DMK President and current Chief Minister of tamilnadu is the first person who installed his own statue in a prime location of state capital Chennai (then called as Madras)during his first regime in power in Seventees.But when his arch rival and three time cM Mr. M.G.Ramachandran (MGR)died in 1987, Karunanidhi's statue was ransacked by angry mob who came to attend MGR's funeral. After that Karunanidhi wisely decided not to reinstall his statue and even announced a law that there will be no ststues are building named after the living persons and he promptly renamed the 'Jayalaltha Film City' to MGR Filam City'. mayawathi is another karunanidhi of seventees now and she will pay a heavy price for all her misdeeds and her ststue will be removed by the people when she lose her power in near future.
Sadam Hussain's statue in Iraq were pulled down in his own life. Bahin Mayavati has long inning to play and Statue politic will not bring her good credit except short time cheap costly publicity in a poor state
India has had been in stone age still.It raises the idols, do worship before the idols and ultimately they throw the idols into water.They live in the same style since time imemorial.They spend a lot on the idols.Sometimes in the past the iconoclast from abroad came and looted the country but the national army and the natives sat before the idols asking it to save them.What better we can expect more from the CM or the public than stone statues all over the state.

I think you are talking about God idols. You are confusing the topic. You are comparing idol of God to Idol of mayawati. We hindu worship God in form of Idol. We in India never had national army. Please update your History. India was never one country. Except during Ashoka, Mugals and Britishers. We were Maratha, Gujrati,punjabi, kannad etc. Those foriegn invader never defeated whole India, they defeated small ruler.
you said people did not fight war, they sat in front of idols. Now You need a lesson in Hinduism too. We hindu were never told temple will save us. If you read Gita, you will know it talk about Karama. You have to do Karam ? Please think before you comment on anything.
Yes if you are talking about Maya installing her own Statue, then their are lot of politician, who do things that make no sense.
Their is no doubt that MAYA is gone mad.she wants to be god.she want that pple worship her and pray her. she making fool to illitrate and poor DALIT's. her end is very soon.she is thinking that whole country and pple of UP is fool.

They are indeed fools.. thats the reason she won UP elections with Full majority. I am really supprised on so called "Swarns" who supported her and are with her.. shame.. Waise to every one in politics is thief but Mayawati is the worst.

Hi Dharmendra please don't say Maya gone MAD. Because, the moment her statue is installed, all the people below Poverty Line wil get their food and shelter for their life time.
All the homeless dalit people will feel happy that 20-25 tonnes of stone is to be used for the Statue.
The sculptor Shri Ram Sutar would be the only beneficiary - if Maya pays him for his work.
Poor Dr Ambedkar - is not here now to learn lessons from Mayavati, as to how a dalit could be a crorepati within a decade and how to pay crores of rupees as IT.
My heartfelt sympathies to all the Poor who believes in Mayavati
