I am encouraged to see the response to the article published in India Abroad. I believe we should welcome the criticism as well. I am sure we will learn from such discussions. The comments about MULAYAM and LALOO were interesting. They have been leaders for a long time and have solid base in the country. they have democratic credentials. Their appeal is not confined to the Yadav community,it is broad based across the whole spectrum of society. So what if Laloo comes across as a clown, he is able to put his view point in a language and manner people understand and appreciate. He was able to deliver his speech in the parliament, with a punch, during the nuclear debate. He is most sought after speaker in all kinds of gatherings. He was invited to the Golden Jubilee celebrations of one of the most prestigious medical institution in Delhi. He was able to instal his illitrate wife as Chief Minister in Bihar who later won the election for a fresh 5 years term. I fully subscribe to the theory put forward by Mrs Thatcher that running a country is like running a home, only the scale is larger. Like the mother has a pivotal role in any home, so does the Chief Minister in a state. Lalloo was the find and protege of Jaiprakash Naryan. In nutshell one can not become a leader and stay on the top in a democracy unless one has the quality of leadership. The same goes for Mulayam. He has a large muslim vote bank that does not mean that he is a convert. This simply goes to prove that he has secular
Another caste based organization. Even in 21st we identify ourselves by our caste. I am ashamed. Be prepared for another Yadavi sangarsh within the organization. Well, Yadavas of today cannot be descendants of Lord Krishna. Descendants of Krishna were destroyed by Gandhari's curse, if what's mentioned in Mahabharat is correct. Probably they might be descendants of Yadu, but definitely not Krishna.

If you want to see the role & importance of caste & caste based organisations in Indian society, please travel to rural areas of India and then I think you will not be ashamed. And more, even in the present era of free India we have been denied a AHIR regiment whereas many other influential castes enjoy this benefit and yadav youths are not elligible for recruitment in such caste based regiments where caste is the sole criteria and not the merit.Regarding Gandhari's curse, most of the yadavas died but some of the clan survived, please read Mahabharata again.with regards.

You should not be ashamed. In principle you are correct. In practicality, you are detached from Indian reality. If you have a group that represents a sizable population of India (possibly the largest, not 2nd largest as reported) and attempts to raise awareness amongst it's own clan, how can you consider it to be backwards? Its a very sizable number. Come to think of it, it is much bigger than many European countries!! I do not see anything wrong in up-lifiting any society, be it clan based or otherwise, as long job gets done and society at large benefits from it. Dig around yourself, from Gujrat's Paanch-Ganv to Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, you can not escape from this reality within India. You should ask yourself - how come Yadav's at large are not in the 21st century in-spite of having a great history and sizable population!? You will get your answer.
