by Bahaddur Khan on Aug 10, 2008 04:06 PM  Permalink

Last time there were rains in AP, Govt spent crores in news paper adverts thanking gods, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi for the rains...so can we expect full colour page adverts this time as well or the govt will get its back off the warm bench and help the people in need...no no no not their party workers who pose as helping volunteers but the real aam admi who lost their lives or belongings...shame on your govt YSR....bring back Naidu... he is at least efficient alongside being corrupt...

Recycle India
by huzzi lilamwala on Aug 10, 2008 02:09 PM  Permalink

With the climate playing the games it is. We as citizens of India have to act responisibily. With a billion people in the country its time the government turns to recycling. This would help to create more jobs earn a higher income source for the state governmnets. Its time the Government actually took some good from the west and applied it to the country.

Planning for the future
by raju choppella on Aug 10, 2008 01:05 PM  Permalink

How about planning in such a way that the CLIMATE CHANGE phenomena is given due consideration, WHAT IF IT SNOWS BADLY? Are we to say that this we never expected or are we to have officials who act instead of face cameras and show helplessness. We need pro-active leadership, not the laid back, this cannot happen attitude.....

What's news in this?
by Anointed One on Aug 10, 2008 11:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is bound to rain in the rainy season. If that does not happen, many times more people will die due to drought. The death toll quickly reaches dozens as there is gross overpopulation.

A cold statement no doubt...but it's not inaccurate. The population explosion saw encroachments upon the city's storm sewers. THAT is the reason why people in Ashok Nagar are being evacuated. Soon we'll see large scale evacuations necessary along the Musi. If you build a house in the path of water, you got to expect your house to be flooded some day or the other.

We can blame it on the government or the corporators or anyone for that matter. but our guy here is right the culprit is the population.

It's sad, but true.
