Any long term resident of Mumbai and Pune knows that the average Maharastrian just piggy backs on the economic boom in these two cities and actually hasnt contributed much to the development of these two important cities that constitute the backbone of Maharastra. How many Mahrastrian industrialists are there who are in the top bracket, the Bollywood is run by North Indians, Khans, all the top positions in the businesses are occupied by South Indians. Why? Because the Owners simply dont trust the locals who wont work beyond 10 to 5. Its the others who are there who have to slog it out to make up for the lackadaisical attitude of his/her Marathi Colleague..What is Maharastra without Mumbai and Pune the city where Non-Marathis have contributed most...Even in a small industrial city like Nasik most of the small-scale entrepreneurs are Non-Marathis. So what right does the Marathi have to ask for his rights when all he has done is to thrive amidst the hardwork put up by the Non-Marathhis...

I think you probably came to Mumbai only today - what you express is a Joke - If all non Maharastrians are soooo great what do you not start industries in UP and Bihar and other such 'great' states? Why come to Maharashtra at all ? Another piece of advice, when one does not know facts, one should keep quite - at least in that way others do not come of know of your ignorance
whatever Raj's point maybe, there is no justification for the violence. one man died in nashik, and the irony being that this man was a marathi. violence is not the solution here.
I think most of us are missing the point here - I think what Raj said was NOT incorrect however the way he said it and went about smashing the poor local people was incorrect - There needs to be some kind of rule/law that would dissuade people (any cast or religion) from coming into Mumbai purely bcoz Mumbai is bursting from its seams. It CANNOT handle any more people - also look at what has Happened to UP/Bihar - people who oppose what Raj said should remember we DO NOT want to make this another UP/BIHAR from a Law and Order perspective.
I believe the day are nor far when Marathis will have to remain confined to Maharshtra, Gujaratis in Gujarat, Biharis in Bihar, Upites in UP, Assamese in Assam. Ambanis have to go set up company back in Gujarat. Sayajirao Gawekwad has to sell his property in Vadodara and buy a property in Bhandup, Tatas have to come back to Navsari. Thanks to Raj Thakrey/ Abu Azmi and their blind supporters at least we all have started feeling that way. Thyese political novice have no statesman qualities and never been able to raise beyond divisiveness. Little they realize the all are in partner in crime. Dawood ( from UP) have more number of Marathi Policemen in its pay roll then his victims. Abu Salem could not have networked so easily if some policemen in Oshiwara Police station would not be in Business Partnership with him. As far as petty crimes are concerned Maharashtrian goons are as active as Bihari, UP or a South Indian Anna...
Hitesh, Your reply to Rahul was in Marathi so I couldn't figure out what you meant but I wanted to tell you how I feel. I know that Marathis are against UP/Biharis this time but this is not a new drama. Sometimes they pick Muslims and some other times they pick Gujaratis/South Indians etc. Don't support this movement as your community could be next. Politicians have figured out that Marathis are emotional folks and the easiest way to win elections is to keep them feeling insecured.
