AP news today Washington: "Even if no new reactors are built, getting rid of the country's nuclear waste will cost $96.2 billion and require a major expansion of the planned Nevada waste dump beyond limits imposed by Congress, the Energy Department said Tuesday.
The $96.2 billion — in 2007 dollars not accounting for future inflation — includes $13.5 billion already spent on the Yucca project, $54.8 billion for construction and operation over 150 years and closing costs anticipated in 2113. It assumes the site will begin accepting used reactor fuel in 2020 and continue accepting shipments for 50 years."
Have Indian nuclear advocates accounted for this huge cost of handling waste?

Hope our men will see this news. It is high time to stop all our further processes. Here they say the disposal is for 150 years. But as per the standards it should be kept safe for ten thousand years. Google "Group up for £17bn Sellafield job"
Indian neck always hanging with US hand which UPA government can not deny. When they will chop, what reasons they will cut our agreement we do not know. The present situation suits us and our UPA has signed the agreement for survival of their government and it is also fact no political parties ready to face the general election including Comrades [Leftist]. Nobody knows tomorrow if there is war between Iran or other countries which US government is not liking in many ways he may advise us to send Indian force for battle and at that time only we have see what our government is accepting. Even he may mount pressure in many issues when some of the crucial matter is discussing in UN and NSG group also mount pressure to move with NSG. At time what is our stand we do not know situation will tell the truth. One thing sure if any thing went against our brave soldiers or our armed forces we common people should sit silently.

If deal is so bad why does Pakistani are crying hoarse over indo-us nuke deal & demanding similar deal for themselves .Because Pakis know that it will lift dual Technology-denial regime.BJP is protesting this deal just for the shake of opposition dharma (because they are in opposition)even though they were themselves negotiating same deal. And commies are opposing because they were told top oppose the deal at any cost by their Chines RING MASTERS & Muslims are protesting because of Pakistani Masters/ISI.

The cat is out of the bag. with comments like 'India should also compromise..." the nibbling away of India's independence in the nuclear field has started. In the end, by whatever name it is called, we will be another NPT Signatory.

I am sorry to disagree Mr.Murli, yesterday, Ms.Rice mentioned and I quote "...we do not expect India to sign NPT or CTBT...and we also realise that India can pull away from the deal if forced..."
