Remove Advani, save BJP
by Kris on Apr 21, 2008 08:24 AM  Permalink

He is a poor judge of people. Time and again, he has shown his ineptitude. Why is BJP sticking with his leadership? Giving him the credit for rise of BJP is also wrong. In the late 80s and earlt 90s, India was looking for an alternative and I am sure even without rath yatra, BJP would have done fairly well. In fact, it is because of him, BJP has not been able to consolidate gains.

Being honest is no longer enough. Question one must ask is does he have what it takes to lead a big party and can he implement a vision.

The very concept of appointing and disappointing is 'undemocratic'

Every political party, particularly the two biggest parties should evolve a system of election at grassroot level to elect their office bearers. In short run there may be loss, but in the long run it will benefitting to the party and the polity.

Yet another Whammy for BJP
by prabhat mohanty on Apr 21, 2008 12:31 AM  Permalink

It is one thing for opponents to accuse a party like the Congress for lacking internal party democracy

It is another for a key party official to accuse his own party viz the BJP for lacking internal party democracy.

The BJP may succeed in wooing back Gopinath Munde, but the damage the whole incident has created cannot easily be washed over.

No longer can the BJP accuse Congress of lacking internal party democracy without attracting the charge of being hypocrites
