I feel it was a good gesture solely on the ground that the boys were young. Chances are, they were economic refugees- hence did some prep work like collecting currency, tunnel digging etc. Even if they had been sent by extremists, jailing them would not help. A good turn always leads to a few more.

Sure. Like Indian Cease Fire, Simla Agreement, Agra summit etc. etc. have helped, this would help immensely

they may not be spies but they may have been party to some act of which they were not fully aware of. Why did they need a mobile charger?

Yeah, sure.. They found all the truth in a 2 day investigation... and still, cases like those of Mohindar Singh Pandhar, Abu Salem , etc etc are still hanging and continue to hang. If the people who investigated them are so efficient and productive, maybe all the pending cases should be handed over to them
Our diplomats always want to keep big brother image at any cost. If the same crime did by Indian these pakis never going to listen anyone the person might be old at the time of release from pak jail.
