Tactical Voting
by Pop Head on Apr 21, 2008 06:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The assumption that Lingayat Brahmin vote will win majority for the BJP is a mere fallacy. (The Brahmin vote is miniscule in the state).

The JD(S) has already largely perceived to have collapsed and all other communities may graviate towards the Congress since the JD(S) is increasingly seen as a loser. This second scenaraio is already visibly evident. It must be noted that Vokaligas and Muslims tend to switch from JD(S) and Congress and back again very freqently.

Vicky's analysis of why SM Krishna is not standing or why Congress is not announcing its
CM candidate is based on the later scenario - Congress is trying to be a magnet for all castes and does not want to upset caste equations - very shrewd strategy.

So what evidence is available of a Lingayat-non-Lingayat caste polarization has taken place. The BJP boasted that they had a 15 day campaign lead over the Congress. Now that they hit the campaign trail, they have realized that the masses have very little enthusiasm for them.

U r wrong. Corrupt people will not serve anyone, they serve only theselves. So u must choose honest people, even if they do not belong to yr caste. Otherwise put some honest person of yr caste for election.

But forget caste and religion in this age of sceince.

Monkey Brand politicians
by chandrashekar nayak on Apr 21, 2008 04:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Karnataka is ill-famous for its Monkey Brand Politicians. You never know who is in which party as these bunch of crooks/jokers keep changing their loyalty every second day. It is politics of convenience.Just because they did not get ticket for the upcoming election, they have started calling names at each other.A "Honest, Obedient Party worker" till yesterday vows to ensure Congress' defeat in his constituency because his rival within the Congress got the B Form this time around. What has happened to his loyalty to the party?
Deve Gowda and Sons( I call them so because only 03 of them are left in the Party;Other worth-mentioning leaders have deserted the Party, sick of Gowda's petty politics) are hoping to get atleast 20 seats so that they can blackmail other political parties and Kumar swamy or Revanna can become CM once again and loot the state,if at all something is still left-out.They are looking at dissidents from BJP and Congress as their potential candidates.Pity.
A "Party with a Difference" till recently has turned into "Party with internal Differences" and the kind of language they are using each other is below any standard.
Congress Party is full of YOUNG LEADERS in their '70s and they go to elecrorate without projecting a Chief Ministerial Candidate;their justification is "We have a number of leaders capable of becoming Chief Ministers" and our High Command(read: Antonio Maino) will decide .Their biggest problem is THEY HAVE TOO MANY LEADERS which they fail to und

You have carfully avoided commenting on BJP which shows your love for the party. The first few sentences commented on the state of affairs in political scene but you can not make BJP an exception. The police officials who for the sake of getting congress tickets resigned thir jobs but when denied tickets swiftly moved to BJP who immediately gave them tickets. This monkey business is there in all parties. Karnataka has been ruined by politicians. You can not find a decent politician in any party it may be congress, BJP or JDS.

JD(S) can aptly be called Janata Dal (Sons). Only Devegowda (by proxy) and his sons had all the powers during Kumaraswamy's Governament. They must be thinking that the voters of Karnataka are fools to return them to power. This time around, Gowda and his sons will be done to dust and will have to lick their wound, sitting at their houses, after the elections.

Congress and BJP tents are fuming, because it has no ability to work for people. Both of these parties were befooling Indians for last 60 years with lack of people's policy. Frighten, loot, rape and kill remain..

Corruption is everywhere. Politicians, police, government servants, ministers ... everybody works for money only. Also they work for this system prevail.

Congress, a sinking ship
by Power Base on Apr 21, 2008 04:28 PM  Permalink

Congress high command's perverted rules (while issuing party tickets in Karnataka) are only further wrecking the party. It is already a sinking ship and now with the election in Karnataka only a round the corner, the process of sinking is being hastened by crooked and idiot state/central leaders. They are all forgetting the ground realities: BJP and JD(S) are making use of the every opportunity to garner maximum seats in the state while Cognress leaders are squabbling among themselves. The highest order of discontent and revolt witnessed this time is sure to write the swan sang for the party in the coming election. GOD SAVE THIS OLDEST PARY!
