Justice One Way only!
by Benedict J on Feb 07, 2008 02:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Thousands of blue film CDs are being sold at the Burma Bazaar CD shops in Chennai and elsewhere. What does the court do for this? Simply punishing Dr.Prakash would not do. How are they going to prevent filming which is going on in all resorts

You are right - simply punishing Prakash would not do and you can say this for every case. It is a constant battle. However, in this particular case it is a question of a Doctor misusuing the faith reposed on him by his patients and he deserves to be hanged for it. Unfortunately our laws are too lenient. It won't be long before a scandal surfaces in the jail in which he is lodged

It is a good sign of judgement because both parties are still alive otherwise judgement comes after accused or claimant died.

It is his education and after he serves his term he should be allowed to do practice. Many politicians (doctors / lawyers) who dont practice for 5 years owing to being ministers or MLAs return to practicing after 5years. They have lost touch in their profession for 5 years. How can a doctor do a surgery after not doing it for 5 years. When politicians are allowed to do the practice when they loose elections, why not Prakash. He should be allowed to do practice after freeing from Jail

FOREIGN LINK IS IGNORED
by Mohammad Qutaiba on Feb 07, 2008 02:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What is surprising here is that there is no mention of foreign link, though the doc(g)has an associate in USA. Had he beeb from a minority community there should had a mention of foreign link.

if he would have been from minority community, his foreign link must have been to Pakistan not to US. And he would not have involved in women case.

Awareness of cyber law
by Santosh Tripathy on Feb 07, 2008 02:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear All,
What the doctor did was immmoral, unethical, unprofessional etc.But he might not be aware that its criminal too.
Were you all aware of any such law in the IPC(Indian Penal Code). Laws are for people and people don't know about it. What is judicairy and govt doing. They have left us on the mercy of corrupt police and greedy lawyers.

My friends time has come to understand the law and respect it. It calls for a more strict but practical cyber law.

The punishment is less if the doctor has taken pictures without the knowledge / permission of those women.

In one way the delay of 7yrs to pronunce verdict is also for good, during that time the doc(or pig) should have 1)gone through lots of trauma 2)and consumed gallons of liquor to generate income to Govt.
