I am unable to take a stand....
by satyarthi on Apr 24, 2008 02:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

... about ban on Pak TV in kashmir. However, here once I have seen a history based serial on Pak TV depicting Abu bin Qasim (?) cajoling a hindu princess to leave idol worship and embrace Islam.
I was quite upset to see the way theme was treated.

Whether you worship idol or vacuum, it is one and the same. There was an article by Richard Dawkins in last Sunday's Indian Express, where he questions the very existence of some "supreme creator". He was just wondering how the "all powerful creator" could have created himself or whether was any one else who created such a creature!

The issue is not about worshipping. It is about slow torturing a captured teenager by a victorious Sultan, in the name of a religion, his religion.

The name is Muhammad Bin Qasim you ignorant man! that how much you know. And she did convert didnt she? so why critisize an Arab, talk to your women why she converted she will also tell you whether she was forced to convert or not.

What a pride Yaqoot Mir is showing by scolding me for not remembering the name of a 'rapist tyrant'? Whether the minor girl was converted or not is immaterial, one thing is certain that she had been raped by your religious hero The one and only one Muhammad Bin Qasim.
And such scripts are shown repeatedly on PTV with national pride. Forget about kashmiris, even pakistani girls should not be exposed to such scripts in which rapist of a teenager is considered as kaumi HERO.

It is not a question of "Acha kya aur bura kya"! Having seen PTV in particular for a long period, you simply get infuriated by their programs on kashmir in particular wherein they totally distort history. They present an abject and repressive situation out there right from 19th century! The impression that it can have on young minds is irreparaible.
And ofcourse, per law I presume not every foreign channel can be arbitrarily aired. There surely would be guidelines on the same from I&B Ministry. The courts are well within their rights on the decision.

FIRST prerequisite for Democracy is that you have to abide by the Constitution of the said nation.

If you refuse to do so and use the principles of democracy as tools to pursue a subversive ulterior agenda, then the doctrine of democracy does not hold good.

Virtues of democracy should not be allowed to become tools in the hands of those who intend to undermine the sovereignity of a nation state.

Indian state is fully justified in banning PEE TV, GEO tv and AAJ tv.

Thanks

PS: By the way we know it very well how much democratic the present inhabitants of kashmir are! They had no qualms in kicking out kashmiri hindus from valley. Where was democracy then? and now they talk of democracy. HYPOCRITES!

I was born in India and am Indian. What gives
you -- Avishek Sinha -- the right to ask me to
cross borders !?!

You have the right to disagree with me and I
respect you for just that. Nothing more.

Ofcourse I'm symapathetic to a degree with all
human beings, animals, and the elements.

I believe that mature people (as we are all are
supposed to be since we got our voting rights)
know what is good for them and what is not.

Censorship by the state or by islamists should
not be encouraged, aided or abetted.

Shake Hasina, whatching TV itself is against the tenets of Islam as per the definition of Taliban. They had completely banned using the "Idiot box" during their rule in Afghanistan. Did you protest at that time?

The Indian authorities have only banned some Channels which are showing out Country in bad light.

My freind the Taliban represent less than 1% of Muslim society, what are you saying, they are a majority? I can say the same by watching brahmin ppundits burying small girls in the sand, and watching a few hindu women being burnt by fellow hindus after the husband is dead? so what is that?>

I have a mind of my own.

I don't believe all that a Mullah says
and I care a fig for the Taliban.
