India?
by usa on Feb 07, 2008 07:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India?
The current status is:

Kerala - C/o Gulf
Tamilnadu - No Comments
Andhra Pradesh - Telangana movement
Karnataka - Ask Tamilnadu
Bihar,UP - Their weapons are sophisticated than Indian Army's
Bengal - Chinese will listen.
Seven sister states - Instant death if you are non-assamese.
Punjab - Khalistan
Kashmir - Kidding?
Rajasthan - They call you 'Paradesi'.
Maharastra - Vidarbha movement.
UP - Bundelkhand, Poorvanchal etc
...

Due to the intrinsic cultural diversity, each State in India cannot 'productively' govern more than 2 million citizens.
India should 'decentralize' 604 districts into States or Cantons as in Switzerland.

We are the same in violating the law and rules
by KrishnaSundar suggula on Feb 07, 2008 07:31 PM  Permalink

It is infact our national charater to be imperfect and chaos evrywhere!

This uncivilized behaviour is the same across India, we take the law for granted and wont follow it irrespective of the place we belong to, North ,south, east or west.

This is becoz of our rural brought up(most of us) where the city chaos are really lesser. As we enter into a bigger city or a national highway we take the roads for granted, trying to cross the roads abruptly, and overtaking the front vehicles from left.

This is also partly due to the fact that we have various levels of civilized behaviours in our country. and we lack a national etho to have a sense of pride to follow the law and simple rules.

In fact lots of us do the otherway around to prove that they are diffeent from the rest.
Take the case of youth hanging to the footboards of the busses in cities making virtually impossible for others to get into them.

Pathetic but the Truth about is we are completely imperfect and everything we do in choas. Otherwise how come we have the highest mortal rate in accidents on roads

Balancing act - a thought

I would like to paste an honest picture.Though i am from delhi,i truly believe that off late laws are broken overtly without any fear of law.Yes,i do believe that the practice is more prevalant in northern states of Punjab, haryana & Delhi because people here like to show off.Having said that, the state governments have also failed to enforce law in an efficient manner & its no point blaming the chaos totally on ppl. However, let me state for a matter of fact, cars are growing at a frantic pace in delhi & there in no infrastucture in place. It is expected that Metro will soothen the burden in the near future.Having said that,i would also state regarding the controversy of North vs. South.I have stayed in pune for quite some time.I have a feeling that people there have a sense of insecurity against the north indians and the political parties exploit it for their vote bank. The vilified speeches of Raj thekeray were baseless&immature and that should be condemned by the Mumbaikars as well in the highest degree.Otherwise, they would be guilty of adopting double standards. In short, lets not play the blame game & learn to accept our faults and strive to improve them.

well you could point out to Raj that his supporters stick a Jai Maharashtra sticker and break traffic laws just as much as their brothers from N India. They just dont seem to understand that this tarnishes the image of the locals but they continue at it while pointing fingers at others.

Solutions for Entire India:
1. Give UP, Bihar to China.
2. Remove UP Bihar from India and make separate country.
3. Tell UP & Bihar people to committ mass suicide.
4. Drop a bomb on UP & Bihar....finish it of....
5. Give Punjab & haryana to Pakistan.
6. Make Kashmir new country, give Laddakh to China.
7. Give Mizoram Tripur to Mayamar
8. Give Assam & Bengal to bangla Desh.

Now South India can live peacefully, West can go along Raj Thakrey with their development program..

Which one you like.....or any other modern Idea you have......give your solution

Rspect for law.
by srinivasa viswanathan on Feb 07, 2008 07:15 PM  Permalink

I am Chennite. I respect law with pride, as I live in a Demoratic republic. Law is made by us, through elected Representatives. I do agree with H'ble Governor that chennites are generally law-abiding, there are aberrations to this MATTER OF PRIDE. Instances are: 1. Autos have working Meters. But only adhoc fares are charged. People suffer. No Law and Order is enforced. Even HC can take suo motu cognissance of this fact and ensure enforcing law and order. But every one incl. Govt. is spectator. 2. CMC has failed in its duty to make arrangements for parking of Autos and freeing littering the street. Streets are clumsy with parked autos and unlicenced carts and dirty with garbage. Is 'Singara (Beautiful) Chennai' a PIPE DREAM?

hindi as official language
by harsha on Feb 07, 2008 07:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The first mistake was enacted in the constitution by making Hindi as official Language. It is true that number of speakers in HINDI is more than any other languages. But it not spoken all over the country. Till toady Hindi is not having any influence in South, East and North eastern part of the country. Again Hindi is not definitely the richest language in India.

Only English & Sanskrit should be the national Languages of India because it not the mother tounge of any particular community in India. Then there will no question of Imposing.

Yaar chill.....Even if it is national language,is there any enforcement to talk in Hindi in your State.....
You talk as if you were in USSR where they were forced to learn and speak russian
Come on chill,
these things hardly matter....if you make the language debate long, then it will be long
And as for sanskrit, why an obsolete language. Also, there are no speakers of the language

And most Imprtantly, there are also speakers of some languages that do not have basis in sanskrit,Udru and some tribal or other languages.

We cannot afford to get into this debate.

India is a different kind of country, with no parallels.Hindi is the national language, because it has maximum speakers. But,there are north Indian speakers who dont speak it,like Punjabi and bengali and Haryanvi,Sindhi,Rajastani,Kashmiri, and Oriya,Assamese and other tribal languages.

So chill man,if your from South India,we respect your acceptance of Hindi as a national Language......
