Karunanidhi s political clout at the Centre
by S S on Aug 04, 2008 01:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A few weeks ago, Tamil Nadu’s CM had put on hold the Hogenakal Scheme stating that it would be taken up only after the formation of the government in Karnataka.
Even after the formation of the government he is not in a hurry to press the issue. Now that the UPA Government has won the trust vote he has given a ‘go ahead’ for the continuation of the project without consulting Yeddyurappa. The Centre has all of a sudden come up with a view that Lord Rama had destroyed the bridge himself and that no religious sanctity needs be attached to the issue.
The speed with which the issue was taken up right after the trust vote speaks volumes about the clout wielded by Karunanidhi at the Centre even though he is heading a minority government. If every minority party takes advantage of the contribution made by them to win the trust vote, who will take care of States ruled by other parties? And where is democracy?

Mr.SS (Slimy shit),

spit bugs must not worry about states and centre.

Why Karuna has to consult Yeddy for TN's local project.

r u mad?

The project was wisely put on hold, because Karnataka Politicians made it an electoral issue and misguided people. Otherwise, they also knows that they have nothing to do with the drinking water project.

As like you, there are crores of hindus in the country who are not VHP or Bajrang dal activists and care a damn if the bridge was there or not. However, spreme court has justifiedly asked for an explanation for calling a strike by de facto govt. In fact leader of any political party should be arrested if forced a bandh on common people, specially when they are in power and using govt. machinary to make bandhs successful.

It is not that Lord Ram and his message will be lost if sethu is broken but the audacity of leaders who can go to any extend to hurt Hindu sentiments.

Even NASA has accepted the bridge but not Indians.

I remember reading NASA's denial in newspapers saying they didn't make a mention of anything and they claim its a sedimentation which they refer as Adam's Bridge... would you please let me know some NASA Website where NASA had accepted that this Bridge was built by Lord Ram... Please don't manipulate people by creating your own site and for your own well being... or for any political gain... please be objective only then you can grow, only if people like us grow our nation can grow... so please grow up and start looking out.....

They are lawmakers and nobody has a right to question him. Moreover this is prestige issue for CM of TN because when opposition has filed the petition means, ruling party have whimsical to reply it or not. Though matter went to Hon. Apex court so naturally whomsoever he has to reply. Moreover present CM himself told several times I will always honour the judgement of court but why he delayed for such reply. Let them he or his government to reply immediately otherwise unnecessary consequence will happen which government is very well aware.

Supreme Court and Karunanidhi
by Rajesh Vyas on Aug 04, 2008 01:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The learned Supreme Court Judges are probably unaware that the arms of law are not long enough to touch politicians like Karunanidhi.

Laws in India are meant for the AAM AADMI to be accountable . We have difeerent yardsticks for GOLDSMITHS and COBBLERS. Kauna belongs to the former category.

Let supreme court judges be not so NAIVE

Shaking public faith in judiciary and instant justice by public
by Rajan Sodankur on Aug 04, 2008 01:22 PM  Permalink

Day by day public trust in judiciary is dwindling after seeing how poilitical leaders with vote base and power are treated with soft gloves and allowed repeated adjournments of hearings in public interest cases like disproportionate asset, political murders, MPs arested for intimidation and murders are being entertained in prisons with TVs and mobiles,Mumbai blast accused and endangered animal shooting filmy actors are roaming freely yet, action against erring judges in Ghaziabad PF withdrawal case are taken hesitantly and slowly whereas hundreds of undertrials are languishing in jail, even innocent people are killed in police "encounters". That is why Jammu is still burning with agitating masses; shootings among security and police staff are increasing daily.More and more police stations are being attacked by Naxalites as time apsses. People think justice will be delayed and have started adminstering instant justice themselves.I don't recall any instant when courts have taken strict action against any ruling politician. The moral if a person A incites and abets B to kill C, both A & B can be brought justice, even if slowly. But under political banners and stage managing agitations and bandhs and with the blessings of political leaders if A kills C and his clan during agitation/bandhs he will get away for ever and courts haven't taken any convincing action against such strategies. So people are waiting for such occasions to settle personal scores.God save India.

Can the same court issue a warrant to all the Karnataka CM's for not implementing the cauvery tribunal award? Why only target Tamilians always? Let the supreme court issue arrest warant and see the people's response.

In the interest of free flow of traffic in Marina Beach, the previous A.I.A.D.M.K. Government removed the Kannagi Statue which was erected in the mid-way of the Marina approach road. Even the then Tamil Nadu Government assured that the removed Statue will be erected in a proper place.Karunanidhi was unable to tolerate this action and created several agitations through his party. After coming to power he immediately reinstalled the Kannagi statue in the same place itself. When such was the situation, how Karunanidhi making his appeal to the several millions of Hindu community, to forget the Ram-sethu issue which is mingled in their heart.
