All the regional languages in India around 1200 Is no good for long run .Mr UR Antamurthys kids itself would be studying in English mediums.I dont want to start debate which regional language is better than other .We should all concentrate on simple beautiful powerful English and should allow the reginal languages to die a graceful death that anyway in coming 30 to 50 years it will happen other wise .Thanks to Internet. The power of English is backed by the Inventions and discoveries made by English dialect people.No is no point is tuding Kannada or Mmarati ot Tamil ..All are in the same boat with about to sink. So my dear yungistan guys Follow Mtv culture first dump regional languages .Watch Hollywood movies and world movies .They are 100 times better than Indian movies ..There by slowly You will attain the goal The Beauty of English just with 26 Alphabet It rules the world.

I am sorry to slightly differ.Though, I do believe that these regional languages which create hatred and are wepons of politicians, should die their natural death.But we Indians should have our identity by accepting HINDI as the only medium of communication,keeping English as next because we have to keep ourselves accessible to the world also.

Hindi is also just another regional language. Even it should be discarded. Sanskrit and english should be propagated in india

Even England has many lnguages!And ENGLISH IS NOT THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF ENGLAND! UK legislation does not recognise any language as being official,[71] but English is the only language used in England for general official business. The other national languages of the UK (Welsh, Irish, Scots and Scottish Gaelic) are confined to their respective nations, except Welsh to some degree.

Very Well said. English rules the world with 26 alphabet while so many Indian languages have 100-250 alphabet. Then just guess which is better? So learn English.
these senile do gooders bring ruination at worst and intert paralysis at best .. they are a global nuisance down the ages.. they are the ones responsible for the cancer of reservations, other parasitical "affirmative actions"..and the ultimate weakening of the human race as a competetive species in mother nature's world!look at his cheek and hypocrisy ! no reservation for kannadiga laggards but so called voluntary enrolment of all outsiders in kannada medium schools! at the same time he says that people who leverage caste, language, region, religion etc should be banned! no mining and modern economic development but huge govt expenses and subsidies for "special" facilities for white elephants!wow! the first thing we shud do is ban senile old geriatrics from public life.. who have all entitlements but no accountabilities!

Mr Murthy,u need to understand or reminded time and again that India comes first than Karnatka andshameless people like you, Do u know Hindi, can u speak hindi?if cann't speak our national language, wt do u expect from others? pls if u r reading this do reply, people like u n raj thackeray are the real traitors of this country, pls go to some ashram and teach kannada, we don't need u at all.Why shud we send our chilodren to Kannada school, u poor politicians hush up our money and send ur children abroad> do u have any answer for this.

Hindi speaking people will not understand the problem of non-hindi speaking people because in the hindi belt everybody speaks only hindi and they do not entertain any other language. You do not face this risk of losing your language and culture. Hence you don't understand this paradigm. And whichever place they go to they ensure others speak to them in Hindi. They generally do not converse in English. They feel they are nationalistic and Hindi is the only true language of India. Hindi speakers should understand that Hindi is not Hindustan. To be truly Indian and appreciate Indianness you need to come out of your "Nothing other than Hindi" mentality.

Hindi is not accepted as National language by South Indians. It is your Hindi people intention to implement Hindi in South India. But we people strongly oppose it, we have our own language as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. We have our own Culture it is more superior than Hindi peoples culture. You go and teach Hindi in Ashram. If you do not want to learn local language you do not come out from your Hindi belt, becuase in South India it is compulsory that children in school must study local language. If you unaware of that please check with you relatives or friends in Bangalore whether their childrens are studying Kannada or not.
