dividing the hindus in the name of region, language, etc. is the ploy of pseudo-seculars, n foreign agents so that ind doesnt prosper at the extraordinary rate. n they hv got some supporters like raj thakre.
Historically and Culturally the Indian penissula south of the river Narmada is called Deccan. South India as well as the entire state of Maharashtra lie on that region. Appart from the devnagri script Maharashtra and Marathi does not have anything common with North India. Infact the North follows the Hindu Calender Vikam Shake Samantta and Maharashtra follows the Shaliwahan Shakke Samwatta. Festivals, culture, and also music of Maharastra have more South Indian flavor then North Indian. It is more near to Carnatic music than Hindustani. Infact its is said because Marathas faughat against the Northern Invadors and Mughals, the culture and religion of the south India was saved from thease invadors.
Its high time that Maharastrians are prowd and acknolodge their South Indian identity, because appart from the devnagri script there is nothing common with the North on the other hand there is so much common with South that you can imagine. Maybe now we will better understand the sentiments of Tamils, Kanadigas, Malyalis and Andharites on why they are against North Indians

Does it really matter Aditya? In the larger schema of things, North-South debate doesn't matter. We are Indians. That is the only thing we need to accept. Everyone outside of India knows us as Indians and not North or south Indians. The more we fight with each other, the weaker we are. Healthy competition among states is always good as long as we don't start namecalling

This is exactly the problem. we are not Indians. The people of the South are differnt ethinically, and culturally. What unites India is criminals and corruption. If you remove these two and compare the reaction of the people in south and north India they are diametricaly opposite. Some tiem back in a tV interviw the entie Mumbai said that the rapist must be handged or if it is possibnle some thing more. But on the contrary entire Delhi said the rapist be let go free. Excpet for hte British rule, the North was alwasy different from the South.
After independecen the North, led of Nehru family and a group of absolute selfish congresswala, were neglecting the South and the East and the North East and were devceloping only the Hindu belt.
It is only becasue there is no steam rolling majority in the centre for hte past decade that some development is taking place in south. What is important is generaly on a one on one, the people of south and the East are more law abidding and commited to work for a living. ON the other hand the culture of 'making money' at all costs is imported from North India.
I am not saying that the violance in Mumbai is any good. Nor am I saying the Bhachans did anything wrong in opening school, but the the long pending trends are now surfacing

i dont think it's an issue of bhaiya or it is not a problem of chaat puja or north and south what i would like to inform is bhaiyas are now the very life line of mumbai from selling pan to onion , potatoes,bhajiwallahs,raddiwalahs,milkman,house maid's working in mumbai areas called as rama's who actually go out for breaking dahi handi's fishermen, railway guards, policewallahs, vakils,shopkeepers, carpenters,istriwallah, taxi drivers rickshawallahs, all of this are bhaiya's, they are also now in to killing people for as low as 5000/- and 7000/- as per some paers, bootpolishwallahs, shingdana bechnewallah on the train, panipuri bhelpuri wallah, chaiwallah, loading and unloading workers, millworkers etc. etc. are all bhaiyas whom all will marathi manoos remove from mumbai it is a big question to be thought besides the drawback are also that whenever a gorakhpur or a chappra express arrives at kalyan or mumbai station you can see a whole lot of people coming who will look like the whole have them are fleeing from hungers and attrocies that they face from their lands and coming to mumbai to do any kind of jobs the real cuplrits are laloo prasad and mulayam singhs etc. who are literally doing nothing for their state.

I remember very well.Last time when Australia viisted us(cricket team).Agarkar was MOM in one of the match and that match was played in Nagpur.During presentation ceremony,Agakar was asked about his views and he started speaking in english,MR pawar(that crooked face half lakva mara) guy interrupted him and said "talk in marathi you are maharastraian".Shocking !! this was said in front of foreign officals,Australian team and spectators,(live telecast).Shocking!!! how can Indian progress?
one should know that 95% industrialist are non marathi. 90% bollywood filmstar are non marathi.65% commercial organisations belong to non marathis. It is the non marathis who are giving livelyhood to marathis. Raj Thackrey should learn from west bengal. What they did to non bengalis in sixties made all the big group shift their Ho to bombay and the now see the state of the so called commercial centre of india. India is one and every one compliments the other and then only we are moving ahead. By dividing the society on the basis of region/caste we are not thinking for the betterment of the country. However I feel this remark is only for the galleries and no educated or sensible person would appreciate Raj's remarks.

Just tell me one thing Mr. Khemka .... if non marathis are that good why don't they go to their own state and prosper there? It's only because of friendly and desciplined nature of maharashtrians that maharashtra is way ahead than others and not because of non-marathis.
Only development in maharastra is bombay- The city developed by GUJJUS!!! and you gathis protested in 1960 and burned killed Gujjus.Shiv sena commited atrocites.NOw surat and ahmedabad are more powerful and in comign days,bombay will sperate zone.Till recently in early 2000 all stations name were in gujarati,hindi and english but dogs like thackeray cant see propserity.
And talking about north indian,They have played their part in developing city.

They shoot you, you have a problem. They do hard work and earn their bread, you have a problem.
Its a political war within Shiv Sena. It has nothing to do with North or South Indian.
Raj Thakre helped developed Shiv Sena and then one day his uncle (Senior Thakre) Decleared his not very smart Kid, Uhhav as Party chief. Raj got mad and he started his own party.
In comming Assembly election shiv Sena Saffron votes will be badly divided. Congress- NCP will again come to power.
Raj is looking at Big Picture after Senoir Thakre will be gone from scene, he will be his political heir. Only Problem is Senior Thakre is still alive and his patients are running out. So he started this hate North Indian campaign.
Lalu and Mulayam Singh Yadav will also politically benefit from this whole episode. They will project to their people as their only voice outside their state.
