North India needs to eliminate the caste system
by Kumar on Feb 14, 2008 02:30 AM  Permalink

North India needs to eliminate the caste system quicky so that a civil society can be established that has law and order, job opportunites, education, health care and infrastructure. In the past, the poor people from North India were migrating outside to get basic necessities of life by getting low paid, back breaking jobs. But with the rise in language based bigotry and hatred in other states there is a grave need for the industrally backward north India to develop fast. Unfortunately the key challange facing north India is a castiest society that is ruled by the bigoted, hateful, non-compassionate and violent upper castes. These so called upper caste elite mentality is the result of supression of the majority Buddhism religion and it's eventual replacement by Hindusim by the dirty games played by the upper caste elite. These guys retain their ruthlessness, criminal mind, lack of ethics and morality that they have inflicted on the lower caste people even after these lower caste have embraced the Hindu religion and are working hard peacefully for a low pay.

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate
by Attatar Yena on Feb 13, 2008 11:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate. No doubt about that. Certainly these places cannot accommodate all of Bihar and UP and the question is why should they ?? Has anybody thought about this ?? It is high time that we the people of this country decide on this issue which has serious implications on all areas that affect quality of life. Raj Thakerey's protest against UP and Bihars (not all Northies as media says) is the first step in that direction. So why should Raj be blamed ??
When DMK supports LTTE why is there no concern about regionalism ??
When Akalis install the portrait of Gernail Singh Bihdrawale in Dam Dami Taksal (who wanted to break up India) why was there chilly silence among the desh Bhakts ??
When Bengalis openly rioted to protest against exclusion of Saurabh Ganguly from Indian Cricket team where were the media that cries foul against regionalism??
When Biharis were slaughtered in Assam why was media silent?? Where was all the love for biharis then ??
The truth is people from UP and Bihar have swamped the states like Delhi, Orissa, Assam, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Wherever they go they start behaving like they are in Azamgarh or Siwan. They do not respect the culture in which they go. Raj Thakeray's fight is against those that want to convert maharahstra into azamgarh or Siwan. This fight is not for jobs or resources but to maintain local culture and avoid lawlessness of UP and bihar.

CONTD...Lalu and Amarshing should drown in chulu bhar pani because it is their failure that people from UP and BIhar are flocking to other states. What have they done to improve the situation in UP and Bihar?? Before commenting on what is right and wrong these leaders should get out of their AC cars and mix with common people instead of partying with bollywood celebrities. Just ask what people of Orrisa, Delhi, Assam, and Rajasthan think about people from UP and Bihar and you will know why the Raj Thakeray got so much support in Maharashtra . As for Abu Azmi, he is ISI agent and a traitor. He incited muslim mob in mumbai to riot which directly lead to death of two policemen last year. People will not forget nor forgive traitor Abu Azmi.

The issue here is..raj thakrey says that north indians are disrespecting maratha culture...i simply do not understand it. Give me one instance. I myself am frm delhi and i participated in the community celebration of ganesh utsav and navratri etc.
And who says whole of UP Bihar has come to Mumbai? Do you have any idea whats the population of these states?
And one more thing...On your passport..ur INDIAN and not MAHARASHTRIAN. People from other countries read separatist views like yours and make their impression about the country as a whole. Buddy, Its give-and-take in all walks of life. North India grows majority of grains which gets distributed throughout the country, so if there are job opportunities in any part of india, then why cant they go there and work if they are eligible.
And who says there was no hue-and-cry when biharis were killed in assam? read news papers dude...get a reality check. In my opinion, if any INDIAN is persecuted in any part of the world, then EVERY Indian must raise their voice and back them up.
Arrey yaaro...kuch to sharam karo...use ur mind...think first ki us aurat ka kya jurm thaa that she had to flee from Nasik and give birth in train's toilet. Mumbai (or any other place) is place will lose its sanctity if goondas like raj/azmi spread violence and idiots like their followers do not understand their vicious interests.

My friend,
I agree with you but don't you think if UP & Bihar minister would have taken proper development steps in their own state rather than indulging in corruption and celebrity limelite, today it would have been different scenario. Don't you think UP & Bihar have cheap labor if proper infrastructure is provided in UP & Bihar we can compete with China. Corruption is everywhere but UP & Bihar are baaps of all. Look at Mayawati hardly a couple of years as Chief minister but see the wealth accumulated by her. Abu Azmi is one of the shameless politician. Haven't done any good in his own state & comes here like massiah for Biharis. People like him should be punished they are the root cause for common man sufferings. Although Raj wants to take leverage of this issue but a common Mumbaite even including non-marathis somewhere agrees with him.

All this is Unjustified
by Munish Bahl on Feb 13, 2008 07:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India being a democratic country, there is no need for whatever is happening in Maharashtra. Everyone here is free enough to live, work and worship as per his/her own wish. If a handful of MNS people think that "outsiders" are doing anything wrong to them then there are democratic ways to tackle this. However what has happened in last few days suggests that NMS people are "afraid" of their jobs, language, culture being taken away by migrants/businessmen from Notrh. This simply implies that they don't have confidence in their own culture that it can withstand all this. If Raj or his group is so concerned about their culture, then why don't they organize functions, seminars for people from outside to make them familiar to this. However this seems to be a time taking and more painful than spreading hatred and violence to gain grasp of vote bank. Being from Punjab I can say we never attack Marathi people living here, rather invite them to our functions, and this is the true INDIAN culture.

India has never really been one Nation.

It was always a loose federation of beliefs, ideologies, cultures and geographies.

You mean thanks to Raj
all Maharastrians are
having to bear the brunt
of it -- like Telangana,
Assam, Nagaland and now
Mumbai.

The root of such regional conflicts
lie in the sense of loss of our
regional identities to "outsiders"

This is because we do not think we
are a nation (... not until and unless
Pakistan attacks us).

Then all the regional goons go underground
or pretend to be part of National Home Guards.

What's any state without others....??
by anant johri on Feb 13, 2008 07:36 PM  Permalink

Think India as a big family with proper division of labor...Mumbai (not whole maharashtra) is the financial capital...UP/Punjab/WB/orissa/HP/Haryana are food providers (if they stop providing wheat/rice, people in other states will starve), Again Punjab/Bihar/Haryana/HP/Rajasthan contributes majorly in defense personnels (if they backout, who will protect the country)....
Also, most of the wealth coming into Mumbai (not whole maharshtra) is through Gujrati and Sindhi businessmen (so if they go back to their respective places, what money will remain in mumbai?), Our seven-sister states provide lots heritage/natural resources (they are our front-liners against invasive east), Out south Indian states are the religious, cultural nd technical hubs . BUT are any of these individual states have ANY ENTITY without each other??? the answer is NO. Will any building survive if any on pillar is broken ?
If Maharashtra backs-out of Indian republic, we will definitely loose lot of rich culture and heritage (which will be unfortunate)...but ask these businessmen of mahrashtra, who they are with - India or Maharashtra (will they have any international standing if they loose Gate-pass that INDIA provides?)...So one should not live in any false pride...we are what we are bcause we are together...otherwise we are nothing...Nobody should disrespect any culture (in or outside the state) and must learn the importance of each other. Each culture is grand enough not to be affected by few people.

by Karan Singhal on Feb 13, 2008 07:32 PM  Permalink

its really disheartening to see all the so called LITERATE people behaving like this on a forum, where everyone is just trying to impose theirselves upon other(just like our politicians),is this the way we wanted our country to be? i do still believe that india doesnt have enough penetration in terms of internet connection in every household, still people who are from middle class might have it(though not all of them)but the talks from this forum dosnt seem to be....most of them are just talking crap,WHY and FOR WHOM? wake up people......now we are not being ruled by britishers,we are now ruling ourselves, then why are our politicians are adopting their(britishers) policy of divide and rule? havent we suffered enough in past why are we headin the same way? think of the PLEDGE that you used to recite and was and is there in every TEXT BOOK when you were STUDYING !! if you dont remember grab one and read it,it might make some sense afterall.

Isolate Maharashtra
by Ramanath Babu on Feb 13, 2008 07:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The central government should immediately take action and ensure that all ongoing projects funded by Central government is withdrawn in Maharashtra. If Maharashitrans believe that their state is for them only, then such kind of action is needed. People from other states should come back their respective states. Let us see what Mumbai, Nagpur and other major cities of Maharashtra looks like, if people from other states go back. Industrial production will suffer, and the industrialists will have no other option, but to re-locate their factories. Maharashitrians will learn a lesson only if such a thing happens.

Let us pray to the God that good sense prevail on them.

Babu

Laluji moves exam centres from maharashtra to elsewhere . Why If u r right Then Go ON?? If u dont want such explosions why dont u publish RAILWAY RECRUITMENTS in all papers? Dear Friend, Agree that killing or fighting is not the way, but have to find middle path. advertise in maharashtra local papers too. Why UP & BiHaris are in RAILWAY??
