Besides stoping rumours they are spreading it widely again and again i think all media person should think that they got high responsibility instead of masala news .
Try to maintain our national integrity first.

A beggar in South India is more happy than a businessman in the great Mumbai.

The former does not have to fear being beaten up for plying his wares, trade, or seeking alms by his own countrymen.

The latter is threatened - never knows when what he has accumulated for all his life is threatened - under peril.

Forget Mumbai being the commerical capital of India...bye bye Mumbai...go back to ur fishing business.

All you bollybood blokes, you made fun of South Indians...if u wanna peace come over..be South India's guests.

THERE IS NO HATRED IN THIS MSG.

Hey Dinesh, what dou mean attitude of Southies?

The ppl over the vindiyas have had such a patronising view, a condescending outlook on South indians.

Just go out and ask any person from abroad who has been in different part of India what their impression is.

If Mumbai is so great as it claims to be...why do MNCs prefer the south to invest?

Afterall Kolkotta and Chennai were more than a City before Mumbai and Delhi were less than a village.

Human Rights commision is a pet dog a stooge of the United STates.

It does not function independently.

RAMACHANDRA MURTHY : TELL me on western country or politician who has been held responsible for genocide or for human rights violation.

Let us Indians sort out our trouble. We do not want Western stooges to come and give us their outdated justice.

Remember India was a democratic country much before UK and USA.

Free suffarage - elections were held in 1951 - much later was equal rights given in US or in UK.

SLOBADON MILOSEVIC, RATKO MLADIC , RDAVAN KARADZIC - they are Serbians - they are not western - they are eastern euripeans considered to be on the side of the Russians.

The South Africans behind apartheid, the Brits for illegal occupation for 350 years in Asia, Americans for Nuke bomb or French, portugese, spanish for 350 years in Asia and africa have never apologised or brought before the humabn rights.

The australian PM yesterday apologised to the aborigines for stolen generations.

Let us Indians solve our problems.

We do not want any western country to stand judgement on our issues.

If they visit Chennai, let them pose questions in Tamizh or in English.

Is it not patronising on the part of anybody to expect others to speak their own language.

Well do anyone from Cochin or from Madurai when in Mumbai expect a response to a query in their langauge?

South India has become part of the global community - visitors from any other nation feel more engendered in South India. They dont feel the hosility that they feel in other parts of India.

The difference we give engender ourselves to you.

We give you the right to speak ur language, practice ur religion, ply ur craft and make ur living and be happy.

And you make ur bucks and go and invest in ur town - we have no qualms.

But if you come to South and impose urselves on us, you would not last - we dont need to use lathis - you would run urselves.

misleading coverage
by sanjay kadam on Feb 13, 2008 05:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Somehow in all columns & posts the main point has been missed out. There could be multiple reasons behind this. One, very few people (outside Maharashtra) have understood the context of the original comments from Raj Thakrey. And reason behind that is poor journalism standards. Since I understand Marathi, I had fully heard what Raj T had said. At the same time I watched major hindi/english news channels and most of the channels covered the story in skewed fashion, more from making it sensational & inflamatory. Second reason is we Indians are psuedo-nationalists. Our nationalist stand is not consistent at different occasions. When we are not in thick of things, we teach others of nationalistic values, but we seldom practice it. When Raj bashing is going on, one is hardly inclined to read between the lines or understand the true story. Otherwise we would not have given the communal colour to the issue. Issue is not against Bengali, Gujrati or Asamese people of even UP/Bihari people in general. It is about strength show against the natives, it is also about threatening local culture. One has every right to go & work in any part of the country. But at the same time we have to take care of the responsibilities that comes with this right. The way we don't dictate terms when we visit our friend's or relative house, but we try to mix & behave like them. The same concept is true on macro level. Because of the same reason, we asked British to leave India. Their culture was invading our

....Continued....Their culture was invading ours and they became ruling class as well. No native Indian could accept that, hence the freedom struggle. So the actual undelying issue is about culture & power invasion. As long as we are not interfering or affecting with the local values & cultures, we are free to be anywhere in India (or world in future) and live happily. No Raj Thakrey can come in your way.

Yes Maharashtra especially Bombay has got many easy sources of income, thats why poor people from other states come to Bombay.

People are coming to Bombay for daily bread and butter, coz it lacs in their hometown. At some time it is good that they are coming to Bombay, why, because empty stomach can force you to do anything even will prompt you to become terrorist. If so then it will be harder and very tough situation for every Indian.

All and all India must have strict, infact very strict Law and order.

This will lead to stop this kind of activities and can stop corruption in all the areas of the govt and private sector.

If laws are strict nobody, not even Raj will dare to do this kind of activities.

i think violence is not proper way,but it should be understand by north leaders that they themself had failed to achieve progress of their state. If they had created lot of opportunity in their states there will be no need to any bhaiya to come to bombay.
also goverment should think why such a issue has arised---Because of over population-poverty.
Mumbai is always seen as a land of bread for all but their should be any limit other wise all law and order and ever goverment system will fail .
it is the biggest failure of North indian leaders who failed to progrss their states in all respect.

Just Keep the Politics and Media aside and ACT
by abhay kadam on Feb 13, 2008 03:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Just forget what politician are doing and Media is doing. We as a common man should concentrate on the basic cause of the issue.
1. Migration - because of basic resources
2. Unbalanced developement of states
3. Central Government should analyse the reasons for "Why UP Bihar is still undeveloped after more than 50 yrs of Independence?"
4. What they have done with developement funds till date.
5. Are there any policy to develope them.
6. If Central government will do this then within 5 years this migration will automatically stop.
MAKE THEM RESOURCES AVAILABLE AT THEIR OWN PLACE.

Good one. Good consideration. Its not just development, Mumbai road stayers get free home, which is an addition attraction for outsider. No one starves in Mumbai, if not by work, earn by begging, and you survive. Life is easy here. Bihar UP, people fear... NO uniformity in ANY sense will be achieved in India, where there are reservations at every juncture of life, based on caste, religion, community..

Mr. Abhay Kadam had perfectly pin pointed the cause. rest all is just talks.
If we need solutions and prevent such acts in future, we must need a focused development through out the country equally.
It is also Politics, when the Big Shots gets Industry to their own state or village and keep on attracting the voters BUT later other peoples also comes.
So, This is a basically failure of INDIAN Govt. and NOT any state level.
We must think of Long term Policy otherwise it is going to keep on repeating for the political gain.

It is ridiculous to think that Maharashtrians do not commit nuisance on public roads, parks, railway lines, and all Maharashtrians HONESTLY pay their taxes to Governments of the Centre and the State and to the Municipal Corporation. Even if some "outsiders" do not pay taxes, does it entitle MNS to beat them up, destroy their property and even State Road Transport Corporation buses, etc.?
