No doubt we made progress but we have long way to go. 600 to 700 million of people have yet to taste the fruit of true freedom. But I agree what ever corrupt system we have, we still manage to atleast crawl forward. When I see Pakistan, Srilanka, Nepal, almost whole Africa, Mideastern country, east European country, I feel good about India.
To most of blogger on this forum, India gave them education, that why they are sitting in west and cursing our country.
I am very proud of my country. May god bless it with peace and prosperity.
Sawtantra Diwas ki Subh Kamna....Azadi Mubarak...Happy Independence day.
We have a living person like Dr.Kalam to inspire the whole nation. I salute him for his outspoken qualities. He indirectly point his fingers to the degraded polity here.
He is the man who declared that we should work for 'energy independence'. He is the man who advocated evolving a way to tabulate our progress. National Prosperity Index. He is the man who identified the power of youth and who inspires the youth. He is the man who view nation through the villages and the poor. He is the man who identifies the soul of India in villages. He is the man who proposes the National Campaign to Eradicate Terrorism- see the ways identified. He is the man who proposes the project 'Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas' He is the man who identified the unemplyability of youth He is the man who visualized the 'Vision 2020'. He is the man who saw the Thorium Technology for nuclear energy dependable for India He is the man who takes oath 'I will work with integrity and succeed with integrity.' He is the man who advised Indians to take the oath 'I will work with integrity and succeed with integrity.' He is a right person to be worshiped. Identify all his qualities in an idol and worship it. Let the youth get inspired from him. Let Mother India progress Jai Hind!!

These are other words by Kalam that we need only two party system; Congress and BJP will supply meat and egg for whole Indians, and flow milk in the streets of India.
DEAR ALL,In present crisis of patriotism and democracy in India,We require visionary and truthful leader, which we Indians need in present and future days of our survival of accountability, in so called democracy.Shri.Abdul Kalam, is the right person at this time of crisis. We do not require feudal, one family, dynastic democracy-so called supported by the rogues- politicians of country, in name of stability.See, what has happened in last 4 years of congress and allies rule and 60 years after independence. All non elected, but rubber stamped- P.M, home minister, and President - selected ones -are ruling at this time of crisis for Nehru clan- family dynasty, by hook and crook,..Present political scenario is to continue only this family rule in name of democracy. To eradicate terrorism, we require nationalist and human approach, with strong, perseverent and courageous steps. It looks all Sonias,Lalus,Mayavatis ,MUlAYAMAS ,SIBU`S AND KARUNANIDHIS ARE DOING UNDEMOCRATIC AND treachorous, ANTI NATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR SUTVIVAL OF THEIR POLITICAL EXISTENCE.What SHRI ABDUL KALAM AND OTHER SILENT, NATIONALIST INTELECTUALS, require to do ,is to expose the wrong doing of rogue, selfish and untrustworthy politicians.India, at present time, needs nationalist, honest and uncorruptible leaders ,having mass support.I do understand, honorable,Ex-President Shri Abdul Kalam(self respecting person, having high regards for morality and integrity of his own character.,would be in dilemma!!Dr>R
APJ says 220 million are below poverty line. And look at the stat rediff quotes in the lines just below- a whopping 836 million surviving on Rs 20 a day! That shows APJ is losing it. Either he is blissfully unaware about India's reality or he is just towing the BJP's propoganda of India shining.
With due respect to Mr Abdul Kalam. I have high regards towards Abdul Kalam, his knowledge, his committment and his behaviour. I am belong to a middle class family and I know that a president is in a very better position to bring changes/ reforms with his authority. Can anyone help me understand/ know 5 things which Mr Abdul Kalam changed/ reformed India after he became President (Not before President). No offense but just want to know. Again, I am not asking for a motivational speeches/ words but reforms/ changes taken by him as a president.

Krishnan, I am an Indian. I guess you dont have an answer to my question. As I mentioned earlier, I have high regards to Mr. Kalam but I dont recollect any reform which he brought. I do remember his acheivements as a scientist and I also remember what T.N.Seshan acheived and why politicians fear him.

Reform India? first reform yourself, take care of your family, elders, relatives and friends ... India will automatically reform.
i have a strong hate towards UPA FOR NOT SUPPORTING the great personality like APJ Kalam to become president for second time who is right person for becoming 1st citizen of india..let us take a pledge not to give even a single vote to congress

Sunal, Why would 'corrupt' UPA support a sincere, efficient president like Dr. Kalam? Congress has loved non-functional, dummy presidents from 1947 and Ms. Patil is very well suited for it

why r u so think over the position President. And i think Dr. Kalam didnot do any great by choosing the position, bcase being a president he just wasted his valuable time as scientist as well did the same going on till independence. Without being a president, the puppet of cabinet,(lot of peoples' money is spent to maitain the luxury but no duty towards people) if he gave us idea, no difference.

we need a political reform. educated and well informed ppl sud go to poling booth..and its high time keep some (most except some)nasty politicians out ....the policy of some politicial party is to appese the uneductaed and get the vote and after that they do , wat they wish to do...by this the socity and our future of all at risk..its high time for all of us to think about this..
