There are many events happening in India....not to mention the Indo-US Nuclear deal which USA is also part of. those events never made headlines in US. then why this event was HEADLINES of mainstream american media? Friends pls use your blog, etc tools to explain people that this is not how Hinduism and it is machinations of American Mainstream media and Christian lobby.
It is just to undermine the Hinduism and show them in bad light.

i do not agree with u Mr.talk cool.First Americans are not hypocrites like Indians and i can quote one million example and u will be ashamed.One most recent is CNN,MSNBC is all about Warren Jeff the christian sect polygamist and who is making headlines everyday in US.They dont hide anything its always there out in open not like Indians who always put up a show of belonging to a great culture in fact it is the worst culture of the world.

IN 2006 350 WERE KILLED - 35 MILLION PEOPLE GO THERE!!! THEY DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN THERE!!!

The total disregard of human life is the hallmark of Indian populace. We are so corrupt that even in the face of such tragedy the responsible party will get away scott free. The total lack of accountibility in our country has led to such debasement of life in general.
IF GOD was there then Why not came out from temple to save the devotee...?? I am not muslim or Christ but hindu , People should understand that nothing is there in temples and sharines , only the thing is one shoud follow right path and soul should be clean , Work and Good deeds is only the worship.

hey man u will not shit in kitchen nor cook in toilet,,not u will eat in bathroom,, cooking is done in kitchen, shitting in toliet, and eating in dining hall..
same way gods are worshipped in temples,,,
if u say people died so no need ot go to temple..they lakhs of them die on road accident u mean to say never go on road...
its unfortunate that this even has happend don't mix religion with it......just becoz of people like u whole of hinduisum gets bad name.. wonder where u people will be when something happens in masjid and church,.

2500 years ago, in this very land, Buddha said the same thing... anyway, rest is history..
This is not the first time such a tragedy has happened in India. We Indians are so much carried away by emotions and sentiments in the name of god that we have to face this situations. God does not want his devotees to create a fiasco, pollute the land in the name of the supreme divinity. But its sad to know that our minds wont change until a new age is born. We Indians blame the Government everytime for all this happenings. But what about we as the people of India. We also have some responsibility towards making our country a better place to live. Unless we behave nobody can change our country and its people.
We should understand while flocking at religious places or for at at any place.We are in search of God in temple and forget the God stays in our heart, in our home! "Deva nahi Devaryat" Saints teaching are like this. We all visit for Ganapati immersion at beaches, gather for Jagnnath Ratha and attract such tragidies.The places are small, way is difficult,no facilities.We must think.One should search god in humanity,love, help to needy.Search god within us. Do visit at leisure when there's no festivals.
I hope govt can do something....this is what I have read in the comments below. "Prevention is better than cure". You can do something to help govt too! FAMILY PLANNING & POPULATION CONTROL are the two topics I can present to all deperates here. Don't always expect someone to do something. Glad this did not happen by a terror attack.

how can they do family planning man,,,, they will loose votes from 15% people......
still not understood just becoz muslims oppose family planning it is not been made mandatory/////
Our Government has no value of life.. Such things have been going on for years at the Historic temples like Amarnath and all.. Hindu worshipper go to these places all the time.
Why not the Government widen the roads, open up the area to accomodate the crowd. Imagine how the Western country would have reacted if such thing had heppened there..

It is enexpected and unfortunate incident. The government is there to protect law, order, religious value and equality. They cant afford to widen the roads. Even if they do, there will be petty flower/camphor/agarbathi shops occupying the road and the temple trust will make money out of them. Temples are opened like pan shop at every corner of the streets accomodating as many gods as possible, obstructing the traffic and daily life. They cook up some stories unheard anytime before, as the legends behind those temples and exaggerete with some "puranic/vedic" incidents happened in that temple or in that spot. Then they to comomerate or represent that story, they organise an event and gather crowd. Still such madness exist, we cant stop such incidents. Just belive in god..dont have to celeberate him or his presence.
