Indians more prone to HIV-AIDS than other population
by Raj on Apr 27, 2008 09:28 AM  Permalink

(Xinhua)
Updated: 2008-04-26 16:27

NEW DELHI - A gene mapping exercise of "people of India" shows that Indians are more vulnerable to HIV- AIDS than other population groups across the world because a protective gene marker against HIV-1 is virtually absent in the country, according to the latest study released by Indian Science and Technology Ministry.

The study also shows that the risk increases as one moves from north to south India. It also says the Indian gene pool is quite varied and the term or description "Indian" is hardly homogenous. It includes several variations across population groups spread across the country's land mass.

On the vulnerability to HIV-AIDS, the study says, "there is a high-to-low gradient from north to south (India). These results are consistent with the observations by Majumder and Dey in 2001, and the antenatal clinical HIV prevalence survey (2005) that reports a high frequency of HIV in south Indian populations."

The study, which was carried out by more than 150 scientists and researchers, is the largest scientific endeavor since Green Revolution effort in 1970s, the mapping covered four main linguistic families of Indians -- Austro-Asiatic, Tibeto-Burman, Indo-European and Dravidian. It also encompassed the mostly endogamous (marrying within the larger social group) Indian population defined by distinct religious communities, hierarchical castes and subcastes, and isolated tribal groups.

tibet and xinjiang

If India wanna super power and resolve Kashmir issue
India must go with US and their allies.
No one can believe on China.
On the other hand US is real democracy and best friend of India.
China has boundary disputes with nearly all neighbors
Chinas human right record is worst.
They have occupied Tibet which is integral
part of ascent India.
Tibetan must take weapon in hand.
India and US must support them.
India must deal with China with tit for tat policy.
India have to support Taiwan with nuke as China
supply nuke to Pakistan.
Time is come to merge Tibet in Indian union
by taking help of US and NATO alliances.
US and India have to encourage east Turkistan and democracy
movement in China which will lead into civil war.

US should come to terms with it. India should weigh its options and if US keeps using Pakistan to create trouble for India, then India would have no choice but to side with China.

CHINA IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN PAKISTAN
by mallaiah anchoori on Apr 27, 2008 06:42 AM  Permalink

I agree with Shourie.I have been expressing in almost all the related discussion boards that China which is a wild tiger in disguise of a mild goat with long range plans & strategy for dominance in Asian Continent is more dangerous than Pakistan which too cannot be taken lightly with a sense of complacency. The lull in Pakistan activities in Kashmir is deceptive only to manifest & strike with all its wilderness suddenly.India is really surrounded by "failed" countries who have an eye on our progress & feel envious-the known Pakistan & China on one hand & BanglaDesh with its urge to infiltrate as many people as possible into Indian territory,Nepal with a change in it a militancy oriented political ideology sequel to change of guard and Tibet which has shown its susceptibility for putting our defence interests in jeopardy by allowing China to go for wholesale infrastructure activities of road laying etc in the adjoining border area,on the other hand.UPA govt, of which the CPM whose political ideology would match with China at least theoritically is a partner,is proving too slow in dealing with inconspicuous but imminently threatening evil designs of China which is openly supporting Pakistan only to conform to the saying-"your enemy is my friend".It should never be forgotten that goal of both Pakistan and China is same;the only difference being that Pak's intentions & actions are pronounced while those of China are very schematic.India & China could never be "Bhai Bhai"

china is a fascist nation not a communist one.
by Vishnu Sharma on Apr 27, 2008 06:28 AM  Permalink

Its appetite for land is as great as that of Nazi Germany's
India's position is like that of Czechoslovakia in 1938. A weak Democracy with a formidiable defense in the form of the Himalayas.

If we part with even an INCH of land in Arunachal Pradesh, our entire security will be compromised and collapse like a house of cards.

In the same way the Czechs yielded to German threats in 1938 and gave up their Natural defensive terrain in mountainous Sudetenland.

I HOPE WE RAPIDLY INCREASE OUR ARMED STRENGTH in ARMY, AIRFORCE AND SUBMARINES AND ALIGN OUR SELVES with the WESTERN DEMOCRACIES and ISRAEL to counter the chinese threat.
