How much of the same news is printed in regional languages? How many can read or afford to buy the news papers? How many have access to UNBIASED news media? How many have access to computers to read different points of view?
A scrutiny of cross-voting pattern indicates that hardly 5% of those elected to the Lok Sabha defied their party whips. 95% stayed with their respective parties. So it may not be correct to paint all with the same brush.
But what is of concern is the hypocrisy of the Left and BJP.
- When a Congress MP defects to the BJP and cross votes - it is moral. - When 6 SP MPs cross-voted by defecting to the BSP, it is moral. - When Mayawati threatens to split SP vertically, it is moral. - When Jaswant Singh goes to Mulayam Singh with a proposal to topple the Government it is moral. - When Jaswant Singh goes to Mulayam Singh with a proposal to make him PM in exchange for votes for BJP's Presidential candidate - it is moral - Poaching JDS and Lok Dal from the UPA to UNPA is moral - NDA offering CM of Jharkhand to JMM is moral - - When Yediruppa buys 12 (6 independents, 3 JDS and 3 Congress) MLAs and makes 9 Ministers, it is moral.
Only when UPA responds in kind, it is immoral. It is this selectvity that smacks of hypocrisy.
So the BJP is quiet when their CM in Karnataka gets 6 opposition MLAs to defect. But if the Congress responds by engineering 30 MLAs defection from the BJP, the BJP will cry hoarse "Murder of Demcracy, Black Day for Democracy" blah, blah, blah
They should realize that two can play the same game they chose to play and they should not weep like a child if they end up on the receiving end of the game!

You can not compare karnataka and trust vote. In karnatak nobody has accused BJP of having offered cash for support whereas in trust vote not only it was charged but cash has been shown and it is said cd has been handed over for enquiery. As regards double standard one shuld not forget that it is Congress which provided separate laws for Muslims it is secular It provided subsidy for religous pilgrim it is secular When a UPA leader says he will support government in Bihas if only a muslim is made CM it is secular When Congress provides reservation on religion it is secular But if BJP demands common civil code it is secular!!!!!

dear all right or whatever you are, dont mention the yediruppa case here, yediruppa got the JDS and Congress to defect but he asked them to resign from legislature and they didnt vote in the confidence motion. they have to get the mandate of the people before they can vote in the legislature that is what he has aked them to do. As regards to independents the standards of Indiam democracy have fallen to such lows that independents have always been traded for votes. so you foll first get you facts right and then speak on the forum.

Wrong. Yediruppa bpought 6 independents and made 5 of them Cabinet Ministers. That was before the trust vote.
So getting opposition MLAs to defect, made Ministers and stand for re-elections are OK, then if 20 BJP MLASs resign and bring down the Yediruppa govt, is also OK.
There is huge dissatisfaction among traditional BJP loyalists who had been passed over in Ministrial berths. The probability of a huge split within BJP is high

Even the Tehelka defence "sting operation" was nothing but an entrapment, with fake arms dealers trapping politicians. At that time, you anti-BJP people happily lapped up whatever Tehelka and other such media showed.
Now, when your pseudo-secular parties are caught red-handed, you give illogical reasons to lower the credibility of the evidence!

Amar Singh, Mulayam singh Yadhav are trying to escape from the case by supporting the UPA Government. it is very shameful to those politicians who are playing with money for votes. Such politicians should be taken to task by the citizens and never allow them to enter in any Government offices as an elected ,member.
