I agree with Goverener to certain extent, though it is very difficult generalise these things. But things are changing everywhere and people are becoming worse in all part of the country be it in South or North. Poeple should think towards country and get rid of 'CHALTA HAI' attitude.

Yes, it's difficult to generalise things. I have lived for 2 yrs in hyd and I have lived in north too and really I don't see any difference. I see ppl in both parts violating traffic rules. More or less in which part doesnt mean anything. Either you follow rules or you don't. All those northies or southies posting messages on this forum and boasting superiority over each other, how many of you haven't violated the rules yourselves. Every time there is a discussion on this forum, ppl from different parts start justifying how south is great, or how north is better, or how south indian actors are great and so on. C'mon guys, when will we start thinking of india as one country. This is high time when we realize there is no Jai Maharashtra or Jai Haryana but only Jai Bharat....

Gentleman, Please don't shoot in the dark,be specific.There is nothing new in what the governor has told,this truth of the north being agressive and restless has been debated for many years. Go to sowcarpet in chennai to get a dose of the 'Northie effect' and then go to t nagar to feel the simply southern experience,both crowded places with lots of traffic but see the difference just becoz of the People.

U r 100% right. here people are peace lovers and all the people in tamilnadu have with in the limits and have faith and fear in law. they want respect from every one. so we dont indulge in crime or terrorism. people are there, but not like north and west part of india. i heard that in north, most of the people are not buying train ticket in long journey, if TT ask ticket from passenger, they will through awy the TT. I dont know how much true in this. but in South u cann't see all this thing.

this is the best joke on this forum till now,Mr.Manohar.I believe that among all the south indian cities,I truly respect bangaloreans in general and Kannad people in particular for accepting people from all parts of india warmly.
Hats off to the gracious people of Karnataka.
May all indians(north,east,south,west)take lessons from Kannad people.
I have lived in Delhi for a year and I know that the Lt. gov. is telling the truth. I have seen people in my office boast almost daily about how they escaped the law they had broken with impunity. No wonder Delhi is the crime capital of India with the highest % of murders and rapes. I left a good job in Delhi and came back south only coz i was fed up of the place and the racist people. South India is a civilized place. No more north india for me.

i think that u may have a bad experience in delhi but people in south are also racist and more than north as i am in bangaloore more than 2 years ...i think if they are not agree with me on any topic they just change there side and start to speak in kannada ..as i am talking in ENGLISH ....but they know that north people dont know kannada ...it dose not happen single time it happens a lot of time......and what will u call this thing is it right .....as they intensionaly want to get north people sme time .... and i m not goning to oppse south people or south as we r in a country ..and i know only country ...but u think and tell me"IS IT RIGHT"

Well said when Kanndigas visit any north indian places will they speak Kannada with us, so why we have to talk to them in Hindi while they are in Banglore.

ok mr first of update ur self that a new survey what tells ...the most of top 10 developrd cities are from north ..ok... second one can u list me some cities that are developed in south except IT INDUSTRY ... and if u talk about infrastructure then u should know condition of bangalore'infr and other developed one in north ..and if u talk about social then in this matter north is also ahead of south .north is more socially coltured than anywhere ..... and if u talk about migration then ...only one thing that a person who has caliber will do well any place,any where ,they can survive any where ..and i am not telling that south people hasnt caliber they have but they have a lack f leadership quality ....... and there are diff reason that north is not developed as it should i m listing some them as most of floods,draught ,and rain unconsistecy,..take palce there every year u know it i think ... and as i think u know that most of our country GDP is covered by north... a lot of other points are ....can b discussed but its enough for now

Yes, it is well known there are violators when a signal is in red position. But Road side Romeos who want to show their machoism do violate. But not all Indians are violators or only South Indians have civic sense. Accepted in South the custodians of law with their monster like posture do create a terror in the minds of the public, thereby ensuring proper maintenance of traffic in that area. Being a South Indian, Iam terribly upset by the way you try to divide North vs South vs West.

I have a better suggestion madam. In order to further the cause of "Unity in Diversity" and to make our country more united, let us make it mandatory by law for women in Kerala, Tamil Nadu,Karnataka and Andhra to only marry men from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Harayana!!!!. There are many advantages in this suggestion which I am listing below.
1. Given the adverse sex ratio in these four states in the North, at least this will ensure that the men folk do not go about harassing women given their desperation and frustration!!!.
2. It is hoped that the charming women from the South of the Vindhyas will bring about a certain degree of civility in the menfolk from these Northern States after marrying them.
3. Hopefully, the offspring from their Union with the Northern males will have a gene pool which will contain many strands of civility in them.

Though traffic manners are bad all over the country, general respect for the law is better in South and west. You cannot expect the crowd to spare you if you misbehaved with a woman in public in south. West used to be good for women, but it's becoming like north. And linking this to bravery/cowardice is ridiculous. The only notable resistance to invaders came from marathas and sikhs - it's plain history.

point is that north indians have no respect for law, which certainly is true.No doubt about that!But west India (maha/Guj/Raj) definitely are dcent places to live besides south.I am north indian and seen murder of law in northern states.
