WOUNDED BIHAR AND BIHARI
by edge on Feb 14, 2008 10:36 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do believe that there is a paramount role for the Central government to play here, and that the government act to correct wrongdoing existing . Since independence, Bihar have been left almost unguarded. Sometimes, we Biharis have strong desire to believe , %u2018 it is a planned conspiracy to keep Bihar a backward state%u2019 ? And I do believe that the financial, technical support & guidance by the Central govt. was never enough, while making billions in profits by exploiting natural resources & its people, almost nothing in return was given to Bihar. The same happened in education and technical education , and this keep on coming back and haunt us. The Central government has an obligation to put on Bihar on the priority, otherwise, there%u2019s going to be a very bad ending.

who are we?
by raj rajan on Feb 14, 2008 08:49 AM  Permalink

This is what happens when one gets too much freedom... may be we are not that class of human being who understands the true meaning of freedom.. thats why we have always tried to take unfair advantage of it.. still we boast to be one of the most potential (?) developed countries of the next decade ! how ironic, isnt it?

Senseless Controversy
by Suraj Yadav on Feb 14, 2008 04:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am from Bihar but did my education in Mumbai. I think the above article shows a poor discipline in Bihar's school/colleges. The above article may be just a isolated incident. Again this is due to the way the politicians make common people brainwash and make them believe they can protest for any stupid reason.
The simple reason why Bihar politicians want people to behave like this is they cannot sway people unless people stay uneducated !!

controlled migration
by HB on Feb 14, 2008 03:37 AM  Permalink

whether interstate or intrastate migration, there is a limit for any city to sustain. We don't want to create overcrowded, dirty, unsustainable cities. instead there must be law to avoid this situation. this will lead to controlled migration and since industries need manpower, they will be forced to invest in these underdeveloped states.

Comments from the people saddened me. Today, Bihar & Biharis paying price for the negligence shown to this state by the ruling elites. Has it occured to anyone howmuch Bihar's natural resources exploited & looted ? Today, every Bihari feels cheated and let down !! Ruling elites must respond to the present day of Bihar & its people ? Biharis owe an explanation from the ruling class...........

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate.
by Attatar Yena on Feb 13, 2008 12:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is a limit to how many people Mumbai or Maharashtra can accommodate. No doubt about that. Certainly these places cannot accommodate all of Bihar and UP and the question is why should they ?? Has anybody thought about this ?? It is high time that we the people of this country decide on this issue which has serious implications on all areas that affect quality of life. Raj Thakerey's protest against UP and Bihars (not all Northies as media says) is the first step in that direction. So why should Raj be blamed ??
When DMK supports LTTE why is there no concern about regionalism ??
When Akalis install the portrait of Gernail Singh Bihdrawale in Dam Dami Taksal (who wanted to break up India) why was there chilly silence among the desh Bhakts ??
When Bengalis openly rioted to protest against exclusion of Saurabh Ganguly from Indian Cricket team where were the media that cries foul against regionalism??
When Biharis were slaughtered in Assam why was media silent?? Where was all the love for biharis then ??
The truth is people from UP and Bihar have swamped the states like Delhi, Orissa, Assam, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Wherever they go they start behaving like they are in Azamgarh or Siwan. They do not respect the culture in which they go. Raj Thakeray's fight is against those that want to convert maharahstra into azamgarh or Siwan. This fight is not for jobs or resources but to maintain local culture and avoid lawlessness of UP and bihar.

Just because blunders are there a mistake can be taken for granted. A mistake is a mistake. This is what happened in Mumbai. Leave apart the political or regional skewness for a while and then think what happened really. If some city is getting crowded, the solution is not stopping people to enter or vacate it, solution is supporting with resources and thats why we all pay taxes. A city becomes a city only when people make it big and big. You go back 100 years when probably only Marathis were there(Gujarat then was a part of Bombay State) and then imagine it. It wont be that colourful. If there are civic issues, solve it. And most important people from Bihar dont come for looting. To earn livelihood in any part of country is a fundamental right and mere regional interest can never be bigger than the contitution. Mumbai hass not been shaped by any particular community so no body can claim for it.
Imagine 7 days of Mumbai when all non Marathis dont go for work. Economy will slow down like anything.
The point is we all when work together we can produce great results. We devide and India gets divided in n number of parts and the nation will loose its sense.
This is the time to control ourselves.
We are Indian if we are One.

N we r happy that our own culture is still preserved and we r not yet into the footsteps of Mumbai/ Delhi for that matter...At least we r certainly not materialistic..This u'll only realise when u visit Bihar n feel the warmth of the ppl here..I guess u better stay focussed on ur own family rather than taking care of nation..okay?

And mind..don't pull places in between..may be u can take it as a generic statement..But, then also its not completely true..Do u mean 2 say that the culture of Siwan/Azamgarh is pathetic..U r wrong dear..Its much better than ur so called modern culture..We still have family values, joint families, respect 4 each other and to top them all unity among ppl..Unlike Delhi/ Mumbai, where ppl living in same apartment/ floor don't knw each other..

(CONTD...)
Lalu and Amarshing should drown in chulu bhar pani because it is their failure that people from UP and BIhar are flocking to other states. What have they done to improve the situation in UP and Bihar?? Before commenting on what is right and wrong these leaders should get out of their AC cars and mix with common people instead of partying with bollywood celebrities. Just ask what people of Orrisa, Delhi, Assam, and Rajasthan think about people from UP and Bihar and you will know why the Raj Thakeray got so much support in Maharashtra . As for Abu Azmi, he is ISI agent and a traitor. He incited muslim mob in mumbai to riot which directly lead to death of two policemen last year. People will not forget nor forgive traitor Abu Azmi.
