Rediff has given a very poor coverage to the passing away of Baba Amte- Shameful indeed- less said the better- Baba Amte was the only true follower of Mahatma in this era

baba amte and other great soul
by Alpa M Bhuta on Feb 10, 2008 05:50 AM  Permalink

good people/soul like baba amte, mahatma gandhi, sardar vallabhair patel, subhash chandra bose, mother teresa, they had one thing in common. they made a goal not to earn a title of mahatma or bharat ratna, but to do something for the country, mankind. it is us who gave all these good ppl a title. they do not care about it. they get a good title from god, and even then they are not egoistic.

if they have to come back on this earth, they will do the same without any ego, or craze for recognition, because that is short lived. it is the best wishes from the inner core of heart of ppl which makes them happy besides helping them in need or pain.

It is the usual unfortunate experience of ant-marathi bias nututered by the rest of indians. That would hardly belittle the importance of this great soul.

This man was a GOD reincarnated as man.
by kanu kangal on Feb 10, 2008 02:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I read his story when I was in college..... In the history of man kind I have never heard of a selfless person like him. People find it difficult or too traumatised to even see a leper. He used to carry them, clean their wounds and rehabilitate them. Even though he himself had bad back which needed support, some time his back pain was so bad that he could not move his body for days. Still he kept on doing what he did. May his soul rest in peace and may he be the man of inspiration for man kind especially people who are involved in mindless violence..

BABA AMTE IS BHARAT RATNA

Great hindus like Baba Amte are born only once in a century. The holy land of Hindus has produced divine beings like Baba again and again.

Irresonsible Indian media
by on Feb 10, 2008 02:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Usually Indian media including rediff is so quick to vomit garbage on net in the name of journalism that inludes news like what Britney Spears is doing, and and what Richard Gere is doing or about Raj Thackrey's and his ilk like Amar Singh, Lalu, Yadav, Mayawati. But when it came to a legend like Baba Amate, the news is published so late relatively and so little. Few lines is what they can write about. What a pity! We are really going down the tubes, and the path is led by this sensational media who cares about only "hot" news

Totally agree with you. Rediff's popularity is dipping. Instead of highlighting the achievements of Baba Amte and others who do so much good to society, Rediff focusses on the film industry and its cronies.

I agree with you - Rediff will never even take a note of this and try to improve. It would be too much to expect from Rediff.
