi Drivers, Rickshaw pullers, hawkers coolie, thats there standard and limit.

The problem is that due to the stupid governments in many northern Indian states, these states are undeveloped even though they are rich in resources. That is why these people are immigrating to maharashtra and other wealthy states.
The need of the hour is to strengthen the governance in the north indian states, create a good administration and good industrial culture and infrastructure in these states , and soon these states themselves will become rich states and will even attract migrants from maharashtra.
This is the need of the hour.
All Hindus and Indians should practice self-restraint, and work in a proactive manner to resolve this situation.
India is fast becoming an economic ,military and political superpower.
We should see to it that India keeps on growing to its peak potential, and never become a failed state like pakistan, afghanistan, somalia and bangladesh.
