Lives of great men all remind us,
We can make our lives sublime.
And departing leave behind us,
Footprints on the sands of time.

Baba Amte Passes Away
by Mandar Walvekar on Feb 09, 2008 11:08 AM  Permalink

Today, India has lost a legend of humanity and and a Karmayogi who devoted his life in selfless service to the society. The harm will hardly be repaiarable for few years. However, his able sons and their children are all inspired to continue his mission. Let us all support their noble cause and help them out in the best possible ways we can. GOD HAS ALREADY RESERVED A PLACE ALONGSIDE HIM FOR BABA TO REST IN PEACE FOREVER. I appeal to all those who believe in his work to send their One-Day salary as a token respect to Anandvan and observe One-day fast in salutation. May God give long life to Sadhanatai, who devoted entire life with Baba and also brought up two sons to an equal heights. Really, this is a noble family.

Great Soul
by rakesh raina on Feb 09, 2008 11:08 AM  Permalink

True we lost his physical presence, but we should remember that everybody is going to exit this world one day. If we really love great people like him we must contribute towards the ideals that they stood for. Otherwise it is no use to harp on the glory of others. We are also human beings from the same earth , why we should only see to others what they did without thinking what we can do for the benefit of society.sTOP MAKING PHOTOCOPIES AND TRY TO BE ORIGINAL.

He is survived not only by his two sons, as the news says, but also by his wife SADHANATAI who also has a contributed a lot in the service of lapors. Baba's demise
by Sandeep Gharat on Feb 09, 2008 11:07 AM  Permalink

Our country has lost a noble soul. What a great man. Not only he gave a shelter to the dejected and rejected poor leprotics but also taught them to become self reliant. He devoted his whole family, including wife Sadhana tai, sons Prakash and Vikas, and daughters in law to the cause of Anandwan.
May god rest this noble soul in eternal peace.
