A fruit vendor is more concerend about his livelihood then making comments about local people...if the Maharastrians have the guts hit well off people in Mumbai who are from North India...why assault poor people, taxiwalas, labourers...this only shows how coward they are...I am sure if this does not stop soon...Maharastrians will be assualted all across India....

Yes,U r right, giving such statements are not in the interest of common people.Of course, maharashtra is a part of India and there is nothing wrong if people are migrating to maharashtra for the sake of Job. I also agreed with you on the front that North Indians are running the states in North India. Do you justify the way Bihar and UP is being governed? The states like UP and Bihar are still miled away from terms like industrialization, Globalization and other TIONs. dont you think that the state govts in UP and Bihar should do everything to provide Job and shelter to their Own people. Both the states are corrupt and have no future. Do you think that migration from one state to other will solve the problem of the Nation. If something goes wrong on Mumba( natural calamities),all north indians, South indians will go back to their own states to save their lives, Where the maharashtrians will go. Have you ever think of this? Is this migration going to make us Mumbai Like Shanghai and SIngapore. I will tell you a story: The ex prime minister of Singapoer visited mumbai a month back and he made a statement that If we want to make Mumbai like shanghai, we must control the population and migration. If a prime minister of singapore can think so rationally then Why we cannot? I being maharashtrian is ready and happy to welcome people across the country, But we all must understand the limits of the city. You cannot keep on pumping population into one city and leave it on its faith. Try t

All shoulid unite
by devdass on Feb 12, 2008 03:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is time for all Hindus to unite and fight tooth and nail divisive forces within or else we would be playing into the hands of terrorists and what ever has been achieved by India sofar would be destroyed! It is high time dividing selfish politicians are put to place. Central Govt. should act before it is too late!

Its too late for Hindu unity. Right now the only person who is willing to defend things like chaath pooja and UP/Bihar people is a muslim named Abu Azmi. He will get my vote anytime.

Why Should we take the burden?
by Milind on Feb 12, 2008 03:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Imagine this, You-first house and your neighbor-second house is provided with house and resources to eat and live...

After some time you realize that your neighbors%u2019 kids come over to eat with you... you accept it saying just kids what is the big deal?

Later he sends his guests to your house for dinner... you say it is ok it happens sometime...

After that he lands in your house with his wife because his house is full of filth and problems s... and ask you to adjust with it...

What will be your reaction...

Before replying give a single thought to the other people who are living in first house?

This is one of the most stupid arguements anybody can give. A land is not anybody's property. You have to buy it. It belongs to government. Hope it clears your misconceptions.

Don't think you have put in a clever argument! Take note thuosands of immigrant Indians cheerinf Indian Cricket team in England and Australia! If my house has been built by you neighbors and now you want him to get out. What about Indians living in US,Malasia,Singapore and Srilanka? You want them to be called back. You think twice before indulging in parochial thoughts!

Milind - are you talking about Mumbai. Your logic seems to be apt for an older and more serious "Israel - Palestine" problem. I wonder why people can think of such issues only when their house is at stake.

Anycase, every person in this country has equal right to work & live anywhere he/she wishes. The very assumption that you consider Mumbai as your "exclusive" home is contentious. I can't believe few poor hawkers from other states as the cause of these problems.

As India is more urbanized, people have to invent themselves to survive. Scapegoating someone for your problems is not a healthy sign.

MNS is not a representative of Maharashtrians!!!
by Saurabh Nirantar on Feb 12, 2008 03:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Indian brothers and sisters : Don't consider the actions of MNS as representing Maharashtrians! I am a Maharashtrian, and proud of it, but much more than that I am an Indian!!
I can vouch for a majority of Maharashtrians that we do not share the regionalist perspective of the MNS!

This country belongs to all Indians, and they are free to travel/work/settle anywhere they choose.

Look at the example of pakistan, they released the genie of partition out of it's bottle, and their country has already been split one further time. Now there is a distinct possibility of Balochistan/Sindh/NWFP separating.

If you want to focus on differences, you can find millions. This is a slippery slope to ruin!!

MNSwalas : aslya karyanne tumhi deshacha dusra partition ghadvaal. Mag Vidharbha, Marathvada, Konkan che loka regionalist zhale tar tyanna kaay mhanoon thambval??? Vichaar kara!

although the message of oneness u give is true but the point u say of islam being the only propogator of peace and others preaching hatred is completely out of line.Just the way you muslims claim to love another muslim similiarly all hindus irrespective of languages do have their religion in common and unite as one when Hinduism or India is at stake. Also inspite of it's message of peace Islam does not unite the Pakistanis-(Baluchis vs sindhis vs waziristanis vs punjabis) or the Iranians who fought a long bloody war with the iraqis and still are at each others throats and there are many such examples of beautiful brotherly love in your muslim world!!It is good we are not having such goodness nor do we need to learn it from you muslim zealots...history is proof that muslims have fought each other, betrayed each other and killed in the name of Allah..may he forgive you guyz although it will be difficult for him to do so as he taught you love but all you gave the world is hatred and what not!And about other religions it is the prophetic religions which claim only themselves to be true and others a farce..all eastern religions have always taught love and peace and universal brotherhood and history is proof of this...So please don't preach to us what we know already instead go put some of your love to use in the Islamic world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your view seems to be quite nobel here, but it doesn't matter. What matters most is Maharastra govt. steps to ensure - it's a paradise for every Indian. Govt. stand so far has been very callous like most other state govts. in India.

Probably this is the problem in democracy - a govt cannot be firm even against these divisive hooligans.

Current Situation of Nasik to be felt in entire Maharashtra soon... If this goes on...
by Souvik Jana on Feb 12, 2008 03:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Most of the UP/Bihar Labour Workforce people have fled Nasik and there is an acute shortage of labour at present..... If all the labour community people from UP/Bihar goes out of Maharashtra then there will be an acute shortage of labours in the entire State... Even if all the Marathi people of Maharashtra comes together they will not be able to replace this labour community... And hence the industries and economic situation of Maharashtra will go down... Think about that before you do anything....
