The essence of Indian culture
by JGN on Feb 06, 2008 04:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Swamy Vivakandnda had said: "We not only tolerate, but we Hindus accept every religion, praying in the mosque of the Mohamedans, worshipping before the fire of the Zoroastrians, and kneeling before the cross of the Christians, knowing that all the religions, from the lowest fetishism, mean so many attempts of the human soul to grasp and realize the infinite, each determined by the conditions of its birth and association, and each of them making a stage of progress. We gather all these flowers and bind them with the twine of love, making a wonderful bouquet of worship"

Now compare this with the beliefs of semitic religions and draw your own conclusion! Is this not good ideology for those who want to believe in some God????

your narrow mindedness is clearly vissible, you called Swami Vivekananda as liar which indicates you poor knowledge in Indian history. He was a enlightened soul to address the Americans as "My American Brothers and Sisters" till then all the so called religious leaders addressed people by their faith. Don't try to tarnish a great person, you get people like him once in a Century.

Is god more unfair than human-beings?
by JGN on Feb 06, 2008 03:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The god wants to punish the entire generation from Adam and Eve for the sin (or crime) purported to have been committed by them (earting forbidden fruit).

It is an accepted principle of criminal jurisprudence that only the person who committed the crime should be punished.

Is the god more unfair than human-beings????

I have been asking @JGN and another person who claim to know a lot about the old testament, but apart from the 'virgin mother' stuff, I have not heard anything.

Does the absence of a tangible existence negates the existence? We see the day light sometimes instead of the sun.we see the universe in such unique symetery and scientific perfectness and we can only acknowledge this happened out of a Superior Intelligent Being. Call Him God or Creator or Allah. Look at the computer- without the chip we canot have any program but by just looking at the chip from outside you cannot tell what is the program- you need a monitor to see it. This world is the manifestation (monitor in display) of God's hidden power- the chip

''Sexy Sadie'' RIP !!!
by on Feb 06, 2008 03:48 PM  Permalink

John Lennon was inspired to write the song "Sexy Sadie what have you done? You made a fool of everyone" after stories floated about that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had made sexual advances to Mia Farrow.

She paniced and fleed from his ashram.

Some say these rumours wre deliberately engineered to undermine the Maharishi's influence on the Beatles.

But the song became a Beatles hit.

Search for The Skeptics Annotated Bible. It has category-wise verses from the Bible like absurdities, contradictins, hatred, etc from both Old Testament and New Testament.

Also visit the web of Positve Atheism and read the articles available there. If we write here, Rediff will revoke our posting right!!!!!!!

What lyrics are you referring to ?

As for what you have pasted from wikipedia ... here's my take on it.

If you had to choose between what Mia Farrow said and what Paul McCartney said, why would you prefer McCartney ? Because he said something that you agree with, or what you would have wanted to hear ?

Are your parents healthy ? Mine are too. Is this part of your religion to drag parents when the discussion is about some person who passed away in some part of th world ?
