India is unfit for democracy as prophesied by JRD Tata and Lee Kwan Yew the founder of Singapore. It will be ruled by thugs, bandits and maureders as per Churchil during the statement made when india became independent. We have seen this in 61 yrs. Rampant corruption, misrule, psycophancy etc. etc. The latest example is J&K, where Farukh Abdulla is making anti national statements and getting scot free.
Democracy is good, but not in the present form. Democracy will be useful when the same rule is used for poor and rich, irrespective of their caste and religion. Same laws for all, with responsible people over the nation. The present type of multi-party parliamentary democracy is of no use for us. Day by day we get divided and segregated into several groups by these politicians on the basis of religion, caste, language and region etc. Politicians those who want to become a CM or PM starting his own party, giving shelter to anti social elements with black money, only to divide us and create a new group of their own vote bank. We should adopt and have a bi-party system with like in America where voters can directly vote and elect their PM or CM. Based on the % of votes polled to the parties, MP's or MLA's can be nominated by each party according to their manifestos and priorities. In a two party system the cost for the candidates contesting the elections from both the parties can be borne by the EC, which can remove lot of corruption from the politics. It is the only solution for us to get rid of several problems and to take our country towards our goal. The present and future generations should spend some time to think and act on this matter. All like minded people should come together to bring clean and good politics. Swamy Vivekananda inspired all Americans during his visit. Sri Lal Bahadur Sastry by saying Jai Javan and Jai Kisan created an history and became an example of
The Fact is that India is a Failed Democracy!. For last 61 years it has not solved even a single problem but added new ones. People are divided into Vote banks. Most politicians are corrupt and incompetent. People are tolerating this system because there is no alternative available.
Who told you Indian economy has flourished? Yes it is flourished but corruption has increased at all level. Brokers has been increased substantially like amar singh & shukla with a slogan ‘Pay the Money get the things” & “incredible India”. Population has increased last 5-10 years but government have no effort to reduce such thing. We have 2 ? times population compare to US but we have a several other population due to mismanagement of our economy.Ministry of Finance has 4-5 secretaries and each secretary handling one department and they have well knowledge about their department out to control money circulation, expenditure, custom & central excise etc. but all of they miserably failed all aspects. Even though minister himself well economist and educated from Harvard but it is very sad for indian huge population he is totally fail all aspects and now a days all the service class people are total happy with him. He is purely ‘ Mukesh Ambani’ man and he can’t deny. He is a minister for country not for ambani. The way he talking it shows his dearness with ambani. First he told let us wait some time once monsoon arrive automatically price will come down and subsequently inflation will under control. The same story was repeated by Dr. Montek singh Aluvalia but inflation has increasing every week end not decreasing. Ok let them take responsibility those who are earning 19/- to 20/- per day. He will provide the food two time at their cost becaus

Absolutely true. The fact that our neighbours have either had no democracy or had spurious versions of the same during breif periods is proof enough. When Autocracy in the garb of emergency threatened democracy the people of india reacted with pride and gave a resounding verdict that lead bernard levin to comment "India voted in a manner which put ancient an sophisticated democarcies to shame" . Then how democracy is working in USA and Europe? As a matter of fact we have learnt the concept of demcracy from the west, before that we used to ruled by kings, and they became so powerful that we started worshipping them as Gods.
What about FC Kohli and Ramadorai. TCS was the first and still the largest in the business. They started in the 60's. Rediff should not have forgotten them.
a country where the majority have to pamper the minorities all the time? where no law is created to effectively deal with terrorists? where corrupt and criminal elements become our netas?
