time for mumbai citizens to speak up.........
by Pradip Parekh on Feb 13, 2008 05:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

.... and make sure the police commissioner enforces the law against this thug abu wahtever. more than likely the commissioner is under political pressure to "diffuse" the situation instead of enforcing the law. he should have had no meeting with the thug. it's a shame thugs can walk into police commissioner's office - in mumbai!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abu Azmi is an ISI agent ..
by Attatar Yena on Feb 13, 2008 05:24 AM  Permalink

Abu Azmi is ISI agent and a traitor. Police commissioner Ronald Mendonca in 1997, had said in an affidavit submitted to Mumbai high court that SP politician Abu Azmi is Dawood Ibrahims man. Recently, Abu Azmi incited muslim mob in mumbai to riot which directly lead to death of two policemen last year. People will not forget nor forgive traitor Abu Azmi.

Hindi hatao!
by on Feb 13, 2008 05:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Enough is enough with this damn Hindi. Why the hell it is forced upon Hindi non-speaking people. Thee pea brained bhaiyas first of all, don't speak any other language, and those who try speak (non Hindi) they make fun of them like Tamilian speaking in Hindi. Why should a inferior langauge be forced upon the native language when the native is as old and as rich if not even older than Hindi.

Dravidians no doubt have their own history. Also, there is a reason why the Punjabis/Gujratis/Rajasthanis fought the most against invaders. Bharat owes a lot to them, more so than, say Tamil Nadu. And yet look how they have embraced Hindi and other uniting factors. I have yet to come across a Punjabi who hates Hindi.

Besides, languages are not to be compared on par, say, my d*ck is bigger and better than yours. There is no better language than Sanskrit. Period. If you accept this then Hindi/Devnagri is the closest thing to Sanskrit. Period. Prove me wrong.

Also, Hindi was never forced on Tamilians. I do not know Tamil so can not vouch for it's pros and cons vs. Hindi. However, there is a very good reason why Hindi is considered to be de-facto national language of Bharat vs. say, Bengali or Tamil. No offense to my Bengali and Tamil bhais.

Think before your speak. It aint a contest about my d*ck is bigger and better yours. Hindi is a uniting factor. Other regional languages, I am afraid do not offer the same bang!

Ban Hindi
by on Feb 13, 2008 05:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In order to contain this cultural invasion, Hindi should be banned from all states (hindi non speaking), like Tamil. Why the hell we should be forced to speak Hindi, rather introduce English, the global langauge, or for that matter chiense the next "economic" language. Why the hell hindi?

For the same reason why Bombay is now known as Mumbai and Bangalore as Bengaluru.

In democracy, majority rules and Hindi is spoken by Majority of Bhartiyas. What's your next question?

Lets relocate large enterprises outside Mumbai
by Telveer on Feb 13, 2008 04:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Since Mumbaikars in particular and Marathis in general feel over crowded, lets relocate all large industries from Mumbai and surroundings to other states. If there is no incentive for people to move to Mumbai, they will not come there. Problem is that Maharashtra never objected when so many projects were concentrated in their area. Secondly, for many decades now, they never bothered about immigrant population. Most immigrants settled in slums since they had no other place to go. Eventually, this mushroomed out of proportion.

as long as BIMARUS dosent ment their ways no industry will go to those states. they should first control law and order, improve their standard of education and obivously stop breeding like rats.

In other words, in computer language, create a Self Denial of Service. Who needs a virus when the user himself is hell bent of shutting down the computer!? This idea is baloney! In Dubai, Emiratis are in minority and most the jobs that are driving the economy is being done by Malyalias, UPites, Biharis, Pakistanis, Bengladeshis etc. Does that mean they should move Dubai to Thar or Timbaktu? Heck! the Emiratis are neither in number nor in working habbits to do the jobs.

Same applies to Marathis or in any progressive job movement. US has Mexicans. West India has UPites and Biharis, Dubai has Malyalis etc.
If the Marathis are so hell bent of securing the jobs that UP walas and Bihar walas are taking in Maharahstra then why don't they fight it in the Rajya and Lok sabha!? Besdies, what jobs are being taken away!? Thela wala, Chana Wala, Taxi Wala, Pani Wala, Dhoodh Wala! Bloody hell. If a Marathi is so proud then let him come forward and do the same. If not then jobs will naturally go to those who want to do it. Period.

In 60s, Bal Thakrey tried the same mantra. This time it won't be that simple. His own family is divisive on the issue, let alone rest of the India or Maharashtra. Go sip some chai and cool down. It's easy to write crap here than face the harsh conditions of the people are suffering! Besides, where do you think tax money comes from? State economy is not grown over the trees. You need tax payers. And if you pay tax, your rights are same as the other tax payer.

Telveer, what u mean by "let us relocate factories". Having milked mahrashtra and mumbai for last four decades, now you suggest relocate. If relocation was an option the industry would have been long time gone, as labor cost is very expensive in maharashtra. Why do you think industry is concentrate in maharashtra, gujrath, TN, Karnataka, AP, and
Punjab, it oes to local people's talent and resources. The exodus from UP and Bihar is for low jobs, where there are few takers.

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate
by Attatar Yena on Feb 12, 2008 11:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate. No doubt about that. Certainly these places cannot accommodate all of Bihar and UP and the question is why should they ?? Has anybody thought about this ?? It is high time that we the people of this country decide on this issue which has serious implications on all areas that affect quality of life. Raj Thakerey's protest against UP and Bihars (not all Northies as media says) is the first step in that direction. So why should Raj be blamed ??
When DMK supports LTTE why is there no concern about regionalism ??
When Akalis install the portrait of Gernail Singh Bihdrawale in Dam Dami Taksal (who wanted to break up India) why was there chilly silence among the desh Bhakts ??
When Bengalis openly rioted to protest against exclusion of Saurabh Ganguly from Indian Cricket team where were the media that cries foul against regionalism??
When Biharis were slaughtered in Assam why was media silent?? Where was all the love for biharis then ??
The truth is people from UP and Bihar have swamped the states like Delhi, Orissa, Assam, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Wherever they go they start behaving like they are in Azamgarh or Siwan. They do not respect the culture in which they go. Raj Thakeray's fight is against those that want to convert maharahstra into azamgarh or Siwan. This fight is not for jobs or resources but to maintain local culture and avoid lawlessness of UP and bihar.

Bloody hell. Such battles are won in assemblies by law. Not by burning and killing innocent lives. UK recently raised taxes for immigrants. It has worked in UK's favor. However, the Marathis, Punjabis and other and so called upper class and progressive society is not happy about the ruling. Is that a double standard? Sure. However, the UKites have dealt with it properly by passing a law. Not by burning cars and killing people.

As far as your example of Bihar and UP is concerned - you are correct. It has not been as progressive as other states. However, it's problems and issues have been divisive since centuries and still continue to do so. It takes time. On the same token, Western UP has done better than Eastern UP. Shit takes time...

By the way, your example of patriotism is flawed. Jhansi wali was born and raised from Kashi. Thkshila and Nalanda need no lesson from today's partial thoughts i.e. pay the tax but leave if we start getting in minority. There is a reason every 6th man is Indian in the world. Scale your regional issue globally and you will find the answer you are looking for. No need to sweat on something which is natural. River flows naturally where it finds a path and slope. A worker will do the same for his lively hood. Especially in India where ever shrinking farms no longer meet the needs of the poor. He will move..be it Bombay or Bangalore. Just as a Gujarti will move to Kenya or United States. Simple as that!

Lalu and Amarshing should drown in chulu bhar pani because it is their failure that people from UP and BIhar are flocking to other states. What have they done to improve the situation in UP and Bihar?? Before commenting on what is right and wrong these leaders should get out of their AC cars and mix with common people instead of partying with bollywood celebrities. Just ask what people of Orrisa, Delhi, Assam, and Rajasthan think about people from UP and Bihar and you will know why the Raj Thakeray got so much support in Maharashtra . As for Abu Azmi, he is ISI agent and a traitor. He incited muslim mob in mumbai to riot which directly lead to death of two policemen last year. People will not forgot or forgive traitor Abu Azmi.

DO YOU KNOW? 35 YEARS BACK, THERE WAS A RAJ THAKERAY IN TAMILNADU...
by MGR Fan on Feb 12, 2008 10:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MGR was the most loved TamilNadu politician right from 1950s end and by early 1970s, he was most popular personality in TN. DMK under Karunanidhi was jealous of MGR and pressurised him to quit acting. He refused.

MGR then questioned the accounts and family income of Karunanidhi.
Karunanidhi expelled MGR from DMK.
He called MGR as "That Malayali Fake Artist Fraud"

DMK supporters attacked Malayalee shopkeepers in TamilNadu and anyone who was against the undemocratic regime of DMK was branded as enemy of Tamils. Non Tamil South Indians were terrorised by DMK for many years.

The people of tamilnadu taught DMK a lesson in 1977 elections and voted MGR to power.

MGR remained in power for 3 more elections and DMK cameback to power only after MGR's death. DMK stopped raising bogey of other state people from that point of time.

So Maharashtra people should also learn the history of Raj Thakerays in other states and how they changed their colors with time.

Just like hindutvas dislike sonia gandhi because she is born in foreign country tamil people disliked MGR because he was malayalee fellow and not even born in tamilnad. He was born in ceylon now sri lanka. He was openly encouraging kerala people to settle down in madras and secretly giving all the licences and jobs to malayallee people at the cost of tamils.SO dmk fellows oppossed MGR.He was popular not because of what DMK did to malayalees but because he was a philanthropist and always helped the poors.
