Such information should be regularly fed into middle school textbooks. Also, the discussion following is more pithy. It is indeed a matter of great concern how some north western states nag loudly and hanker all the time for open trade and travel with Pakistan. India needs strong ties with the developed world - our immediate neighbours are not at all dependable. Also, it is very sad how technologically deficient our defence system is. The US military industrial system absorbs the meritorious cream from across the globe and drives the economy. But effete, sycophant jingoism seems to be India's only option. May treason be crushed in all extant forms.

Dear Niloy, I agree with your suggestion about inclusion of these infos in school textbooks. But the problem is that, most of these heroes except a Abdul Hamid of 1965 war, are Hindus and Sikhs. Muslim politicians will never allow such text book inclusions and all political parties except Narendra Modi and Bal Thakarey will bow before them. After all, isn't India being ruled by an Italian Madam? We are still not satisfied with 190 years of British rule.
He gave his today for our tomorrow. May GOD bless him, his family and others like him. My condolences for the family. In a nation where real heroes are a premium, we are losing so many.
I remember about my return journey from Jammu to Delhi in September 1999, after a visit to Vaishnodevi. A soldier of the JAT Regiment was going back home (Mathura) after fighting in Kargil. He was hit a by a bullet in the thigh and was in hospital for a few months. He told me that during the fight he thought he was never going to see his family again, as bullets were flying from every direction and he was saved by a rock. What surprised me that he was not having a confirmed ticket and he never begged for a place to sit. In early morning I told him that he can occupy and sleep in my birth till Mathura. Even today, I wonder how can the Govt. cannot even provide a confirmed ticket to a soldier who fought in Kargil? The story is still the same in Jammu today. Hundreds of soldiers going home travel without a confirmed ticket. Can Lalu Yadav provide 2-3 separate bogies for soldiers going home in every train and that they should be given preferential treatment for reservations? Readers are also requested to give their opinions.

yes, i agree with u. indian government donot know how to respect our brave soliders. government can give huge money to terrorist, also money to parallel government or insurgent in northeast but not have enough money to provide better facilities to our brave solider who fought for us. this is because they are not a very big vote bank.

I agree with you. Any soldier coming back from active duty or going back should be given priority. We should have the best weapons and best facilities forour brave brothers and sisters. If the government is short of money, let them start a fund where people can contribute to the welfare of our brave soldiers. I will contribute to the fund.

5 start hotel and travel facilities are provided to cricketers, who do nothing for the country. Not even paying taxes properly. On top of that govt and other sponsors give them land ,flats and other things for free. And the soldiers are not even provided with sleeper coach confirmed tickets for them to travel. Isnt this shame for the nation.
I Truly Salute to you Sir Chuni Lal and the Indian army for fighting and protecting our border, so we "Indians" could live better life. I live in the states but every time I hear or read any kind of army stories it makes me feel very proud and know that there are still brave man and women in India who would die for our country. Only thing I would like to say to our Indian Government is PLEASE Wake up and start taking care of the families who lost their son, father, daughter or wife in the war rather than paying them certain amount of money and forget them after few years. To all the corrupt politicians please stop feeling your damm pockets and start serving our country as a true Indian. JAI HIND
App ko hamiri taraf se hazar Salam, srif apku hi nahi app ke jise un hazaro Sipahiyo ku SALAM, I m Proud to AN INDIAN, if tears can make me feel proud, for u guys i will cry forever, JAI HIND
This is the story of a jawan who may be earning 1,00,000 per annum the max, which will be the income of a B class cricket player for a week. A cricket player will be awarded 1,00,000 for every six he hits and a posch car for his performance. But its time to think of why spending so much money (its our money, tax payers money) ON SUCH STUPID OCCASSIONS. People like Chuni Lal are our real heroes who daynightless serve us.
Every Jawan say us "you sleep peacefully, I am awake here to protect you".
govt must fasten procedure to get their family a living and admitting their children in school and colleges. They r the one who saves our life from terrorists and intruders. U'll always be in our heart.
