I wont allow a bihari or UP uncouth to my home
by Naman Sood on Feb 07, 2008 06:52 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Just like my home, Marathis home is Maharastra, it is up to their sweet will to decide who they allow in.

Love it or leave it. Biharis are fools who instead of cleaning their own house, spoil other houses with their escapist route.

Long Term Solution and Prevention

DECENTRALISATION

Develop 1 or 2 big cities in underdeveloped states like UP,Bihar,Orissa,MP,AP,.... by providing incentives to firms , infrastructure and moving public sector jobs

Reduce significance of Mumbai (and hence all these of issues) by shifting Some of the public sector offices like LIC,ICICI,RBI,.. and any other big employment sector office which would lead to congestion.

Offer incentives to private firms to shift to cities like Noida, Baroda, Hyderabad, Chandigarh,Kolkota,Cochin,... which have potential to develop more without causing major issues.

the core is issue here is thet there is too much concentration of all things like finance, private sector, govt,... in Mumbai and hence all people flock there to find jobs . Spread these to other cities and the problem is solved.

Blown out of proportion!
by Abhijit Dongre! on Feb 07, 2008 04:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the whole episode is blown out of proportion by the media and the posts by common people on discussion boards. The fight is mainly with Biharis and people from UP, in other words, the fight is not with the creamy layer but with those who are considered as precipitates!

The fight of Marathis is with those dehati Biharis and UP people who spit on the roads, who do not have descipline and those who do not respect the law. Forget about Marathis go and ask a Marwari and Gujrati if he would like to loan money to them, the anwer will be NO. Go and ask an engineering firm if they would like to employ an Engineer from UP/Bihar the anwer would be NO. Go and ask a bank manager if he would employ a UP / Bihari as a financial manager, the answer would be NO. Go and ask a patient if he would like to be operated by UP / Bohari doctors, the anwer would be NO. These many NOs are simply because of their own arrogant and uncivilised nature ... something that is taking toll on local population (Here, local poplation means Gujratis, Sindhis, Panjabis etc. besides Marathis). Why only Marathis? Ask your opinion about Biharis and UP people to people other than Marathis you will get to know their views, 99% of the times the way the Marathis think of them.

Marathis have always welcomed the people from other states with open hand. Marathis are well organised, well behaved, desciplined and hard working. This is reflected by the fact that we have the best universities, best engineering col

One has to understand that we are living in a democracy. Everyone has the same right as a so called "Creamy layer". Spitting/Behaving bad is not attributed to one part of the society.

Also one must not forget that, India is a free country and every citizen has the birth right to go to any part of the country he wishes.

That said, in the 70's this same propeganda was undertaken by Bal Thakarey to drive out South Indian people. Now his Newphew wants to use the same ruse, except now its Bihari's Up'ites et al.

What Raj Thakarey is doing right now amounts to fundamentalism, the same as whats happenning in Kashmir, where the Kashmiri Hindu's were driven out.

Contd ...

leges, best medical colleges, best road network, best business, best infrastructure, best Police force etc.

The division of work in Mumbai is still very well divided, business in handled by Gujratis and Marwaris, hotels are being looked after by Panjabis and Shettys, show business handled by Marathis, Bengalis and Punjabis, most of the salaried jobs (where descipline is most important) are handled by Marathis and South Indians. In essense, this balance has to be maintained if Mumbai were to become a world class city.

The influx of dehati Biharis and UP people is definitely not going to help and will do more harm than good.

Here the point is that to make a city better we need some constructive influx in Mumbai and not the destructive one that we are having at the moment from UP and Bihar.

Mr. Abhijit,

This is one country. We need to maintain it as one. Division in religion/states will only help outsiders/politicians to win over us.

I am a Bihari and proud to be one. I really dont agree with most your comments. I dont want to creat any divide but just answer one simple question how many marathis make it to IIT's as compared to students from Bihar/UP ?

Government doesnt focus on Bihar. Mumbai is in focus coz thats were the money is.

Please help the so called dehatis.

You can make a difference rather than abusing them.

Hi Kunal,

I don't understand your comment about IIT. Friend, we have many engineering colleges comparable with IITs here in Maharashtra. And by the way I, there would be atleast 60% of students in Mumbai IIT who are Marathis! Be it BTech or MTech. I also do not beleive in dividing the country, but a benchmark is to be maintained below which nobody should be allowed to go.

I have only stated the facts, this is ground reality against the Biharis and UP people in Mumbai from all the other communities.

To improve yourselves is in your hands, we are just helping you out.

If that is the case you should protest against the people you have mentioned for steeling your high profile jobs!!!

This issue is totally different from the current issue that the politicians have created. And if I may, how can you say that most people who spit on the roads in Mumbai are from outside Mumbai? Do you have any proof of that, or are you following stereotypes yourself?

The problems you have highlighted is the problem itself: we judge people by caste, religion, creed and if nothing else, their place of origin! If you have statistical proof to say UP/Biharis are unqualified then present it, but don't give the argument that people don't want to hire just because they are from UP/Bihar. The moment Mumbai starts playing regional politics will be the end of its greatness! Mumbai works because it is cosmopolitan, not because of any one class of people.

It's a different matter that he was put behind the bars with local people after beating him badly. It's time to understand "When to hold and when to fold".

I went through lot's of post and many of them say that outsiders develop the city. For an assumption i am agree with them. But why these people can develope their own cities. Who stops them from doing so. Bihar has the highest no. of IITian's but still is the most backward state in india, UP has the largest no. of IAS in administration but repeats the story of Bihar. Why these people don't come together and focus on developement of their own city/states. Noida and Jamshedpur are far better cities than mumbai in terms of infrastructure but can't provide emplyoment to UPites and Biharis.Amarsingh and Mulyam comes to mumbai and provocate their people why they inspire their people to development their own states. If law and order of these state is hampering the development of these states then who's responsibility to correct it? The politicians of UP and Bihar can compete with any industrialist in terms of wealth then why don't they build industries in their own state? Amarsingh and Amitabh had purchased a plot in Bandra-Kurla complex to raise a call center. Why they don't build call center in Noida? If cities like hyderabad and Banglore can trnsform and compte with mumbai then why can,t patana, laknow? If states like tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh can compte with Maharashtra in the race of development then why can't Up, Bihar and Assam. Just four days before Raj thakare turmoil 4 biharis were burned alive in Assam but none of Amarsing, Mulayam, Paswan, Lalu or Nitish kumar condemned it

In this age of moving forward and building India as united, we are talking about regionalization. This is the main reason why we are not able to progress at that speed in which the countries like China is doing. Raj Thackeray has no other job other than causing clashes and giving harmful speeches. Rather he should unite the youths from all over the country and help in building good foundation for India's growth.
