If convicted, Kumar will face a maximum sentence of five years or will have to fork out Rs 5 lakh as fine, or both.

WOW! isnt it sounds funny?

indeed, the law and tough punishments are made in india is for poor only not rich.

however we dont know whether he is the real one kidney dealer? or there are many along with and behind him?...... lets sit n wait, then forget!

Dr.Amit
by arungopal agarwal on Feb 09, 2008 10:32 AM  Permalink

Is he a culprit for Nepal also or Nepal is favouring India?
For kidney patients, Dr.Amit had been GOD, He took advantage of the poverty of India and purchased kidney at very cheap rates, sold it with his bumper profit. He has not done any crime, poor fellows can sell anything for their two times meal. It is for the Govt. to know that even after 60 years of independence, we are having poverty to such extent.

Hope this doesn't go the way CBI handled Q!
by sri sri on Feb 09, 2008 10:30 AM  Permalink

Proper proosecution of the rich and the mighty has not taken place in India ever since we got independence. Those who have the means go scotfree or escape with minimal punishment. All this due to one single malace called 'corruption'. If I am given a chance to decide, I will make corruption a serious crime that will attract capital punishment. Then everything will fall in its place. In this case, depending on the extent to which the culprit can corrupt the officials, he may even be freed by Nepal Govt witha penalty of Rs.5 Lacs and vanish the way the famous 'Q' has done in the bofors case! lets wait and see!

Instead of deporting him they will now drag him to court in Nepal
by V S on Feb 09, 2008 10:30 AM  Permalink

.. and soon he will either escape or he will bribe his way to a lesser sentence.

Basically CBI has managed to ensure he won't come to India and blow the lid off many corrupt politicians and police that is involved in this.

Nepal Police
by RANGARAJAN on Feb 09, 2008 10:22 AM  Permalink

The Nepal Police personnel do not know how to negotiate with him.Had they asked Rs 1 crore, they would have got it.They should have taken the bribe money and let him out as otherwise our legal system will take decades to decide his fate and one day he will become a rising star like our politicians. In what way Nepal police have got benefited?

What a joke

God, We Indians are so slack. 5 years RI for this monster is like a slap on the wrist. He must spend rest of his life behind bars, with no possibility of parole.
How can we let him back on our streets. Although I would hate to see us follow the Chinese, atleast in this one instance, it would have helped to have a system like them. This guy would have surely faced life in jail, if not death.

The punishment should be so severe that no one does it again. Besides life term, take out one of his kidney, eyes and whatever possible and fix to some needy poor.

Wake up day dreamer. Bush and blair or any one from west will even think about such incidents.
they will talk and act if and only if OIL is involved.
These are all small incidents for them as they are bigger killers arround the world.
We should be proud that we have a PM who is a good human being with clean charecters and good governance.
Most of all he is not involved in any killing and not wanted internationally as these two.
Our sardarji is much better than that charecterless Cowboy.

As per the news reports the Nepalese Police have performed better than their Indian counterparts. In India Amit and his cohorts got away with bribing the Police once (his accomplices confession) whereas in Nepal the Police arrested him in spite of his attempt to bribe them.

Unless untill some of the top officials and reputed persons will be involved in that bullshit act. It's not going to happend, as nepal can't dare of leaving him. Unless those sitting in power in our country are involved with him in whole episode.
