Guys in my view we need something like Chinese kind of communism at least looking at the current political scenario.Capitalism is working out fine in the developed countries because of their less population. Its said that in such scenarios u leave the country to a free market control, even with vested interests and everything will take care of it self.Even the limited labour factor will ensure that unskilled workers are paid well. The Govt. may need to interfere less until and unless any issue of national importance arises. But in India we are still not ready for a full free market economy. And seeing the kind of politicians our democracy is churning out, democracy itself needs to be kicked out for sometime and a politburo be formed with more transparency and accountability who can best balance the the concepts of socialism and capitalism and march on till we reach a stage where we can capitulate to a complete free market economy.---Of course forget the constitution :)

I agree 100%, a strong leader should sit at the top, atleast for some period of time and make these politicians and govt employees to either to do their work or kick them out.
Chinese style wont work in india now cos we have got used to democratic freedoms and adopting it will backfire and people who will come to power will resort to large scale looting safe in the knowledge that they cannot be voted out of power.

It may Work. Its said that during Indir Gandhi's 1975 Emergeny although she misused lot of her powers,India's Growth improved significantly during that period and sarkari babus became more efficient than ever before :)

Mr Swashbuckler you are wrong I think we need a bi party system as in U.S and U.Kwhere a party gets full time to work for 4 years without thinking of coalation partners. What syatem china has is about suppressing people and supressing media.Which is not the way we should work.Yes there are loopholes in democrecy which can be ammended but a system like china is not workable at all.

We may have biparty systems but what about bipartisan politics.Look How in US and UK the parties united in issues of National Security and Ireland respectively? Look how shamelessly L K Advani opposed the nuclear deal in the motion of Confidence.
Two persons in recent times impacted indian history - Dr Manmohan Singh and President APJ Abdul Kalam. RISE OF BOTH REFLECTS THE SUCCESS STORY OF INDIAN DEMOCRACY, POLITY AND ETHOS. Both represent minority and lower middle class of our stratified society. THIS FAMILY BACKGROUND HAS CONFERRED On THEM HUMILITY AND COMPASSION FOR THE DOWNTRODDEN PEOPLE. The real success story of India does not lie in how many preppy malls we have but the real strength of India lies with the fates of millions whO over the years learnt how to live with malnutrition, impoverishment and inadequate resources. When we stop our cars in traffic signal how many hapless children we encounter who sell books, but can not afford to go to school to learn about the things they are selling. Isn't a vulgar exhibition of wealth when some rich people spent millions over buying yachts or pompous marriages. Philanthropy is an essential ingredient of richness, wealthy people with philanthropic mindset can create wealth for the society and earn pepetuity. Spirituality if combined with wealth creation can create wonders in India. I sincerely hope both these revered towering personalities will keep trying to pitch Indian riches to contribute and share their wealth with fellow countrymen. They should come forward to strecth hands to Govt efforts to reach out millions and reciprocally Govt should see that the funds of philanthropic organizations are spent honestly. Politics is often seen with cynicism - must change. JAI H
When Failures are deducted from Achievements, what is left? ' ' or '-' or '0'? Whatever it be! All the success and failures affects only rich people. Let us keep working hard to maintain our family and India moving. Jai Hind.
theres corruption and looting of our natural resources by our political businessmen, even they have started exporting our sands exploiting our ecosystem and taken to the point of no return. Easy money for them.
what kind of improvement are we talking. i couldnt see any, the roads, the power and water supply problems.
Just sporting chinese and western products is the only change i could see.

All the difference is with the liberty that we have to talk of development and welfare. But we don't do any thing indiviually. We expect every thing from the so called Government elected and run by people who invest to win and loot public later.
Prakash Karat and Mayavati are the two greatest leaders India has produced in recent times. Mayavati will be India's future PM and the PM in waiting. Mayavati and Prakash Karat along with AB Bardhan will transform India to a beautiful land like CHINA. India will sign many deals with CHINA for the development of India. BSP will get 100 seats in North India, Left will get 75 seats and UNPA is aiming for another 100 seats. Advani & Modi is fighting inside BJP, so some of its sections of people will support Maya and Left if it misses the majority. India need leaders like PRAKASH, YECHURI, BARDHAN & MAYA and not like MMS & KALAM

See the mentality of left people. While being in India, they will support China which is a great threat to India. China claim more than half of Our North east territory belongs to them and these left anti nationalists are supporting China. What a pity...

1. he has been one of the founding fathers of our space programme (SLV- satellite launch vehicle). today India is one of the select few (8 or 9) countries that have indigenously develpoed and launched satellites. We watch T.V get weather reports etc. all due to satellites.
2. he has done critical work in building our defence through the missiles programme.
3, Has been the National security adviser
4. Above all, served as President of the Nation.
5. continues to tour the nation and understands the problems faced by the people. Most politicians dont even tour their own constituency even during timkes of crisis.

another important thing abt Dr Kalam is that, he was the first President to return a Bill to Parliament for reconsideration.
Even now he is going as guest lecturer to many universities across the country so that many students irrepective of their region, get benifitted by his knowledge and get inspired by hi. He believes that youth power alone can make our nation stronger.

I feel it is better for every one to discuss about the problems Dr Kalam has highlighted and their relavance in building great India. The discussion should revolve around the way and means of achiving these.
