by Sundar Venkat on Apr 29, 2008 10:07 AM  Permalink

Tamil Nadu wants Tamil is tobe learnt nby all. Like wise, all the Regions. But who is going stress the learning of the language of India to live in peace and harmony. What is the language tostress it please? Can anyone tell us please?

In the day of advancement and globalization, backward mentality people number is increasing
by Murli on Apr 29, 2008 10:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

According to this man's theory then a central government employee will be the worst case he/she usually gets transferred every 2 years from one place to another and he will die learning only the regional languages of every regions.

These people become doctorate somehow and start thinking that they are intelligent while the degree of PhD becomes so overloaded on their personality that hardly few of them could justify with a degree like doctorate.
In this modern open free for all world there is no concept of must, who will tell him that? According to his logic then karnataka is in the womb of India and then every kannad should be able to speak must speak Hindi, the national language.

These people like Thackrays are just creating rift and hate in the society, all of sudden inferior people have become the front runners and unrest, discontent, poor temperament and drunken of sudden attention..these have become their trademark through which they are just detoriaroting the peace and harmoney of civilized world. The process of socialism and civilization in this country under political greed has gone uncontrolled and this is why we see people like them here disturbing the society.
A day will be not far when cosntitution and Supreme Court will bring law for the nation where such people will be criminally implicated for antinational activities and booked for that. A learned criminal is far dangerous and evil like Ravana.

@murli supreme court does bring in LAW!It is the Paeliament which legislate the Laws!Supreme Court simply foolow that to give verdict on the basis of the law!But lower Courts have become corrupt and even do give justice to poor! This has been the observance of even the Supreme Court !While BAl Thackerey has been found guilty of criminal activties even by the court but the authorities cound not enforce the Law!Even raj Thacrey episode made mockery of the Law!Mr. Murthy's comments are his own!No ugly incident has happened as Kanadigas are toelrant people and unlike the Thackrey supportes who killed /burnt the innocent Indians as has been seen many times! The change in society for good will come from with in and not from so called leaders who have their own propaganda Machinery SAAMNA and many elite educated supporters who are expert in coining slogans such "BAJAO PUNGI BHAGAO LUNGI!If the elite supports this kind of hooliganism then where the great Nation like India will go only time will tell!

I am not a Kannadiga.Learning a language voluntarily is for one's own benifit. This has nothing to do with sending the children to English medium schools.Nobody talks about Hindi chauvinism.Everything started with Hindi goons imposing Hindi.Cn you live without knowing Hindi anywhere in North India. Even in places like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh Hindi dominates.People will learn it if they want. Scrap all these linguistic states, declare Hindi also as regional language with its distinct dialects like Rajasthani, Marwari, Awadhi, Bundelkhandi, BhrajBhasha, Bhojpuri, Urdu, Pahadi,Haryanvi and so on.Transfer all metros and upcoming metros as Union territories and then see all this nonsence coming to end.By the by I Have done M.A.Hindi,and personally have a great love for Hindi literature.Due to historical reasons I know 8 Indian languages including Sanskrit. That is my personal taste for
languages. But nobody can thrust upon me to learn any of them.

Bro, KA is a state where we have shown a lot of tolerance towards ppl from outside coming and settling down here! What is your problem if we make sanghas or kannada drama troops for that matter? why dont u stick to ur own business? everyone has the right to be proud of thier culture and language! it doesnt mean that other cultures are bad o somethin! if we all stick to minding our own business, that is, being proud of our respective culture, without abusing anyone else's culture, India would be peaceful!

Division by language was a blunder
by Vikramasimha Reddy on Apr 29, 2008 08:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dividing the country on language basis was a big blunder.

Ideally, the country should have been divided by horizontal and vertical lines i.e. latitudes and longitudes, which are mathematically and scientifically verifiable. That would have simplified all matters.

Even now, it is not too late.

As there is a demand for smaller states all over India (for example, Telangana movement in Andhra Pradesh), let us redivide all states all over India by horizontal and vertical straight lines.

What would you say about dividing the regiments in the Indian army on the basis of their castes then!? Sikh regiment, Jat, Maratha, Rajput etc.?
The ones who designed these knew that it worked out this way in the real world than bunching people haphazardly. Same is with the states. What would be the unifying factor if you were to draw some horizontal and vertical lines on the map and think the same exists on the ground!?
Taking it to a personal level, would you tend to move with a group which speaks your language, than one which predominantly speaks a different language? Same will be the case with villages/towns and cities..

I agree with you fully. Even I had a thought about it. Why just stop at dividing states in India, the best proposition would be to re-align the world again in latitude and longitude and let UN be the law-making body.

After this happens, second thing which should happen is that we should have a single currency across the globe.

Learning Language
by Barindranath Trivedi on Apr 29, 2008 08:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The same rule should apply to all as south indians say that you are forcing hindi on them as national language. Then you shouls learn hindi and speak only hindi with outsiders and not kannada or english.
This rule apply to those who stay in karnataka and not the visitors.

Dear Barindranath:
This is the big blunder all of you, the native Hindi-speaking people have been doing; thinking you are superior to the rest of the non-Hindi speaking people. Why don't you learn an Indian language? Why should non-Hindi people learn 3 languages and you guys only 2? It is not fair.
For your information, I speak better Hindi than you can.

I know, Hindia, English, Gujarati and marathi. I am a Gujarati and not north indian as you all say so. We all are Indians and not north indian and south indian.
That is why I am against forcing any language on any one. I am saying that nothing should be forced. Let the people try to learn as much as they can.

The same rule should apply to all NORTH INDIANS .. say they should BE LIKE ROMAN IN ROME. I am sure you might not understand what I have said. Because that is not taught in your culture. Only thing that is thought is to spit everywhere, increase the population and play dirty politics and still try to put mud on the states whose social awareness is just uncomprehensible by you NORTH guys....

This shows how confused you are. I am not aware if any one in Delhi/Patna will answere if one speaks in Kannada there. You guys force Hindi isn't it. It is the same thing expected out of you folks who are in karnataka. Speak Kannada and not Hindi.

Hindi is coolie's language and spread by some dirty UP based politicians and bollywood in other parts of north india. While india was formed it has been agreed that the every state has the right to maintain it's identity and no language can be thrusted by anyone. If you force us to learn hindi, that what is the difference between British/portugese and hindi people. Every socieety is first identified by their community and not religion. A Kannadiga can convert to Islam , Christianity, Buddhism or anything else, but remain a Kannadiga. Don't make india to face the situation like ex-USSR.

Then according to your logic all south Indian lagnuages are rakshas and tribal uncivilized languages, spoken by lineage of ravana, Ahiravana, bali Sugriv etc.
When they speak it looks so uncivilized and convulated like tribal people speaking...that too very loud just like animals. And dont feel so proud of kannadiga kannad if you dont feel respect for India and Hindi..if you can thrash peopole from coming outside you will be thrashed better when you go outside. Dam n it not a single company wil come to your place whose bread and butter is behind bangalore's prosperity while rest fo karnataka remains backward!
Don't forget that just 10-15 years back most of your sons and kannadigas were eaither jobless or working as peon or mechanic. Its IT boom started by some outsiders in the name of Texas Instrumentations, which made you realize yourself as Kannadiga and the realization whcih has now taken the look of false pride.
I am just amazed how do such beggers forget their bad time that too within the span of 15 years...and spitting venoms here. No rpoblem stand like maoists and just see how depleted of all resources you agin become idiot.
