UTTAR PRADESH
by Anshuman Saxena on Feb 04, 2008 10:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Maharashtra is not England. It's just a state and part of the Republic of India. And it is a state in India, whose very creation is owed to men of Uttar Pradesh in no small measures. History is proof that Allahabad, UP was the rallying point of many critical events, that led to the freedom and formation of modern India. Uttar Pradesh too is a state; but it is not just any other state or region; and it has never been. It is the state of Ayodhya, it regulates Taj Mahal, it envelops Delhi, it controls much of the nation's waterflow with the Ganga Jamuna. The greatest emperor and empire come from its belt. Ramayan, Mahabharat, Holi, Diwali etc. all originate from here. The hindi language and its sanskrit root precursor are all rooted off UP. Every Raj Thackrey, not to mention a Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra are all basically indebted to somebody from Uttar Pradesh and Ganga Delta from a long time ago.

But nevermind a long time ago. people need to be aware that a massive chunk of what they have put their hopes on as the Indian airforce and the Indian army is basically UP's army, that is jawans from UP and Bihar. Maharashtra's security even in today's times depends in no small measure on UP and that region. If tomorrow a hostile navy fleet crosses over the Arabian sea, pounds the Mumbai harbor back to colonial times and paratroops into the Thackrey compound, Raj Thackrey won't and can't stop them. And if they decide to

Anshu,

If all you "intelligent" UP and Biharis spent more time on developing your own states and ending caste politics, you people wouldn't need to come to places like Mumbai or Delhi to become beasts of burden!

UP and Bihar have the so many natural resources but are plundered daily by its won people.

Why don't you fight all that before fighting in Mumbai to stay third class citizens?!

Yes, Anshu,
He's right. UP / Bihar produces highest no. of politicians and bureaucrats but still they are not able to develop their own states despite having Indian best fertile land. This indicates their attitude and will power.
Now it%u2019s time for introspection for all UPian and Biharian. This is not happening in Maharashtra only, in Assam, Nagaland Biharis are massacred. This is really unfortunate but truth should be accepted.
I understand Raj%u2019s way is not good but before blaming him Mulayam, Amar and Lalu should introspect and try to find out reasons behind these migrations.
Lastly, Anshu go back to books and find out who ruled UP / Bihar; this will answer you how brave you were. Again go back to Army journals and find out more about UP Bihar sensex in Army; this is really required for you.
If you still have some disgrace in your mind, leave your current job, go back to your place and try to make it next polar Mumbai. I know you are not capable for this challenge as you live far away from reality.
Subah ho gayi Mamu, jag jao.

Nobody should be kicked out!

Mumbai and the prosperity associated with it didn't fall from the sky! It was made to happen by the people who came to this city!

It is high time the "Mumbai-Formula" was replicated in other states so all states can develop and prosper!

Why are we all obsessed with fighting for scraps when we can do much, much better than that!!

Why single out UP wallahs and Biharis.. just because they are the poorest of the outsiders.. Just because they dont have the power of money.
There are Marwadis and Gujaratis who rule the Financial and business world of mumbai can anyone go up to them and say them that take your dhanda and go to Rajasthan and Gujarat..
NO!! why because these scum of the nation dont have the guts to do that..
Its easy to target poor men and harass them. If RAJ you really stick by your own idealogy kick Anil and Mukesh ambani out of mumbai.
If you have prejudice against Amitabh try to go and attack him.. why beat up the poor taxi wallas and street vendors.
I pity the men who follow Raj Thakare's words. They couldn't find a good man to follow.. so sorry for them.

Strong rhetoric aside, you can't pick and choose, saying Maurya or a Nehru or Bachchan or Diwali are 'ok' but we don't want those other uneducated yokels. You have to deal with the good with the bad, the rich with the poor, and work to improve the situation from inside out collectively. UP's problem is Maharashtra's problem and UP's strengths are to be used to the benefit of Maharashtra's. That's what being Republic of India is supposed to be all about. With regards to the disparity in UP, immigration has happened both ways, away from and towards UP-Bihar over time depending on the situation in the region, and there are all sorts of people who have immigrated there over centuries who are really not the original UP people. Nonetheless, this is there even in a USA where you have a New Orleans crowd illustrated during hurricane Katrina and a more elite group of Americans represented by say the Kennedys. Similarly the Bachchans or the Nehrus are UP, and so are the rickshawwalas; and people need to come to terms with that.

The irony with Raj Thackeray is that he too belongs to same community as Bachchan. He too is paternally a Kayashth. And Kayasthas are traceable to UP-Bihar going back to the Mauryan times. The individual now bashing Uttar Pradesh in Maharashtra is possibly descendant of original UP-ites himself. So instead of trying to emerge a national leader like a Narendra Modi or a Chandrababu Naidu, you have this Thackrey making remarks which are going to limit and chai

Raj Thackeray speaks the truth, hence we are not able to accept it
by Tazir on Feb 04, 2008 10:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Every word that Raj Thackrey has said is steeped in truth and reality. Television channels have conveniently mistranslated his Marathi speech which only underlines the marginalisation of the Maharashtrian. I dare NDTV to present the actual translation of his speech to our non Marathi countrymen. He has not said anything against any language or culture but has only said that everyone who lives in Maharashtra should accept and respect the Marathi tradition. I am of South Indian origin but I consider myself first a Maharashtrian and then everything else. Maharashtra is my motherland and my pride.

Jai Maharashtra!

Do you mean to say you are a Maharashtrian first and a human later?

Dont talk rubbish... What Raj has said is wrong. It was just an extension of such a policy that led to ethnic cleansing of the Jews by Hitler. He has belittled the contributions of the various non-Maharashtrian communities towards making Mumbai the financial capital of India.

What is his contribution towards Maharashtra? Please dont say Shiv Udyog Sena, for that was an unprecedented disaster.

Previously I had soft corner with MNS, but now i feel ashamed on that. Why Raj blaming people from UP & Bihar.

If he really concerned about Marathi people then answer this first. (the points not for all Marathi people but for whom who feel UP & Bihari people pollute this state). These points are noted because I am staying in Chawl system in Mumbai & I am Marathi & I know Marathi people well.

1. Why Marathi people searching for jobs which is only for 8 hours working?
2. Why they are not ready to sale Vegetable or work as hawker?
3. Why they are wasting there time on roads (we called "Chaprigiri").
4. Why they not creating competition to UP & Bihari people or other peoples comes from other states.
5. Why blaming system & not ready to work hard?
6. Why they not support each other to start new business?

Here is some points for the people comes from other state.

1. There is limit for everything, let me explain by an example, suppose there is 2 people in 10x10 room then they live peacefully & happily. If we introduce 10 more people in same room then they may be comfortable but if you introduce more 100 people in same room then how they can live peacefully & happily. Now same thing happening with Mumbai. Who born here also like to stay here & again new peoples adding continuously which pressurized our infrastructure & everything?

So try to save this city by understanding each other.

Note: Healthy arguments are invited.

Jai Hind & Jai Maharashtra

These idiotic Bhaiyas have nothing better to do after being beasts of burden all day and scratching each others Gottas, so they are fanning this issue!

All this could have been avoided by either ignoring Raj or Cursing Marathi people in UP and Bihar (to even things)!

But no these brainless Bhaiyas had to make a hero out of Raj Thackray!
