When Shilpa shetty is racially intimidated (not abused) in UK in a celebrated Big Brother reality show, people here in India protested against the channel as well as against Goody, but right in our backyard caste based rape, murder, abuses, discrimination, disrespect etc is shown to our fellow people. no one raises any voice. no protest, no political party comes forward to help, though they take full advantage of caste based politics to grab votes. Talking caste is considered taboo in India for general discussions but political parties do take its advantage for votes. A small girl aged six was thrown into fire and burnt police did not even bothered to arrest culprits until higher level authorities intervened. People talk about the rights of Tibetans but least are they bothered for the rights of their own fellow people. What a hypocrisy!!

While all of the above 4 states may co-exist to some extent in every person, and may show up at different times (which we call as mood of a person), we need to look at what kind of nature the person exhibits for most of the time, to classify a person in to one of the above 4 categories. This used to be done by the Gurus in gurukula in the olden days, where the guru used to get a correct insight in to each of his students. Thus, the only CRITERIA TO CLASSIFY A PERSON IS THE CHARACTER OF A PERSON, and THE CHARACTER OF A PERSON CAN CHANGE IN HIS LIFE TIME AT SOME POINT (in major way, but a rare phenomenon), WHICH MEANS THE PERSON CAN CHANGE THE CLASSIFICATION IN BETWEEN as well.

dude, you were suggesting giving south indian states away to sri lanka- now you are critizising hindus. man let hindus solve our problem - go back to sri lanka or pakistan.
The BJP-RSS walas use every excuse in the world to belittle the problem of the most evil caste system and how it hurts, tortures, harasses and humiliates crores of Indians. Kill the caste system to bring the dead India alive. Kick the Arabic decent supporters of the caste system out of India along with their BJP and RSS.
The caste system that teaches so much bigotry and hatred to the upper caste boy against an innocent 6 year old dalit girl is extremely evil. I will suggest that the boy should be hanged in public and his family put in jail for teaching him hatred against fellow citizen of India.
This type of incidents clearly shows the in-effectiveness of our education system. there are two important issues are involved, a) untouchability, b) uncontrolled anger exhibited by the boy.
In India there are thousands of victims every year, some are rape victims,some are victims of theft, dacoity, murder.
So why publish only the castes of few victims ? just because they are dalits ? or is the target to deliberately start flames of caste violence ?
Crimes against women in India are high , in general the law and order situation is bad so there are many crimes obviously some of them will be against dalits too, because they are majority in number. This has got nothing to do with caste divide this is more like a media created hate campaign.
We have too many criminals who think they are above law and then we have a unthinking media which only mentions caste names when the victims are dalits just to further divide this society on caste lines.
Shame on such media, and shame on such criminals .

In normal case, it is right not to publish the caste of the victim. However, in instant case the boy derives his anger (hatred) from a socio-cultural upbringing. Publishing here the caste of the victim, in a way serves the purpose of community teaching.

Irrespective of the cast of the victim, what the boy has done is a very serious crime and must be dealt as such. I agree that cast should not have been brought into the news. The crime that committed is way too serious. Importance should have been given to that fact. Justice must be sought on behalf of the victim. It is no fun to be thrown into fire by people with muscle, money or other privilleges.

Yes in addition to power asymmetry, the mindset of the boy is also exposed in this case. It is not only an issue of law and order, it goes beyond that. The mindset must be set right.

u also should take into account that this dalit community is facing lot of hardships in our country where u have direct r indirect crimes against targeting this community is an hard fact which u have to accept.
The perversion of all that's best in us, of all that we've won from the bestiality of our primal nature, all that we've raised above the mindless ravening urges and impulses still boiling in the mud of our monkey brains. Our first Dalit President Dr.K.R.Narayanan said that until Untouchability and discrimination against women were eliminated and I quote what he said on India's Republic Day in 2000 " the edifice of our democracy would be like a palace built on a dung heap " A democracy that allows its citizens to be condemned to a life of slavery is just that - a palace on a dung heap. Leaders of today and their ambition manipulated the causes of the society . Whole social justice issues are flawed with several blemishes, particularly questionable economic and mathematical ratios and equivalences and their relative extrapolation over varying time lags. Attitudes of the ruling elites must change.Caste division has demonstrated again and again, beyond any doubts that the institutionalized discriminatory system generated more harm & destructions than any good to the society.For centuries the poor Dalits being exploited in the name of caste and even now gullible dalits are being organized by the same caste minded people in this 21st century for the same intent ?
