buying old ships is just one side of it. we also need to look at what happened in the incident. how come people of the lower rung got affected? what is the image that navy projects to the beuraucrats. lots remained unanswered

screw you buddy, i served on the trenton and i can't believe they sold you guys the ship. maybe you guys should stick to chopping up old ships for scrap instead of trying to sail them.
It is shameful that the blood of our nation's defence personnel is considered to be a free boot polish for the dhoti kurta dharis.!! Not even one misnter has taken responsibility for such mishaps and resigned out of personal shame or guilt.The regularity of mishaps in Army,Navy,Air Force due to faulty equipment is nothing but a reflection on the demonic assumption by the dhoti kurtas that the blood of brave soilders is an acceptable loss in the balance sheets of their profits!!MERA BHARAT MAHAN!
THE NAVY CANNOT BUY A SHIP ON ITS OWN,ALL DEALS ARE DECIDED BY THE IAS BABUS IN DEFECNCE MINISTRY.WHAT WILL POOR NAVY OFFICERS WHO GET KICKS BY DEFENCE SECRETARY DO BUT SIGN THE DOTTED LINE?

I dont agree: no doubt we can build anything if we desire, every thing is here, man power and money also, but the problem is that highest level people dont want it build idegeniouly, instead they want to to purchase from outside. If we can build a rocket, why we canot build defence equips here, it is a clear lack of will, and nothing will fly over money.

that is difficult dude. bcoz India Govt. can afford to pay high prices to buy junk from Russia and US but can't pay a good salary to hire good Engineers and Naval Architects.

Yes, we have the capacity to do it...ha ha. It will take us 30 years to build the first prototype of the warship, which will be promptly rejected by the navy. Finally the project will be scrapped after wasting thousands of crores of rupees. India is still building the Arjun battle tank for more than 30 years...army still waiting! Finally army is buying Russian tanks.

I honestly agree with you. We are loosing precious life almost every day due to these junks in the Indian armed forces.
It is a unfortunate happening of a MOCK exercise of a naval operation,one should not see corruption in each & every aspect as a Jaundice induced man sees everything in yellow spectrum. MAY THEIR SOUL REST IN PEACE ! AMEN !
Old ship deal who got how much? Any control on quality of material is laid down or not? Junk material sold ----? Any country USA, USSR, CHINA, who supply material there need to be some qualitative control of at least 20 to 30 qualified experienced memebers - independantly so that pocketing will not be easy.

Remember we got INS VIRAT 50 yrs old ship from British Navy. Actually they dont want to sale it instead searching for a dumbyard, we subsequently got.
